STEWARDS REPORT FOR CRANBOURNE

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – WORLDS BEST HOOF OIL CRANBOURNE 10000 PACE FINAL (2080M MS)
DIAMOND MOUNTED – Subject to a post-race swab sample.
BART BENTLEY – The race book failed to show Ken Tippet as the driver. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 96m. Was placed on its last chance to race competitively. Driver Ken Tippett was queried in relation to the performance of Bart Bentley. Mr Tippet was at a loss to explanation tonight’s performance, stating the gelding appeared to recover well postrace. Mr Tippet also stated that Bart Bentley may have come to the end of this current preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to find any abnormalities. Stewards intend to follow up with connections in the coming days as to the gelding’s recovery.

BART BENTLEY – Trainer Ken Tippet reported today that following the above-mentioned race, BART BENTLEY'S blood tests revealed the gelding to be showing signs of tying up. The gelding will have a brief let up and its diet changed.
RACE 2 – LATHER UP STANDING @ WOODLANDS STUD PACE (2080M MS)
ROYAL CADENCE – The race book failed to show James Herbertson as the driver.
AUCKLAND RED – Subject to a pre-race blood sample.
General –
JILLIBY DINGO - Pulled hard near the 1100m then subsequently choked down falling 50m prior to the winning post with one lap to run, dislodging driver Tony Mallia. Given the circumstances, the fall siren was activated as the field past the 400m due to safety concerns as support staff assisting at the incident were unable to remove Jilliby Dingo from the track. Further, the position of support vehicles which restricted the track area near the 100m. Due to the distance that had been covered by the field this event was declared a no-race. Driver Tony Mallia was examined by on-course medical personnel and cleared of any injury. Jilliby Dingo underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed superficial grazes to the gelding’s right eye. The gelding will be stood down pending the completion of one satisfactory trial.
RACE 3 – HYGAIN PACE (1609M MS)
GROOM – The race book failed to show George Batsakis as the driver. Hung out during the score up inconveniencing Admiralofthefleet. A warning was issued. Hung in near the 1400m.
ADMIRALOFTHEFLEET – Inconvenienced during the score up when Groom hung out which caused the gelding to be out of position at the start. Was pulled up from the race near the 900m. When queried regarding the performance driver Damian Wilson stated he felt the gelding may have suffered atrial fibrillation. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed the gelding to have atrial fibrillation. In accordance with AHR Rule 101(2)(a) and due to this being the second occasion of atrial fibrillation, Admiralofthefleet will be stood down from racing for a period of 28 days, until a veterinary clearance inclusive of a satisfactory ECG report is provided and the gelding has trialled satisfactorily on two occasions.
SIR FLOYD – Hung in after the start whilst being restrained.
ALPHA CRUCIS – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 41m into 6th place. When queried regarding the performance Driver Ken Tippet could offer no explanation for tonight’s performance stating that the gelding appears to have recovered well after the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards intend to follow up with connections in the coming days as to the gelding’s recovery.

ALPHA CRUCIS – Trainer Ken Tippet reported today that following the above-mentioned race, ALPHA CRUCIS'S blood tests revealed the gelding to be showing signs of tying up. The gelding will have a brief let up and its diet changed.
RACE 4 –ALDEBARAN PARK TROT (1609M MS)
ESS KAY HOLLYWOOD – Driver Tasmyn Potter was cautioned for directing her drive down the track, contacting the final two marker peg before using the sprint lane.
SPIRITED LASS – The race book failed to show James Herbertson as the driver.
RACE 5 – MARK GURRY & ASSOCIATES MAIDEN PACE (1609M MS)
HEZA DOOZIE – Raced roughly and hung out during early stages of the score up then race roughly shortly after the start. Will be placed on its last chance in the draw. Hung in between the 400m and 200m. A warning was issued.
SHANDIN BEACH – Subject to a pre-race blood sample.
LORINO – Raced roughly during the score up. Will be placed on its last chance in the draw.
GOZO MAJOR – Hung in near the 1400m.
LOMBOK – Subject to a pre-race blood sample. Trainer Zac Steenhuis was fined $50 under rule 273 (6)(b) for this filly being presented in gear which was not correctly declared.
RACE 6 – BLUE HILLS RISE NMW PACE (2080M MS)
IMA CHARMA – Subject to a pre-race blood sample. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 31m into 4th place. When queried regarding the performance Driver Ken Tippet expects to find all his runners from tonight suffering from a virus in the coming days. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards intend to follow up with connections in the coming days as to the gelding’s recovery.

IMA CHARMA – Trainer Ken Tippet reported today that following the above-mentioned race, IMA CHARMA'S blood tests revealed the gelding to be showing signs of tying up. The gelding will have a brief let up and its diet changed.
GOODTIME LIBBY – Subject to a post-race swab sample.
DRESSED IN GOLD NZ – Galloped clear of interference during the score up and was out of position at the start. Will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
THE SPORTZ STAR – Galloped clear of interference shortly after the start and will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. The Sportz Star then shifted in abruptly, contacting the running rail to the inside of the racing surface. The Sportz Star was pulled up soon after. A post-race veterinary examination failed to find any abnormalities. The gelding will be stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
RACE 7 - CRANBOURNE FENCING PACE (2080M MS)
DANCINGONSTARLIGHT NZ – Galloped clear of interference shortly after the start and will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
OLIVIA ROSE – Tightened for racing room briefly near the 2000m when Island Caesar was shifted down the track.
ISLAND CAESAR – Driver Ryan Duffy was cautioned for directing his drive down the track near 2000m when insufficiently clear of Olivia Rose placing that runner in restricted room.
