Trainers with multiple runners engaged in any race were questioned as to their intended driving tactics.

All horses that raced in Launceston on Friday 10 June 2022 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were passed suitable to start.

TASMANIAN TROTTING CLUB- Sunday 29th May 2022

Race 7: Claremont Cricket Club Pace

Driver Tiarna Ford pleaded guilty to a charge under AHRR163(1)(a)(iii) in that as the driver of COOLHAND EASTON NZ while restraining her drive at the 1700m mark, in an attempt to obtain a position in the one out line, she caused driver Miss Jordan Chibnall, (DEADLY ASSASSIN) to check her drive and lose her rightful racing position. Miss Ford’s driver licence was suspended for a period of 2 race dates.

Driver Tiarna Ford pleaded guilty to a charge of Misconduct under AHRR231(2), in that she verbally abused driver Miss Jordan Chibnall on the return to the stabling area after Race 7 at the Tasmanian Trotting Club meeting on 29 May 2022. Stewards fined Miss. Ford the sum of $500 fully suspended for a period of 12 months.

RACE 1 – TASMANIAN EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES PACE– 1609 METRES

SABALENKA LEIS raced greenly as the field entered the home straight on the final occasion, contacting a marker peg. A warning has been placed on this filly.

RACE 2 – TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT PACE – 1609 METRES

SPOOKY GIRL utilised the sprint lane.

RACE 3 – GREAT NORTHERN PACE – 2090 METRES

JACK JAMES gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 44m.

RACE 4 – NUTRIEN SPRINTLANE PACE2090 METRES

MONEYS NO ISSUE raced roughly shortly after the start, this gelding has now been placed on its last chance in the mobile draw. MONEYS NO ISSUE also broke free of interference as the field raced past the 500m mark. As a consequence, this gelding has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

MISSUS DISASTER tired badly to be beaten in excess of 60m. MISSUS DISASTER underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities. However, trainer Mr. Paul Ashwood informed stewards that he would be obtaining a blood test and would advise the outcome.  Connections advised that the filly has come to the end of her preparation and will now be turned out to be spelled.

HURRICANE ROCK gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 46m.

Dylan Ford, (LORIMERTYRRELL) advised Stewards that this filly had contacted her sulky on several occasions during the running of this event. Stewards advised Trainer Ms. Tammy Langley to take remedial action to prevent future occurrences.

RACE 5 – PRYDES EASIFEED PACE2090 METRES

Mark Yole, (POPNPENNIES) was issued a reprimand under AHRR162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his starting position behind the mobile barrier.

RACE 6 –DOWNTON PROPERTY PACE2090 METRES

Kayleb Williams, (YOUNG ROOSTER) was issued a reprimand under AHRR162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his starting position behind the mobile barrier.

EQUITY STRIDE was held up for clear racing room as the field raced towards the 400m mark.

BLACKBIRD POWER utilised the sprint lane.

Paul Williams, (LOCKAWAY KACIE) was found guilty of a charge issued under AHRR163(1)(b)(i) in that as the field raced down the back straight on the first occasion, he elected to shift out from behind the leader ROCKS ROY and in doing so caused PUNTARNO STRIDE NZ, (Mitch Ford) to shift up the track and cover more ground than necessary. Mr. Williams driver licence was suspended for a period of two (2) race dates.

RACE 7 – LADBROKES PACE2090 METRES

MY CELEBRITY was out of its position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.

TEE JAY CEE pulled hard in the early stages of this event.

VIGOROSO NZ pulled hard at various stages of this event.

RANIERI NZ and VIGOROSO NZ jostled for a short distance as the field raced towards to 400m mark, with RANIERI NZ racing roughly for a short distance.

GUYS BETTOR BET raced roughly and broke as the field raced around the home turn on the final occasion. The gelding has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

RACE 8 – CASCADE DRAUGHT PACE2090 METRES

NO NUKES SKIPPER NZ pulled hard at various stages of this event

BEAST MODE pulled hard at various stages of this event.

WHERE YA BIN NZ was held up for clear racing room as the field raced towards to 400m mark of this event.

Driver B Woodsford, (COOL SCOOTER NZ) pleaded guilty to a charge issued under AHRR156(2)(a) in that he used the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion over the concluding stages of this event. In line with the set penalty guidelines, Mr. Woodsford was fined the sum of $400.

RACE 9 – CLAREMONT CRICKET CLUB PACE1609 METRES

DON HESTON gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 48m.

JO DINA failed to circle as required prior to the start of this event and has been placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. This mare was also obliged to race in a three wide position for the majority of this event and tired to be beaten in excess of 96m.

GENERAL:

Race times were put back one race, with race 9 rescheduled to 9:15PM, due to Clerk of the Course Mr. Zane Medhurst requiring medical attention prior to Race 2.

Licenced Stable Hand Mr. Phillip Ford pleaded guilty of a charge of Misconduct under AHRR231(2) in that he loudly used inappropriate language in the vicinity of the Stewards Room after Race 8. Stewards fined Mr. Ford the sum of $250 fully suspended for a period of 12 months.
