STEWARDS REPORT FOR ECHUCA

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 BLUEY & BINGO @ EASTER ECHUCA TROTS MAIDEN PACE (2160 MS)

FENG SHUI STAR – Held up from the 400m to the 200m, before using the sprint lane.

REMMINGTON – Broke gait leaving the 1900m when free of interference. A last chance to race truly was placed against the gelding. Pulled hard in the middle stages of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ADIEU MIKENNIS – Inconvenienced leaving the 1900m when REMMINGTON broke gait leading the field.

MISCHIEFS SISTER – Pulled hard in various stages of the race.

HOORAH PHILTRA – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to a position.

RACE 2 – VICTORIAN SQUARE TROTTERS ASSOCIATION TROT (1755 MS)

AETHON – Locked wheels with MYRTLE VALE from the 200m to the 150m.

MYRTLE VALE – Locked wheels with AETHON from the 200m to the 150m.

MARIO FRANKLIN – Caught wide in the early stages before breaking gait when free of interference at the 1200m, then at the 600m and at the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. The gelding was subsequently stood down ten (10) days and one (1) satisfactory steward’s trial.

CHRISTMAS BABE NZ – Pulled hard throughout the race. Driver Shannon O’Sullivan reported she was disappointed in the performance of CHRISTMAS BABE NZ and the stable would monitor the recovery of the mare and report back to stewards if anything with the mare comes about over the next few days.

JANSU – Hang in the score, before racing wide for majority of the race.

REIGNING LILLIES – Held up for clear running from the 400m to the winning post.

MACHO MAORI – Out of position at the start, a last chance draw was placed against the gelding.

RACE 3 – NOEL EVANS MEMORIAL TROT (2160 MS)

MAGIC MAID – Surrendered the lead in the early stages of the race, broke gait when free of interference approaching the 1500m, a warning was placed against the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MAORI DUCHESS Out of position in the score up and will now continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

MEADOWVALLEY LOVER – Broke gait after the start and will now continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

RACE 4 – SUPER CLEAN LINEN SERVICE PACE (2160 MS)

NOBLE JULIA – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when ELENNA broke gait and shifted down the track, contacting marker pegs. Surrendered the lead in the early stages.

ELENNA – Broke gait when free of interference approaching the 1800m. A last chance to race truly was placed against the mare.

DALLAS NIKOLAY – Due to having competed in more than 200 lifetime races and in accordance with HRV policy was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Inconvenienced shortly after the start when ELENNA broke gait.

BONDI PRINCE – Pulled hard in various stages of the race.

MYNAMEISRUBY – Hung in the score up and was out of position as the start was initiated, a last chance draw was placed on the mare.

DON’T WASTE TIME – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when ELENNA broke gait.

RACE 5 – CALEDONIAN HOTEL EASTER CUP 2024 PACE (2160 MS)

LUVER BOY – Caught wide in the early stages of the race before working forward to obtain a position.

ART ON FIRE NZ – Surrendered the lead in the middle stages, hung in contacting marker pegs approaching the 250m when placed under pressure.

RACE 6 – TIFFANY MURRAY MEMORIAL MARES PACE (1755 MS)

SURFIN AT MIDNIGHT – Caught three (3) wide in the early stages of the race, before being able to restrain to a position in the middle stages.

WHERES WOOD WOOD – Caught four (4) wide in the early stages of the race, before being able to restrain to a position in the middle stages.

ROSLYN GAYE – Due to having competed in more than 200 lifetime races and in accordance with HRV policy was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

RACE 7 – RICH RIVER AUTO BODY PACE (1755 MS)

ITZ NORMAS LAST – Held up leaving the 400m to the home turn when the leader HIGHVIEW HAMMER started to tire.

FRIENDS – Due to the gelding being 12 years of age, in accordance with HRV policy was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

NEVS DREAM – Caught wide in the early stages of the race before working forward to obtain a position.

SPEEDY SPIDA – Three wide late from the 850m.

BINN WATCHING – Held up leaving the 400m and had no clear running in the home straight.

RACE 8 – TASCO PETROLEUM PACE (1790 MS)

OUR MYSTERY BET – Caught wide in the early stages of the race before working forward to obtain a position.

FOUR STARRZZZ RUBY – Raced three (3) wide leaving the 1500m before working forward to be outside the leader LILNOVA. Stewards questioned driver Chris Alford about the driving tactics he elected to use from the 1500m. Driver Chris Alford stated that when he elected to make a forward move from the 1500m the mare was travelling well within herself. When the speed quickened slightly in the back straight and he asked the mare for a little more effort, he state that FOUR STARZZZ RUBY felt a little flat and took longer to get outside the leader then he had anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. The stable would monitor the recovery of the mare and report back to stewards if anything with the mare comes about over the next few days.

HAND WRITER – Broke gait shortly after the start, the mare will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.
