Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – THE FLYING PAINTER 3YO WESTBRED PACE (1609MS)
AMARETTO ANGEL (A Markham) – Tired over the concluding stages.
RACE 2 – NEW BENCHMARK RACING FIBRE PELLETS PACE (2100MS)
FLYIN DISCO (J Young) – Utilised the sprint lane to win the event.
CATCH THE RED EYE (A Markham) – Driver A Markham was fined $200 under the provisions of rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
JIMMY RECARD (L Steer) – Hung outwards during the score up.
HES A COOL MACH (T Lynn) – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
ISAIDBOO (J Suvaljko) – Driver J Suvaljko was reprimanded under the provisions of rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
RACE 3 – BANANA FEEDS AUSTRALIA PACE (1609MS)
General: This event commenced approximately 2 minutes after the scheduled starting time owing to HEAVENLY WAGE undergoing a pre-race veterinary examination.
ROCKIN THE TREND (J Suvaljko) – Driver J Suvaljko was fined $200 under the provisions of rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
CALLMEWHATUWANT (T Lynn) – Shifted outwards under pressure in the home straight.
HEAVENLY WAGE (B Edman) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after taking charge of the driver during the preliminary and was found suitable to start.
RACE 4 – SWAN DRAUGHT BUNBURY PACING CUP MARCH 30TH PACE (2569MS)
ALLWOOD MACH (R Eyre) – Shifted outwards under pressure in the home straight. Driver R Eyre was fined $200 under the provisions of rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
RACE 5 – THE JONES BOYS 4YO+ WESTBRED PACE (1609MS)
MANGO TANGO (S Steele) – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
BONSCO CIRCUS (R Warwick) – Placed back in the draw for future mobile barrier events.
RACE 6 – BREATHE ACCOUNTING PACE (1609MS)
NORTHERN GAZE (C Playle) – Pulled hard during the score up and contacted the barrier arm shortly before the start was effected, momentarily racing roughly as a consequence. A warning was placed on the geldings mobile barrier manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MILITARY STAR (T Wheeler) – Contacted the barrier arm during the score up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small abrasion to the left nostril, otherwise no obvious abnormalities.
RACE 7 – TINT CITY 4YO+ WESTBRED PACE (2100MS)
INEEDA DRINK (T Lynn) – Broke gait racing towards the front straight on the final occasion. Trainer B Lynn was advised the gelding will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
SWEET ROSEY (S Jelf) – Out of position when the start was effected. Retired from the event racing in the home straight to receive the bell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the off-hind pastern and was treated. Trainer S Jelf was advised the mare will be stood down from racing until a veterinary certificate of soundness to race is produced.
