RACE 1  –  LADBROKES RACING CLUB PACE–  1609m  Mobile

The start of this event was delayed due to a gear adjustment on IDEN REGAL WAVE and followed by the Ipswich greyhounds running late.

SHEEZA SOHO- Raced roughly in the score up and again after the start. The filly was placed on its last chance in the draw given it previous good record.

OHANA BY THE SEA- Began badly by galloping out and the filly will be excluded from the draw in future mobile start events.

IDEN REGAL WAVE-Showed gate speed.

SMILING MIA- Failed to maintain its position behind the gate as the start was affected. The driver was reminded of her obligations. Raced outside the leader from the 900m.

BOLT OF COBARGO- Showed gate speed to lead the event.

RACE 2  –   TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT PACE–  2090m  Mobile

SUE NIEN- Driver reported that his sulky near side tyre became flat during the running of the event.

OUR ARABELLA- Showed gate speed to lead the event. Tended to pull hard while leading.

CARUSO STAR- Hung in under pressure over the final 300m. The driver was queried in relation to his tactics over the final 400m.

BOTANY BAY WARRIOR- Broke in the early part of the score when contacted the sulky in front however was in position at the release point. The horse was placed on its last chance in the draw, given its good record. Showed gate speed to sit outside the leader and obtained a trailing position in the middle stages. Gave ground over the concluding stages.

SOULWRITER- Had its sulky contacted in the early part of the score up.

QUEENOFDANCE NZ- Restrained at the start.

KIAVINO STRIDE- Left a trailing position in the middle stages to progress forward to sit outside the leader.

Stewards questioned driver Jacob Duggan, the driver of CARUSO STAR into reasons why he failed to activate the removable hood from the gelding as expected when wearing them. Driver J Duggan explained that the gelding on numerous occasions, particularly over the final lap, laid inwards despite his efforts and he was unable to drive the gelding out in his normal manner. He further stated that he was unable to activate the removable hood, in the home straight for the run to the finish because of this. After viewing the official patrol films and taking into consideration the evidence tendered and acting on their own observations, stewards were satisfied with the explanations and no action was taken.

RACE 3  –   PRYDES EASIFEED PACE–  1609m  Mobile

The start of this race was delayed 2 minutes due to a thoroughbred race in Narrogin WA running late.

MAGIC PEBBLES- Hung outwards and pulled hard in the score up. Showed gate speed to lead the event.

FLO JO CARVALHO- Was caught racing wide in the early stages and progressed forward to gain the position outside the leader. The driver was fined for her whip use.

OUR RUBY ROSE- Restrained at the start.

SCRUB BASHER- Restrained at the start.

VELOCITY STRIDE- Restrained at the start.

ALAPHILIPPE - Pulled hard in the score up.

Stewards questioned driver Jordan Chibnall, FLO JO CARVALHO into her whip use from the home turn to the finish line. After taking evidence from Jordan Chibnall and viewing the official patrol films and stewards acting on their own observations issued a charge under provisions of rule 156 (3) and sub rule 156 (4) (a). The particulars of the charge were that J Chibnall continuously used her whip on too many occasions without allowing the horse time to respond. Miss. Jordan Chibnall pleaded guilty to the charge and fined her a sum of $100.00. Stewards considered her previous good record while in Tasmania.

RACE 4  –  FEHLBERGS PRODUCE SPRINTLANE PACE–  2090m  Mobile

The start of this race was delayed 9 minutes due to on the first occasion BRIAN WHO (M Yole) had a gear malfunction in the early part of the score up and signaled to the starter causing a false start. On the second attempt STRAWBERRY BLING (J Watson) from barrier 2, broke in the latter part of the score up checking second line runners causing a further false start.

STRAWBERRY BLING – Broke in the score up causing a false start and was excluded from the mobile draw. Raced wide over the latter stages.

LOU LOUS ALLGOLD – Showed gate speed to lead the event and surrendered that position in the middle stages of the event. Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

KENS CHIPS - Restrained at the start.

ELENNA – Showed gate speed to gain the position outside the leader. Progressed forward in the middle stages to lead the event.

BRIAN WHO – Caused a false start due to a gear malfunction. Had a tendency to pull hard at various stages throughout.

MACHS MARETA NZ – Restrained at the start. Pulled hard throughout. Gave ground over the final 400m. The mare was placed on its last chance to race competitively.

ONEOFTHELADS – Raced three wide late in a trailing position.

RAMBUNCTIOUS – The gelding was out of position at the start and wilk continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Raced three wide late in a trailing position.

RACE 5  –   MATTS LAST TROT AS A SINGLE STALLION PACE–  2090m  Mobile

SHARMEY – Showed gate speed to lead the event.

HES APPLES – Raced three wide in the early stages to progress forward to gain the position outside the leader. Driver fined for misconduct.

TWO SOCK CREEK NZ – Showed gate speed to gain the position outside the leader. Obtained a trail in the middle stages.

JACKSON NEPTUNE – Raced three wide in the middle stages to unsuccessfully challenge for the position outside the leader as a result raced three thereafter. Driver fined for misconduct.

MAJOR LESTER – Restrained at the start. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion.

DEBT TILL WE PART – Hung inwards at various stages.

LETS GO LUCYLOU – Restrained at the start.

Stewards questioned claiming drivers Olivia Weidenbach (HES APPLES) accompanied by Senior driver Dylan Ford and Jack Watson (JACKSON NEPTUNE) accompanied by claiming driver advocate Neville Webberley into the conduct of both drivers following the running of this event. After taking extensive evidence from both drivers and comments from their advocates, and the evidence from two stewards who were positioned around the track, on the language used between these two drivers towards each other following the running of this event, issued a charge under provisions of rule 231 (2) for Misconduct.

The misconduct, being that foul language and abuse towards each other, in a loud tone was being used following the running of this event after passing the finish post and continued returning to the all-clear steward’s position. Both Drivers, Olivia Weidenbach and Jack Watson pleaded guilty to the charge issued against them both. Stewards after considering their previous records under this rule and the seriousness it would have on the image of harness racing, fined the drivers a sum of $750.00 each.

Stewards suspended $500.00 of this fine for a period of 24 months and assured them that it will be invoked should they breach this rule during this time in the future.

RACE 6  –   CAVALOR EQUICARE PACE–  2090m  Mobile

CLIFFHANGER – Pulled hard in the score up.

HURRICANE ROCK- Showed gate speed and gained the position outside the leader.

SNEAKY PEAK – Showed gate speed to lead the event. Pulled hard throughout the event.

SPACEWRITER – It was noted that the head check broke during the running of the event.

BEAST MODE – Out of position at the start. Raced roughly after the start also. A warning will be issued against its barrier manners.

REMEMBER ME NOW NZ – Pulled hard throughout the event. On returning to the all-clear steward the driver reported that the gelding may have choked down because of racing fiercely. A post race veterinarian examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. The trainer was advised that the gelding will be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being nominated for its next race start.

MACH ANGELO – Left a trailing position in the middle stages to progress forward to gain the position outside the leader.
