Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 – OXLEY FEED MILL YARRA VALLEY PACING CUP (2ND HEAT) (2150 MS)

HARLEY BLUE – Inconvenienced rounding the first turn while trailing Ruby Wingate which galloped. Shifted out to work forward to lead. Gave ground over the concluding stages.

MISTER JIMARINGLE – Nathan Jack not listed in the racebook as the driver.

RUBY WINGATE – Showed gate speed to lead leaving the front straight on the first occasion. Driver Zac Phillips reported that once he removed the hopple pins after finding the lead, the mare resented the action and galloped. Mr Phillips shifted the mare inside the line of marker pegs to avoid causing interference to other runners and returned to the track, when able to do so, without causing interference to any other runner in the back straight on the first occasion. Ruby Wingate was placed on her last chance to race truly.

BUS STOP – Out of position during the latter stages of the score up and a warning was issued against the geldings barrier manners.

ANIMADO – Inconvenienced rounding the first turn as Ruby Wingate galloped. Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn before utilising the sprint lane in the home straight.

SASSYYOLA – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the mare racing on more than 200 previous occasions and was cleared of any obvious abnormalities.

 

 

RACE 2 –HUNTLY LIFESTYLE ESTATE BY LINCOLN PLACE PACE (1650 MS)

BEAU BRONSKI – Hung in under pressure while giving ground rounding the final turn and contacted marker pegs. A warning was issued against the geldings racing manners.

NAI HARN BAY – Galloped during the early stages of the score up before fulfilling its position at the start. Given one last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Warning issued. Driver Liam Older was further issued with a caution for a lack of control for failing to make sufficient effort to maintained a straight course as the gelding commenced to shift out under pressure.

REINDER – Tired to be beaten 50m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.

RACE 3 – NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS PACE (1650 MS)

ZWICK – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and early stages of the home straight.

MYNAMEISRUBY – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn. Shifted in and contacted the final marker peg prior to entering the sprint lane. The all clear was delayed to review the replays to ensure no advantage was gained. Upon review stewards were satisfactory the mare did not improve its position as the wheel raced over one marker peg. All clear was given on the judges numbers. Driver James Herbertson was issued with a caution for contacting marker pegs.

PINNACLE HOPE – Pre race veterinary examination due to the gelding racing on morse than 200 previous occasions with no apparent abnormalities detected.

TERROROAN – Held up rounding the final turn and locked wheels with Icanmotor entering the home straight. No clear run in the home straight.

ICANMOTOR – Pulled hard middle stages. Locked wheels on entering the home straight.

NOBLE JULIA – Pulled hard middle stages. Held up for a clear run until the early stages of the home straight.

PLAYNICE – Michael Bellman not listed in the race book as the driver. Galloped during the score up and was out of position as the start was effected and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races.

RACE 4 – SKYVALLEY NZ @ ALDEBARAN PARK YARRA VALLEY TROT CUP (HEAT) (1650 MS)

IM ABOVE THE LAW – Raced roughly under pressure and unable to be fully tested in the home straight.

RACE 5 – POSTER BOY @ LLOWALONG FARMS PACE (2150 MS)

MAHINDI NZ – Pulled hard middle stages.

TUPELO BEACH – Pulled hard middle stages.

KATHYS FREE – Driver Jack Laugher was fined $100 under Rule 170(2) for leaning back and allowing his upper body to protrude outside the confines of the sulky in the home straight on the final occasion. In taking this course of action, Stewards took into consideration Mr Laugher’s driving record having recently been cautioned under similar circumstances.

CHIRRIPO – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and early stages of the home straight.

EYE SEE PHILTRA – Pulled hard during the score up.

 

RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND 2YO MAIDEN PACE (1650 MS)

MAJOR CRUNCH – Hung out after the start and a warning was issued. Held up and no clear run over the concluding stages.

DESTINY KEPT – Pulled hard score up. Inconvenienced and contacted the sulky of Williams in the back straight on the first occasion. Drivers Jackie Barker, and Alex Ashwood (Williams) were questioned regarding the incident. It was established that Destiny Kept was racing fiercely and being restrained by Ms Barker as Williams improved forward and commencing to cross the filly. It was also established upon review of the replays that Major Crunch hung out and shifted Destiny Kept slightly wider as Williams crossed which resulted in Destiny Kept making slight contact to the back of the near side wheel of Williams and that gelding receiving a flat tyre. Given the contributing factors, the circumstances where noted. Destiny Kept continued to pull hard throughout.

WILLIAMS – Sulky contacted and received a flat tyre leaving the back straight on the first occasion.

OUR LONELY WOLF – Slow to score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued against the geldings barrier manners. Driver Rita Burnett was issued with a caution for continuing to apply the whip when out of contention in the home straight.

 

RACE 7 – HAEUSLERS ECHUCA 2YO MAIDEN PACE (1650 MS)

HUDDY SAY YES – Raced roughly during the early stages of the score up and a warning was issued against the gelding’s barrier manners. Tired to be beaten 73.5m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.

 

RACE 8 – ALWAYS READY @ HARAS DES TROTTEURS TROT (2150 MS)

GUNNY TEE – Pulled hard middle stages.

TETRA – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the mare racing on more than 200 previous occasions with no apparent abnormalities detected.

ONETWOSKIPPERFEW – Paced and galloped during the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.

JILLIBY TOPGUN – Tired over the latter stages to be beaten 50m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.

SUNNYCOAST SECRET - Galloped as the start was effected and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races

 

RACE 9 – CAPTAIN CRUNCH @ ALABAR BLOODSTOCK PACE (1650 MS)

BLAZING SHANNON – Tightened leaving the back straight on the first occasion.

MOST TRIUMPHANT – Locked wheels rounding the final turn. Driver David Miles explained that the mare was slow to improve when he shifted out to secure a clear run and Im A Shadow Boxer improved quickly to his outside resulting in the two runners locking wheels.

CAN FEEL THE FURY NZ – Trainer Kate Hargreaves was cautioned for failing to advise of the intended tactics having dual runners engaged in the race. Driver Ewa Justice was cautioned for tightening the racing room of Blazing Shannon leaving the back straight on the first occasion. Contacted the final marker peg prior to entering the sprint lane. Ms Justice was issued with a caution for contacting marker pegs.

IM SHADOW BOXER – Pulled hard middle stages. Inconvenienced and locked wheels rounding the final turn when improving quickly around Most Triumphant.

ALBY TWO CHAINS – Driver Zac Phillips was issued with a caution for leaning back and allowing his upper body to protrude outside the confines of the sulky in the home straight on the final occasion.
