RACE 1 – MGA INSURANCE GROUP MAIDEN PACE – 1770 metres

MISS TIGER– Pre-race blood. 

STELLA MACH– Fractious in the score up when leaving the circle.  A warning was issued.

LILYS REASON– Able to obtain an inside run at the 70 metres.  Post-race swab.

TAPANGA MISS– Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

BARKWAY DAVE– Approaching the 1300 metres became unbalanced and broke stride, also broke stride at the 200 metres.  The gelding will be stood down for one requalifying trial.

DECIPHER– Inconvenienced at the 500 metres and raced rough for a short distance when SMARTSUNSHINE had shifted out. 

 

RACE 2 – GLEN MIA (ACT) SADDLERY PACE – 1770 metres

IM LORD TOMMY– Post-race swab.

TUFFASOLDBOOTS– Pre-race blood. 

CERISE RAINBOW– When racing wide on the track at the 200 metres raced rough for a short distance.  At the request of connections, the gelding will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

 

RACE 3 – OSKAR MEMORIALS PACE – 2170 metres

DEEBO– Post-race swab.

ZEN MASTER– Driver L Hansen was questioned on the overall performance of the horse where it failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in eighth position beaten 25.6 metres.  Miss Hansen stated it was the intentions to attempt to lead the event and when unable to do so elected to restrain to race outside the leader at the 1600 metres where the gelding then commenced to over race for the remainder of the event contributing the horse not running on over the final 400 metres. 

SIX AGAIN– When negotiation the first turn was tightened for racing room when POTTER shifted down the track when insufficiently clear.  Driver P Sapio was queried on the tactics adopted over the final 700 metres in particular if there was an opportunity to shift her runner wider from the 500 metres when POTTER began to yield ground from that point. Miss Sapio stated passing the 600 metres that she was of the opinion POTTER was still maintaining its ground at that stage but was mindful that SIX AGAIN may not be able tomake a run that far from home. Passing the 500 metres when TUFFASOLDBOOTS(J Locke) improved to her outside she was cautious on shifting that runner wider as to cause nointerference as such was held up until the 300 metres. Stewards concluded that Miss Sapio had erred in her tactics by not shifting SIX AGAIN wider from the 500 metres but not culpable enough to suspend her drivers licence due to Miss Sapio`s relative inexperience resulting in a reprimand being placed on her driving record.   Held up for clear racing room until the 300 metres.

POTTER– Driver B Micallef was advised to ensure there is sufficient clearance when shifting down the track to obtain a position in the running line.

SNEAK A PEEK NZ– Pre-race blood.  Passing the 200 metres had a tendency to hang in. 

NIFTY RONALD– Broke stride shortly after the start.  The gelding will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

 

RACE 4 – LERIDA ESTATE WINERY PACE – 2170 metres

LOGAN DREAM– Pre-race blood.  Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

TUKURUA– Driver C Hart was queried on the overall performance of the gelding when it commenced to yield ground over the final 300 metres to finish in seventh position beaten 13.7 metres.  He stated after doing more work than anticipated to find the lead the gelding then over raced which was proved detrimental to the overall performance.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

SKYE MARY MAC NZ– Post-race swab.

TROUBLE IN HEAVEN– Fractious in the score up resultin in the start being delayed for some time as the filly was reluctant to move forward when the runners were called up to the mobile.  TROUBLE IN HEAVEN will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.  Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

 

RACE 5 – TAB.COM.AU PACE – 1770 metres

PRINCE LOUIE– Pre-race blood.  Leaving the 500 metres when yielding ground broke stride.  A warning was issued.

BETTORS HOPE(3.60fav)– Driver B Medlyn was queried on the overall performance where the gelding failed to run on when placed under pressure over the final 400 metres to finish in seventh position beaten 13.4 metres.  He stated with the fast tempo in the early stages and racing outside the leader proved detrimental to the overall performance of the gelding.

