BONJORGE– Driver T Osmond was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) in that when leaving the 300 metres has allowed her runner to improve into a run between MISS BALLET and ALWAYS BE BRENDAN where there was insufficient room and as a result BONJORGE has contacted the inside sulky wheel of ALWAYS BE BRENDAN and raced rough for a short distance.
NONEWS IS GOODNEWS– Pre-race blood.
MISS BALLET– Driver P Sapio was cautioned on his whip use in the home straight on the final occasion.
TUFFASOLDBOOTS(4.40) – Driver H Ross was queried on the overall performance of the gelding who had failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 7th position beaten 13.90 metres. He stated he was not overly disappointed due to the bad barrier draw and the gelding being up in grade on its recent starts.
JAZZMIN– Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.
ALWAYS BE BRENDAN– Driver J Locke was issued a reprimand under rule 162(1)(www)(a) for allowing his runner to shift out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion. Post-race swab.
RACE 2 – AV STONE MARBLE & GRANITE PACE – 1770 metres
BLACK ART NZ– Pre-race blood. Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

MAJOR HUSS– Driver H Ross was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when being held up for clear racing room has shifted his runner out when insufficiently clear of SATIN BANYULA and as a result that runner was inconvenienced.
RACE 4 – CANBERRA TRUCK ALIGN PACE – 1770 metres
VALDEZZ(3.80) – Pre-race blood. Driver J Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the filly where it appeared to be disappointing in tonight’s event to finish 7th beaten 47 metres. He stated when negotiating the first turn had a tendency to hang out and race roughly for a short distance where he had to restrain the gelding to a position on the running line. VALDEZZ appeared to drop the bit throughout the race, when the tempo increased over the final 500 metres the filly failed to respond and was disappointing in the run to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
MACH NINE– Driver S Osmond was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the first turn has shifted his runner down the track when insufficiently clear of ROCKNROLL RAMBO and as a result that runner was tightened for racing room.
CHOCOLATE DELIGHT– Passing the 1100 metres when contacting its own sulky wheel became unbalanced and broke stride. Considering the gelding’s recent record CHOCOLATE DELIGHT will be stood down for a period of 14 days and must also requalify on two occasions.

JEKAMIAS NZ– Pre-race blood. Post-race swab.
IMPULSIVE GEORGE– Driver D Murphy’s left foot momentarily lowered below the sulky rest when entering the home turn on the final occasion. Mr Murphy was also questioned on the tactics adopted in the early stages by resisting a challenge for the lead by JEKAMIAS and his drive tiring over the concluding stages to finish 8th beaten 22.80 metres. He stated that it was the instructions to lead on the gelding if possible and when showing superior gate speed led the race easy, when challenged by JEKAMIAS NZ in the early stages he elected to hold the lead. JEKAMIAS NZ then placed further pressure on his runner from the 1100 metres, with his runner travelling easy he held the lead until failing to run on when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
ROCK STEADY– Became unbalanced and broke stride at the 1700 metres and then again at the 150 metres. The gelding will be required to requalify on one occasion.

RACE 6 – ACT TYREPOWER PACE – 2170 metres
GENERAL– The all clear was delayed to ascertain if SPIRIT AND SOUL NZ had gained an advantage over any runner when crossing the finishing line in the incorrect gait. After taking evidence from driver J Locke and viewing the available race day footage Stewards were of the opinion when SPIRIT AND SOUL NZ broke stride inside the final 70 metres he had maintained his ground for some distance when in the incorrect gait resulting in him gaining an advantage over third place getter BRACKEN WARRIOR and fourth place getter HUNT A RAINBOW. Acting under rule 155(1) SPIRIT AND SOUL NZ was relegated from second place to fourth place.
HUNTER RAINBOW– Pre-race blood.
ARK ALERT– Post-race swab.
