All drivers at today’s race meeting were subjected to drug and/or alcohol testing.

RACE 1 – LADBROKES BET TICKER PACE–  1609m  Mobile

BOLT OF COBARGO- Began badly and will be excluded from the draw in future mobile starts.

ROCKNROLL MCRAE- Out of position at the start. Driver reprimanded under provisions of rule 162 (1) (h) for failing to come into position at the start.

POST LAZARUS- Showed gate speed to lead the event. The driver explained to the stewards that he was unable to drive to the instructions given to the stewards prior to the event as the gelding pulled hard in the score up and at the start.

POST KEG- Showed gate speed to sit outside the leader.

GRIMSHAW BAY- Restrained at the start. Raced three wide in the latter stages.

MANINKY MOONSHINE- Restrained at the start. Returned with an offside flat tire.

STONE WRITER- Restrained at the start. Driver fined $100.00 for carelessness for contacting a sulky wheel entering the front straight on the final occasion.

RACE 2  –  THE DYNAMO 15TH NOVEMBER PACE–  2090m  Mobile

ALWAYSBEALADY-Showed gate speed. Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

STEPPING STONES- Showed gate speed to lead the event.

HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN NZ- Jibbed at the start and refused to go forward and as a result trailed the field throughout. The trainer was advised that the gelding will be excluded from the mobile barrier draw in future mobile starts.

LYNRYD SKYNRYD NZ- After showing gate speed was caught racing wide and was restrained to rear of the field. Moved wide in the back straight after receiving the bell and progressed forward.

MESSERATI- Restrained at the start and tended to pull hard throughout the event.

WE SALUTE YOU- Restrained at the start.

RACE 3  –  RACING CONNECT PACE–  2090m  Mobile

DONNY IN PARIS- Showed gate speed.

CAPTAIN DAN NZ-Showed gate speed to sit outside the leader. Inconvenienced over the concluding stages.

MAGIC PEBBLES- Showed gate speed. Driver fined for carelessness.

MIKISPUR- Obtained the position behind the leader. Utilised the sprint lane over the concluding stages.

DEADLY ASSASSIN- Restrained at the start. Raced ungenerously at various stages. Inconvenienced and held up for a clear run.

VELOCITY STRIDE- Restrained at the start. Pulled hard in the middle stages of the event.

NO NUKES SKIPPER NZ-Restrained at the start.

WATCH IT HAPPEN- Pulled hard leaving the front straight on the first occasion.

The announcement of all clear was delayed when the connections of CAPTAIN DAN NZ wished to view the patrol films in the front straight for the run to the finish as they were contemplating lodging an objection. After viewing the patrol films, the connections took into consideration of the margin to the second place MAGIC PEBBLES did not wish to protest and the announcement of All clear was given on the judge’s numbers.

Driver Ricky Duggan pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 168 (1) (a) of carelessness that he allowed Magic Pebbles to shift inwards over the finish of the event inconveniencing another runner and was fined a sum of $200.00. Stewards considered his excellent record.

RACE 4  –  FEHLBERGS PRODUCE SPRINTLANE PACE–  2090m  Mobile Start

KEAYANG FITZY- Stepped away to lead the field throughout.

COOL WATER PADDY NZ- Left a trailing position in the front straight to progress forward to sit outside the leader.

MICKEY OH- Swung sideways as the start. Trailed the field throughout and made-up the ground to tack on to the field entering the front straight to receive the bell. The gelding will continue to be excluded out of the draw in standing Start events.

The announcement of all clear was delayed allowing the stewards and the driver of MICKEY OH, Matthew Howlett to view the start of the event as he believed he may have been facing behind as the start was affected. After viewing the start in the presence of the starter Adam Emery and driver Matthew Howlett the stewards and all parties were satisfied with the start and the announcement of All clear was given.

RACE 5  –  DOWNTOWN PROPERTY PACE–  2090m  Mobile

SOHO UNDERTAKER- Showed gate speed.

KEAYANG WOLFPACK- Showed gate speed to lead the event and surrended the leading position entering the back straight on the first occasion.

BUMPY J NZ-Showed gate speed to lead the event.

STRAWBERRY BLING- Caught racing wide in the early stages and raced roughly and broke gait entering the back straight on the first occasion. The trainer will be advised that the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

MORE THAN THIS- Sat outside the leader and raced roughly racing towards the back straight on the first occasion.

ALL ABOUT SADIE- Raced three wide over the last 800m.

KEAYANG KEVIN- Raced three wide from entering the back straight on the final occasion.

MOVESLIKEALADY- Out of position at the start and will continue to be excluded right outside of the draw in mobiles events.

RACE 6 –  TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT PACE–  1609m  Mobile

I WANT IT ALL NZ- Showed gate speed to lead the event and surrendered that position shortly thereafter. Obtained an inside run over the concluding stages.

OUR RUBY ROSE-Showed gate speed.

SHAUN TO THE MAX- Showed gate speed to sit outside the leader and progressed forward to lead the event. Pulled hard in the event.

MAYLEEJAE EAGLE- Gained the position outside the leader.

ELENNA-Restrained at the start.

FURY DAN- Caught wide in the early stages and restrained to the rear. Left a trailing position to progress forward three wide in the middle stages and again restrained to the rear.

Stewards questioned driver Hanna Van Dongen (FURY DAN) and trainer Wayne Yole into the tactics adopted on the gelding in particularly why two moves were made in an endeavour to sit outside or lead on the gelding. Trainer Wayne Yole explained that the gelding’s only wins have been when he can lead or sit outside the leader. Mr Yole further stated when he was watching the race and the gelding could not secure the lead or outside the leader, he believed the chances to winning were diminished.  Driver Hanna Van Dongen explained that she was driving to the instructions of the trainer, and this is why she made the two moves.

Stewards were satisfied with the explanation on reviewing previous race starts and noted the comments for future reference.

RACE 7  –  VALE WAYNE RATTRAY–  2090m  Mobile

ASHANTE QUEEN- Showed gate speed.

PUNTARNO STRIDE NZ- Showed gate speed to lead the event and surrendered that position shortly thereafter.

DEBT TILL WE PART- Sat outside the leader and obtained a trailing position in the early stages.

KERALA STAR NZ- Broke in the early part of the score up however was in position at the start.

ENSTEIN- Late driver change to Kaleb Williams.

YARECKON IM SWEET- Raced roughly in the score up, breaking briefly and was out of position at the start. Raced wide in the middle and late stages of the event.

Stewards, after reviewing results from this meeting (after the fields were drawn for Hobart 18-10-2024 and Launceston 20-10-2024), placed YARECKON IM SWEET ODM (out of the draw) in mobile barrier events.  YARECKON IM SWEET has been placed EOD (extreme outside draw) in the coming weekend events.

RACE 8  –  MORE CONFIDENCE CONSULTING PACE–  2090m  Mobile

MAJOR LESTER- Showed gate speed to lead the event.

MAYOR OF ELWOOD- Showed gate speed to sit outside the leader. Hung inwards despite efforts from the driver. When questioned the trainer advised a gear adjustment may be required.

IDEN LADY LINCOLN- Broke free of interference after the start and will be excluded from the draw.

MISTA EAGLE- Inconvenienced because of another horse hanging inwards.

TRIEDTOTELLYA- Raced three wide in the middle stages to gain the position outside the leader.

SHOOIN-  Raced three wide in the middle and late stages.
