RACE 1 – MODERN ART @ LOCHEND STUD MAIDEN PACE – 1740 metres

 

RETURN SERVE– Pre-race swab sampled. Worked forward to take over the lead from JUST CALL ME HARRY leaving the 1400 metres.

LESLEIGH– Post-race swab sampled.

REDBANK NEEDY – Raced greenly during the score-up. Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader approaching the 1000 metres.

 

RACE 2 – CLUB MEMBERSHIPS ARE NOW DUE MAIDEN PACE – 1740 metres

 

SOHO MATISSE– Contacted the sulky wheel of TERROR OFA SAINT leaving the 200 metres and was checked and raced roughly.

TERROR OFA SAINT – Hung-out under pressure leaving the 200 metres, for which a warning was issued, as a result SOHO MATISSE contacted its sulky wheel.

WALLY BLASTER– Pre-race swab sampled. Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 3 – WELCOME TO THE WORLD MILLIE JANE PAINTING PACE – 1740 metres

 

MIAMI SURF– Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event. Post-race swab sampled.

BETTARUN – Broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued. Broke gait free of interference leaving the 600 metres, given the gelding’s record connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

FLANEUR – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

CALL ME DRAGON – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 4 – THANK YOU TERRY MCMILLAN PACE – 1740 metres

 

MISSKONTIKI – Driver P McRae reported that the mare sustained a flat tyre near the 200 metres.

HEZA CONMAN– Pre-race swab sampled.

LIFE GETS BETTER– Driver B Smith was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for using his whip with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight. Post-race swab sampled.

MY GIRL LUCY– Broke gait when being restrained from the back of LIFE GETS BETTER approaching the 600 metres, connections were advised the mare would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

JACKS LAST HOO RAA – Hung-out under pressure in the home straight.

PHIZZWIZARD – Out of position at the start, given the gelding’s record connections were advised that it would be placed outside the draw for future mobile start races.

 

RACE 5 – HARNESS TRADING RING AUSTRALIA PACE – 1740 metres

 

NOTMUCHUPTOP – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

SECRET BLING – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position in the running line at the rear of the field near the 1200 metres.

FREDEE TEE – Galloped out as the start was effected for which a warning was issued.

NEVADA YANKEE– Pre-race swab sampled. Worked forward to take over the lead from IMPERIOUS leaving the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

EASTBRO TEX– Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

 

RACE 6 – WELCOME TO THE WORLD HALLIE MAE DUCK PACE – 1740 metres

 

DANCE ADDITION – Hung-in approaching the first turn.

TASHS SPARTAN– Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

SPORTS BOUNTY – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

CARIBBEAN MAGIC – Raced four wide rounding the first turn and then three wide until working forward to take up the position outside the leader approaching the 1000 metres.

SPORTINGJOY NZ– Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 7 – TIGER TARA NZ @ MEDOWIE LODGE PACE – 1740 metres

 

SPRING LINE– Driver B Jones was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that leaving the 100 metres he made insufficient effort to prevent the gelding from shifting-out when it was inclined to hang-out under pressure, and as a result METALLICA MAN has contacted his sulky wheel and was checked and raced roughly.

NINETEENTH MAN– Post-race swab sampled.

PROCUREMENT – Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

METALLICA MAN – Contacted the sulky wheel of SPRING LINE leaving the 100 metres, when that runner hung-out, and was checked and raced roughly.

ALWAYS BE CHLOE– Pre-race swab sampled.

PEGGYVILLE – Driver R Lemon was reprimanded under Rule 170(1)(a) for dropping his foot from the sulky rest near the 200 metres.

 

RACE 8 – CAMPBELLS COMMENTS PACE – 2270 metres

 

GOD BLESS YOU– Pre-race swab sampled.

RUSTY EL – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1800 metres. Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

QUICK STEP NZ– Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event. Driver A Richardson advised Stewards it was the stable’s intention to send the mare, which tired over the concluding stages and was beaten by a considerable margin, for a spell. Given the circumstances connections were advised that it would be stood down from racing for a period of 28 days and would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial prior to resuming racing.

WILD IMAGINATION– Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 9 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1740 metres

 

IM FEELING FIREY – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

SOME CHANGE NZ– Pre-race swab sampled.

MR PERFECT NZ – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the lead from KING OF TRUMPS NZ approaching the 800 metres. Driver N Jack was issued with a reprimanded under Rule 172(2) for using a mobile phone while driving the gelding in the parade ring. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account N Jack’s evidence that there had been a fall at the Mildura Harness Racing Club meeting and he was checking to see who was involved and his clear record under this rule.

BARRETT– Driver G Fahy was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for using her whip with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight. Post-race swab sampled.
