Trainers with multiple runners in a race advised Stewards of intended tactics.

RACE 1 – LADBROKES BIG BETS PACE - 1609M MS
No racing incidents.
RACE 2 –LATHER UP @ WOODLANDS STUD PACE - 2090M MS
JUSTIFY (H. Van Dongen) which raced greenly and galloped in back straight final occasion will be stood down until completes a satisfactory trial.
RACE 3 – AUSTRALIAN DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP 21 DECEMBER PACE - 2090M SS
A warning placed on POWER UP (D. Ford) which galloped out and DENNY (T. Rattray) which commenced poorly. ASHANTE QUEEN (T. Ford) shifted up the track at start to avoid the POWER UP and DENNY.
RACE 4 –TOREACE FLYING MILE - 1609M MS
Trainer C. Crook was fined $50 for failing to advise Stewards of tactics for his dual runners. R238.
RACE 5 –FEHLBERGS PRODUCE SPRINTLANE PACE - 2090M MS
No racing incidents.
RACE 6 –TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT PACE - 2090M MS
All clear delayed to allow E. Arnott (MONEYS NO ISSUE) dead heat 1ST to view film. After viewing film, he lodged a protest against SHOOBEES SPIRIT (J. Watson) alleging interference near 500 Metres. After taking evidence from both drivers viewing the films and acting upon their observations Stewards dismissed the protest. Whilst acknowledging that MONEYS NO ISSUE had lost momentum when SHOOBEES SPIRIT shifted out wards there after on the home turn it shifted out and continued to so in home straight of its own accord and Stewards were satisfied that placings should stand. A caution was issued to J. Watson for manner he shifted ground. R 163 (1) (a) (i).
BUSLOAD OF FAITH (D. Ford) which galloped at start excluded from draw mobile barrier start races. A warning also placed on gelding for galloping entering back straight first occasion.
