Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – VHRC / WOODLANDS STUD 2YO 0-2 LTW PACE (1609 MS)
WILLECO – Sulky contacted rounding the first turn by trailing runner Destiny Kept as the place eased.
DESTINY KEPT – Inconvenienced as the pace eased rounding the first turn and contacted the sulky of Willeco. Raced roughly as a result.
NUGGET ROGERS – Hung in under pressure rounding the final turn and contacted marker pegs prior to utilising the sprint lane in the home straight.
RACE 2 –VHRC / AUSTRALIAN PACING GOLD PACE (2100 MS)
ALLTHEWAYTOROYALTY – Tired to be beaten 164m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Given the poor performance, Allthewaytoroyalty was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
INTO THE HARKNESS – Galloped as the start was effected and was placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.
CHEDALAYO – Inconvenienced in the back straight on the final occasion while trailing Allthewaytoroyalty which commenced to tire.
HELO PINTO – Inconvenienced shortly after the start as Into The Harkness galloped.
FRED NED - Inconvenienced shortly after the start as Into The Harkness galloped. Tired over the latter stages to be beaten 78m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Placed on its lac=st chance to race competitively for a poor performance.
SOAR – Driver Jackie Barker was cautioned for the manner in which she shifted ground outward approaching the 1400m which inconvenienced Into The Harkness.
RACE 3 – VALE BOMBER KELLY / VHRC / GBL PROPERTIES PACE (1755 MS)
RIVER PATROL – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the geldings age and life time starts with no apparent abnormalities detected.
REDBANK MOLLY – Inconvenienced in the back straight on the final occasion when trailing Princess Alexandra which commenced to give ground.
RACE 4 – VHRC / ALDEBARAN PARK 3YO & OLDER MAIDEN TROT (2160 MS)
SALUTE TO SUNNY – Hung in at various stages throughout. Held up rounding the final turn. Inconvenienced and galloped on entering the home straight on the final occasion.
KVINTET HILL – Held up for a clear run rounding rh final turn. Inconvenienced as Cresco Cashflow galloped on entering the home straight.
HEART OF GRACELAND – Galloped under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion.
CRESCO CASHFLOW – Galloped under pressure after leading into the home straight on the final occasion. Given the fillies recent racing record, was placed on its last chance to race truly.
MADGE EGAN – Galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start and was placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.
RASENGAN - Galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start and was placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.
NEDZA THRILLER – Late scratching at 12.30pm Stewards Permission.
ALPHA TORI – Galloped shortly after the start and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races. Raced roughly entering the front straight on the first occasion and raced roughly under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion. A warning was issued against the geldings racing manners.
RACE 5 – SWIFT FREIGHT / VHRC / HARAS DES TROTTEURS TROT (1755 MS)
MONTANA MUSCLE – Galloped under pressure rounding the final turn and a warning was issued against the mares racing manners.
CRESCO MOJITO – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the mare not starting in a race since October 2021 with no obvious abnormalities detected. Slow to begin. Tired to be beaten 92m and was placed on its last chance to race competitively.
MAJESTIC GA GA – Raced roughly under pressure rounding the final turn.
ROMANTIC NINA – Late scratching with the Stewards Permission.
AMALIA PEARL – Hung out while leading at approximately the 900m and galloped. Trailed the field thereafter.
FLING IT RAINBOW – Inconvenienced at approximately the 900m as Amalia Pearl galloped.
BOUTIKA – Inconvenienced at approximately the 900m as Amalia Pearl galloped caught three wide over the middle and latter stages.
POPPY POPSTAR – Inconvenienced at the 900m as Amalia Pearl galloped.
TICTOK – Out of position as the start was effected and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races. Hung in approaching the end of the back straight on the first occasion and galloped then trailed the field thereafter. Given the mares recent racing manners Tictok was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
RACE 6 – VHRC / MARK GURRY & ASSOCIATES TROTTERS HANDICAP (2100 SS)
ALFIE ALWAYS – Late scratching at 12.30pm with the permission of the Stewards.
DESIGNS – Galloped shortly after the start was effected and was placed out of the draw for future standing start races.
SALSKI – Galloped after the start was effected and will continue to be drawn wide in future standing start races.
SHOW ME THE MOOLAH – Tired to be beaten 62m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.
ROBBINMEMATES – Inconvenienced as Show Me The Moolah tired in the back straight on the final occasion.
MISSUCCI NZ – Slow to begin. Commenced to tire in the back straight on the final occasion, beaten 64m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.
RACE 7 – VHRC / CGI 3YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE (1609 MS)
VINCENT GRANGE – Tightened leaving the back straight on the first occasion. Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and during the early stages of the home straight.
LOMBOK – Driver Ryan Sanderson was cautioned for tightening the racing room of Vincent Grage leaving the back straight on the first occasion. Raced roughly when steadied after finding the lead.
THE QUEEN OF TALK – Late scratching at 5.01pm by Order of the Stewards due to the mare becoming extremely fractious during the pre race warm up and requiring assistance from the Clerks of the Course. The Queen Of Talk was examined by the on course veterinarian and cleared of any obvious abnormalities. Stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
OBSYDIAN – Galloped shortly after the start and was placed out of the draw for future mobile start races. Trailed the field thereafter.
RACE 8 – VHRC / BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS PACE (1609 MS)
RIVIERA ROSE – Raced roughly shortly after the start and a warning was issued against the mares mobile barrier manners. Pulled hard middle stages.
