RACE 1  –  PRYDES EASIFEED PACE–  2090m  Mobile

REMEMBER ME NOW NZ – Raced to the lead from the start, tending to over-race in the early stages.

RACE 2  –  TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT PACE–  2090m  Mobile

General: Although starting on time, Sky Channel showed greyhounds walking to the start at Hatrick, which was due to start 4 minutes after this event, this resulted in no coverage of the score-up and first 500 metres of this even, club officials were informed.

CASCADE STRIDE – Subjected to a post-race Veterinary Examination after blood was detected in its mouth on completing the event. On inspection Dr J Buckerfield found no obvious issues with the gelding.

General: Driver D Ford was fined $100, for whilst leading failed to adhere to the minimum time requirements by running the first half of the last mile in 66.4 sec [AHR Rule 162(1)(y)].

RACE 3  –  CAVALOR EQUICARE PACE–  2090m  Mobile

CLASSY COUNTESS– Had difficulty in securing clear running until well into the home straight in the run to the finish.

OZZIE MAJOR– Had difficulty in securing clear running in the home straight in the run to the finish.

General: Stewards questioned connections of race favorite BLACKJACK JIM, which began well to lead, running solid quarters, however when challenged approaching the 400 was easily passed before regaining momentum to run into 4th placing. Connections informed Stewards that BLACKJACK JIM is more of a ‘one paced’ horse and lacks that sharp sprint and when challenged by the eventual winner RANIERI NZ, at the end of the back straight on the final occasion BLACKJACK JIM was unable to go with it, only holding its own over the final 400 metres. Stewards noted the evidence as tendered.

RACE 4  –  LADBROKE IT PACE–  2090m  Mobile

IMHOOKED– Momentarily hung in leaving the 900, resulting in its sulky wheel striking a marker post.

SHAUN TO THE MAX– Led the one-out line throughout.

WRITTEN IN SILK– Shifted in, contacting a marker on the final turn.

FURY DAN– Had difficulty in securing clear running until well into the home straight in the run to the finish.

General: Stewards questioned trainer J McKenzie over the apparent improved performance of SHAUN TO THE MAX. Ms McKenzie informed Stewards that she had been disappointed with recent performances of her gelding, with it not performing on the racetrack as it had been in trackwork and as such changed its training regime, backing off, reducing its workload, adding she still believed there is room for improvement. Stewards noted the evidence as tendered.

RACE 5  –  YOUNG GROUP PACE–  1609m  Mobile

General: The start of this race was delayed approximately 2 minutes so as to avoid a clash with an international thoroughbred event.

JUST FOLLOW ME– Broke gait on two occasions as well as racing roughly throughout. A subsequent Veterinary Examination found JUST FOLLOW ME had cross-fired which resulted in a laceration to its near-fore coronet, requiring treatment. Stewards acting under Veterinary advice stood JUST FOLLOW ME down from racing until a Veterinary Clearance is provided, and in addition, before returning to racing, JUST FOLLOW ME must satisfactorily complete one qualifying trial.

MONEYS NO ISSUE– Raced wide from the 1000.

ALAPHILIPPE– Placed on its last chance to race truly after breaking gait free of interference passing the 500. A post-race Veterinary Examination failed to detect any obvious abnormalities.

MADAME ANNIE– Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

General: Trainer B Yole was fined $100 for starting UPSIZE ME wearing headgear not registered to gelding [AHR Rule 273(6)(b)].

RACE 6  –  GOOD FRIDAY MEETING 29 MARCH PACE–  1609m  Mobile

No Racing Incidents

RACE 7  –  MORE CONFIDENCE CONSULTING PACE–  2090m  Mobile

SNEAK A PEEK NZ– Gave ground over the concluding stages, beaten in excess of 40 metres, for which a warning was issued.

MISTER FINNIGAN– Shifted out in the run to the finish.

MODERN POWER– Stood down to trial after giving ground over the concluding stages, beaten in excess of 50 metres. Stewards in considering the embargo were mindful MODERN POWER had been issued with a final warning at its most recent start for a similar performance.

EQUITY STRIDE– Gave ground over the concluding stages, beaten in excess of 40 metres, for which a warning was issued.

GOBSMACKED– Tended to over-race and pull hard.

General: Driver T Ford was reprimanded for carelessly allowing MISTER FINNIGAN to shift ground in the run to the finish [AHR Rule 168(1)(a)].