ROCKET BOY– Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

KARINYA GILL– Driver M Turnbull was advised to ensure there is sufficient clearance when shifting his runner wider at the 500 metres. 

JEKAMIAS NZ– Post-race swab.

SPIRIT AND SOUL NZ– Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

 

RACE 6 – HUTCHEON & PEARCE PACE – 2170 metres

OUR GEORGE BOSTON – Driver D Murphy was question on the reason he was unable to maintain his position one out one back at the 1700 metres. He stated OUR GEORGE BOSTON was moderate to begin and had to drive forward to maintain his position in therunning line with THE TALK racing to his outside, entering the home straight the first time the tempo increased when JUSTA DRAGON challenged for the lead and his runner was unable to hold its position allowing THE TALK to fill the position in front of him. His comments were noted.

THE TALK– Approaching the 200 metres had a tendency to hang in when LIGHTNING BABY NZ also shifted down the contributing to pressure being applied to JUSTA DRAGON being placed in restricted room and broke stride.  THE TALK will be given its last chance to race truly.

FATHER BOB– Post-race swab.

JUSTA DRAGON– Pre-race blood.  Approaching the 200 metres was placed in restricted racing room and broke stride when THE TALK had hung in, also LIGHTNING BABY NZ shiftingdown the track.

LIGHTNING BABY NZ– Driver M Hawke was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 200 metres has allowed her runner to shift down the track resulting in THE TALK being taken down the track tightening the running of JUSTA DRAGON who was checked and broke.

 

RACE 7 – CANBERRA TRUCK ALIGN PACE – 1770 metres

CRYSTAL BLING– Held up for clear racing room until able to obtain an inside run at the 100 metres. 

DARK LUSTRE– Post-race swab.

RIP JACKSON– Pre-race blood.

 

RACE 8 – PRECISION ELECTRONICS PACE – 1770 metres

PADDY MACH– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

TWISTED MISTRESS– Pre-race blood.  Driver J Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the mare when she gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in eighth position beaten 52.4 metres.  He stated after showing gate speed was positioned in the one out one back position when KUDOS MASON restrained looking for cover, he elected to shift his runner wide to obtain the position outside the lead where the mare raced keenly and was disappointing over the concluding stages when placed under pressure.  A warning was placed on TWISTED MISTRESS’S record.

JACKS UP– Post-race swab.

KUDOS MASON– Driver M Rue was queried on the overall performance of the gelding who failed to respond over the final 400 metres to finish in tenth and last position beaten 67 metres.  He stated when commencing well from the start had almost crossed PADDY MACH when unable to do so restrained to obtain cover.  When placed under pressure over the final 400 metres the gelding failed to respond.  He further stated the gelding appeared to race flat throughout the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's record.

 

RACE 9 – ACT TYREPOWER BELCONNEN PACE – 1770 metres

WHY NOT SURF– Pre-race blood.  Post-race swab.

BLACK ART NZ– Became unbalanced and broke stride at the 200 metres. A warning was issued.

CRAZY SHIPPO– A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 4/5 lame in the near fore.  A veterinary certificate will need to be submitted prior to racing or trialing again.

NIFTY JOLT– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

CLEMENTSORRELL– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts and is also 13 years of age.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

 

RACE 10 –AV STONE MARBLE & GRANITE PACE – 1770 metres

DOTTIE FEELS GOOD– Approaching the 300 metres was inconvenienced and taken up the track when IRK MCGLURK had shifted out when insufficiently clear. 

IRK MCGLURK– Driver J Betts was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when approaching the 300 metres has shifted his runner out when insufficiently clear of DOTTIE FEELS GOOD who was taken up the track resulting in LIZZADRO being checked and race roughly.

ROCKING LOU– Pre-race blood.  Post-race swab.

LIZZADRO– Approaching the 300 metres was checked and raced roughly when DOTTIEFEELS GOOD was taken up the track by IRK MCGLURK when that runner shifted out when not clear.
