RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2270 metres

General: The start of this event was delayed four (4) minutes when KRISTYSGIRL sustaining a flat tyre during the preliminary. This event was subsequently shown on Sky Racing 2

TINNYSMEDAD – Out of position when the start was effected despite the efforts of its driver. A warning was issued against TINNYSMEDAD barrier manners.

FOXYONTHERUN – Post-race swab.

LEWENIDON – Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event.

SWEET OPTIONS – Pre-race swab Trainer Ellen Jones was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 268A(1) for presenting the filly in gear which was not correctly declared. Back in mobile draw. 

HARVEY HUGHES NZ –Back in mobile draw.

 

RACE 2 – YIRRIBEE PACING STUD PACE – 2270 metres

 LIFE GETS BETTER – Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event. 

THE BANKER NZ –Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event. 

DEE TERROR –Post-race swab. 

ACHERON –Pre-race swab. 

FREDEE TEE – ($3.80)Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event. Trainer Ronald Tarbit was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 8th position beaten 15.6m. Mr Tarbit advised the gelding to be disappointing & attributed the performance to the gelding over racing during the event with the moderate tempo combined racing over the longer distance were the gelding appears to perform below expectations. 

SCOTTIE MACH – Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event.

 

RACE 3– HRNSW GUARANTEED 2YO PACE –1740 metres 

MY ULIMATE BRUNO – Checked & broke gait approaching the 1000m when the speed of the event eased. 

ITZ BAD – Driver James Locke was issued a reprimand for shifting ground approaching the 500m which inconveniencedALIGHIERI. 

LOTUSBIRD – Driver Jackson Painting was reminded of his obligations when easing the pace approaching the 1200m.Shifted outwards under pressure passing the 300m & continued to shift outwards despite the efforts of its driver inconveniencingPERSONIFIED. LOTUSBIRD will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.

PERSONIFIED –Inconvenienced approaching the 200m when LOTUSBIRDshifted outwards. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

ALIGHIERI – Inconvenienced approaching the 500m when ITZ BAD shifted outwards.

HY MAINTENANCE – Inconvenienced approaching the 1000m when MY ULIMATE BRUNObroke gait momentarily when the speed of the event eased.

BIGWHEEL BOMBA –Inconvenienced approaching the 1000m when MY ULIMATE BRUNObroke gait momentarily when the speed of the event eased. 

 

RACE 4– FERELLA & SONS PLUMBING PACE –2270 metres 

I LIKA STYLE –Tired from the 400m to finish in 9th and last position beaten 60.5m. 

MAGINOT LINE – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab. Hung inwards under pressure inside the final 200m. 

MAJOR ALLEGIANCE – Pulled hard during the middle stages of the event. 

 

RACE 5 – HARVEY’S MOWER & CHAINSAW PACE – 1740 metres 

GUNDARY IRENE – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.  

FLY TO THE FINISH NZ – Driver Jackson Painting was fined the sum of $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist flicking action and with overt force inside the final 200m. Post-race swab.

IM EASY ON THE EYE – Declared a late scratching at 1:43pm due to transport difficulties. 

CLIVES GIEL – Declared a late scratching at 1:43pm due to transport difficulties.

RIVEERA –Pulled hard during the early stages of the event. Driver Blake Jones was fined the sum of $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist flicking action and with overt force when improving forward at the 1200m. 

 

RACE 6 – MILBRAE QUARRIES PACE – 1740 metre

General: Stewards inquired into the reasons PETES BIG JIM (Mikayla Towers) breaking gait approaching the 400m when improving between MAJOR HUSS (James Locke) CAPTAIN OF SPEED (Blake Micallef). After taking evidence from all drivers and viewing the available replays it was established MAJOR HUSS whilst racing three (3) wide hung inwards marginally as  CAPTAIN OF SPEED appeared to shift up the track marginally when racing along the marker line simultaneously as PETES BIG JIM was improving at speed between both runners tightening the racing room and contacted the sulky wheel of MAJOR HUSS as Stewards could not be satisfied the incident was the cause of any one horse or driver with mitigating circumstances contributing to the incident Stewards took the matter no further.

ROCK THE NATION – Checked and taken back through the field whenDIDSHEDOIT NZcommenced to yield ground. 

DUST TO DIAMONDS – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 races & attaining the age of 13 years old. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.  

TICK A LOCH – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab. 

MAJOR HUSS –Hung inwards marginally approaching the 400m tightening the racing room of PETES BIG JIM resulting in the sulky wheel being contacted. 

DIDSHEDOIT NZ – Raced fiercely throughout the event despite the drivers efforts. Yielded ground from the 500m to finish in 9th and last position beaten 55.1m. DIDSHEDOIT NZ will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slower than normal recovery. 

PETES BIG JIM– Tightened checked & broke gait approaching the 400m. 

CAPTAIN OF SPEED –Shifted outwards marginally approaching the 400m tightening PETES BIG JIM which was improving to its outside.

 

RACE 7 – HILLIS MOTOR GROUP LADYSHIP PACE – 1740 metre 

HEAVENS BADGIRL – ($6.50) Trainer Norm Jerrick was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 10th and last position beaten 30.2m. Mr Jerrick advised Driver Blake Jones reported the filly raced roughly at various stages losing momentum combined being up in grade to recent starts with the quick overall mile rate 1.54.5. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

DUN ME UP FRANCY – Post-race swab. 

LUVTOO – Held up during the early stages of the home straight prior to obtaining clear running. 

SHAZADELE – ($4.80)Pre-race swab. Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Driver Will Rixon was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position until the start was effected. Trainer Craig Turnbull was queried into the overall performance of the mare which finished in 8th position beaten 11.8m. Mr Turnbull advised the mare to be slightly disappointing over the concluding stages however would derive benefit from the event being first up since March 2023.

GIRLS ARE BEST NZ –broke gait during the middle stages of the score up. A warning was issued against the mares barrier manners.

 

RACE 8 – MATARANKA PARK STANDARDBREDS PACE – 1740 metre 

MANGOD OF THUNDER NZ – ($10.00) Driver Mal Diebert was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 6th position beaten 9.9m after racing behind the leader throughout the event. Mr Diebert advised the gelding to be slightly disappointing over the concluding stages &attributed the performance to the gelding pulling hard during the event and was not able to finish off in a quick final half of 55.3 seconds. 

FREASON – ($4.40) Driver Neil Day was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 5th position beaten 6m after racing in a favourable one-one position. Mr Day advised the gelding pulled hard throughout the event with the moderate speed and felt the gelding was up in grade the recent starts.

RACE 9 – MEDOWIE LODGE WARATAH HEAT – 1740 metres 

KING TINTIN – ($1.60 Fav)Pre-race swab. Pre-race warm up. Trainer/Driver Neil Day was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 5th position beaten 8.3m after racing behind the leader throughout the event. Mr Day advised the gelding to be disappointing and was at a loss to explain the performance. Mr Day explained it would be his intentions to have blood samples obtained from the gelding in the ensuring days and would advised Stewards of the analysis. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Neil Day, Trainer of King Tintin advised subsequently from the event the gelding to have recovered satisfactorily with blood tests failing to revel any abnormalities. Mr Day attributed the performance to the gelding not backing up from its most recent start & it would be his intentions to space the gelding’s runs going forward.
