Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
Stewards approved a late driver change for CAPPY THE FIREY in race 8 with C Voak, who was indisposed, replaced by C Peterson.
RACE 1 – HAPPY 40TH TO THE COLLIE KING TRENT WHEELER PACE 1609MS
COHLIN (E Suvaljko) – Hung outwards at various stages. Performed below market expectations. Driver E Suvaljko put forward the gelding was unable to quicken through the fast second half mile rate recorded.
ACOLTNAMEDSU (G Hall Jnr) – Utilised the sprint lane to win the event.
RACE 2 – CAPTAIN AHAB – CHECK OUT WESTBRED PACING FACEBOOK PACE 2100MS
BALINGUP BOY (T Wheeler) – Hung inwards under pressure.
RACE 3 – JONES BOYS GWM – NEW ALPHA HYBRID UTE PACE 1609MS
CANDY APPLE NZ (M Munro) – Broke gait racing towards the front straight on the first occasion. Trainer M Munro reported the mare broke gait when releasing the shortener hopple pins. Mr Munro was advised the mare will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the successful completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 4 – TABTOUCH PACE 2569MS
LETS GET ROCKIN (G Hall Jnr) – Utilised the sprint lane to win the event.
RACE 5 – SKY RACING PACE 2100MS
CHALKY WHITE (L Wallrodt) – Over-raced during the early and middle stages. Placed back in the draw for future mobile barrier events.
BLACKSAMURAI (M Miller) – Raced roughly racing out back straight on the final occasion. Held up for clear running racing for a short distance racing into the home straight.
FIVE STAR KEVIN (C Peterson) – Held up for clear running for a short distance racing into the home straight.
RACE 6 – OAKFORD STOCKFEEDS 3YO WESTBRED SOUTH WESTERN DISTRICTS COUNCIL DERBY PACE 2100MS
SUGAR DELIGHT (C Lewis ) – Shifted outwards under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
MONEY TIME MADNESS (K Harper) – Gave ground over the concluding stages.
HONOUR THE EAGLE (T Wheeler) – Gave ground over the concluding stages. A warning was placed on the filly’s racing performance.
CABERNEIGH (E Suvaljko) – Utilised the sprint lane to win the event.
RACE 7 – JARDAN WINES PACE 2503SS
ROCK THE BANK (E Suvaljko) – Galloped out when the start was effected. A warning was placed on the gelding’s standing start barrier manners.
LUHRSY (T Lynn) – Raced roughly after the start.
LUKES MISTAKE (S Suvaljko) – Galloped out when the start was effected. A warning was placed on the gelding’s standing start barrier manners.
RACE 8 – NEXUS MAIDEN PACE 2100MS
CAPPY THE FIREY (C Peterson) – Raced roughly after the start.
IDEALINCIDER (T Lynn) – The off fore plate became loose during the preliminary. Stewards acceded to a request from trainer P Costello to race without shoes in front. Under-went a pre-race veterinary examination and found suitable to start.
