RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2270 metres

 

ARK ALERT– Driver B Duck was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that approaching the 1800 metres he shifted the gelding in when not sufficiently clear of ACHERON which was tightened for room and inconvenienced. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event. Post-race swab sampled.

ROBUST EASTON NZ – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from DIDSHEDOIT NZ leaving the 1800 metres. Driver J Painting was questioned regarding him appearing to not to drive the gelding out to the finish from near the 100 metres, he stated that in his view the gelding had come to the end of its run, after a rather hard run in the early stages, and added that in his view it does not respond to the whip. He added that he was surprised when he didn’t finish fifth, being beaten in a tight finish for that position by LUVTOO. He further added that he was somewhat disappointed with it tonight and was going to alter the gelding’s work prior to its next start in an endeavour to get him to finish off his races in a more positive manner. J Painting was reminded of his obligation to drive his runners out to the finish.

MORESCO – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader approaching the 1600 metres.

LUVTOO– Pre-race swab sampled.

HES A TERROR – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

ACHERON – Tightened for room when racing to the inside of ARK ALERT approaching the 1800 metres, when that runner shifted-in, and was inconvenienced.

 

RACE 2 – YIRRIBEE PACING STUD LADYSHIP PACE – 1740 metres

 

MOP NZ – Pre-race swab sampled.

ADIEU MIKENNIS– Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Trainer P Romero for the late declaration of Driver for the filly.

PIRANI PRINCESS– Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 3 – MILBRAE QUARRIES PACE – 1740  metres

 

LIZZADRO – Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-out after the start. Hung-out under pressure in the home straight and could not be fully tested, for which a warning was issued.

CARMEN ON BLING– Driver N Horan was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that he crossed his reins and used the whip with a free hand approaching the finish line. Post-race swab sampled.

FLEUR BELLA – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position in the running line at the rear of the field near the 1200 metres. Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader approaching the 800 metres.

IMPERIOUS– Inconvenienced near the 800 metres when the pace in the running line eased.

 

RACE 4 – TASCO PETROLEUM PACE – 1740  metres

 

DUST TO DIAMONDS – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 13 years old and it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start. Post-race swab sampled.

GLAMORS SYMBOL– Pre-race swab sampled.

SCOTTIE MACH – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader leaving the 1000 metres.

FREDEE TEE– Lost its off fore shoe a short distance after the start. Worked forward to take over the lead from DUST TO DIAMONDS leaving the 1400 metres.

TYABB WONDER– Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued, as a result took no competitive part in the race.

BARWEN STORM – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1400 metres.

REDBANK HARRY – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 12 years old and it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

 

RACE 5 – HYGAIN.COM.AU PACE – 1740 metres

 

STARZZZ REIGN– Post-race swab sampled.

JEKAMIAS NZ– Worked forward to take over the lead from STARZZZ REIGN leaving the 1400 metres. Hung-out under pressure in the home straight.

TIZZY LIZZIE – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.

ESCALERA NZ– Raced three wide from the start with cover behind TIZZY LIZZIE until leaving the 1200 metres, and then three wide without cover until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader leaving the 1000 metres. Trainer/Driver J Painting was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the gelding, he stated that since it has been in his stable it has only won when it has been able to get to the lead. He added if driven conservatively in the early stages it doesn’t run genuinely so pushed forward in an endeavour to get a forward position but had to work a bit harder to get there than he would have liked. He further added that it was his intention to discuss the gelding’s current preparation with its owner following its run tonight.

DRESSED IN GOLD NZ – Fractious and broke gait during the score-up, for which a warning was issued.

HELLO I TEA – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

CARBINEER– Pre-race swab sampled. Driver T Osmond was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the gelding, she stated that she felt it was up in grade from its previous start and is still quite inexperienced. She added that from the second row draw they got shuffled too far back during the run and was inclined to race greenly when she attempted to follow the three wide line so elected to shift back to the pegs in an attempt to save ground rounding the home turn. She further added that she was pleased with the way it finished the race off.

 

RACE 6 – BOOTS CIVIL ENGINEERING PACE – 1740 metres

 

THATS THE ATTITUDE– Pre-race swab sampled. Obtained a run to the inside of ADAMS IT leaving the 200 metres when that runner shifted out. Post-race swab sampled.

ADAMS IT– Shifted out under pressure leaving the 200 metres.

 

RACE 7 – SUCCESS STUD STANDARDBREDS PACE – 1740 metres

 

NOTTADOUBT – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1400 metres.

GOLDEN REASON– Pre-race swab sampled. Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field leaving the 1400 metres.

JACKS LAST HOO RAA– Post-race swab sampled.

HILLY – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

 

RACE 8 – SOUTHWEST STOCKFEEDS PACE – 2270 metres

 

VINCHESKA– Post-race swab sampled.

SHES BEWITCHED– Broke gait under pressure approaching the 100 metres, connections were advised the mare would be placed on its last chance to race truly. A Veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

BLAZING– Hung-in rounding the first turn.

PURE DRAGON– Pre-race swab sampled. Broke gait leaving the 1800 metres, given it was just the filly’s second race start connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

HARVEY HUGHES NZ – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1800 metres.

SUMMER BAY BREW – Inconvenienced near the 100 metres when SHES BEWITCHED broke gait.
