Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – PETERSEN WESTBROOK CAMERON LAWYERS PACE (2150 MS)
MATADOR NZ – Trainer Zac Steenhuis cautioned for failing to advise Stewards of the tactics to be adopted on the stable runners.
RACE 2 –J&A MAZZETTI PAINTING TROT(2150 MS)
SOSO MAJESTIC – Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising the sprint lane.
EVERYBODYLOVESME– Contacted the final marker peg prior to utilising the sprint lane in the home straight.
USED TO BE A MAID– (Return from injury) Underwent pre-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormality.
WHOS THE MAN – Pulled hard middle stages and held up for clear running on the final turn and in the home straight.
QUEEN OF QUEBEC – Driver Ryan Duffy replaced Nathan Jack (unavailable).
BACARDI SPIRIT- Out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.
RACE 3 – FORTY WINKS BENDIGO MAIDEN PACE (1650 MS)
LAZENBY – Tired to be beaten 135m into last placing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality and the gelding will now be stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
WINSUM BELLA – Driver Ben Gledhill cautioned for failing to have the mare in position at the start. Tired to be beaten 85m into 8th position and now placed on last chance to race competitively.
SWEET ARPEGGIO- Broke gait soon after the start and will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.
RACE 4 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND 3YO TROT (1650 MS)
SPEAKS VOLUMES – Broke three times in running and trailed the field. The gelding has been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
WITH APLOMB – Inconvenienced by Speaks Volumes passing the 1200m.
DALEY WATERS- Began badly and will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.
JOHNNY SIX KIDS– Raced roughly during the score up and again after the start. The gelding will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.
RACE 5 – WOODLANDS STUD PACE (1650 MS)
ANIMADO – Held up for clear running on the final turn. Contacted the final marker peg prior to utilising the sprint lane in the home straight.
FRANCESCO – Pulled hard outside the leader. Gave ground from 300m to be beaten 43m into last placing.
TRINITYS DELIGHT – Gave ground in home straight after leading to be beaten 22m.
JOEYS HANGOVER – (200+starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy. Neither check revealed any abnormality.
BETTORSWEETVICTORY - Held up for clear running on the final turn.
RACE 6 – ALDEBARAN PARK TROT (2150 MS)
General – The all clear was delayed to review vision of the start in regards to Cabin Crew. After doing so, Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had been afforded a fair start and the all clear was given on the judges placings.
SONNYBOY – (Engaged tomorrow 25/7) Underwent post-race veterinary examination in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy. Neither check revealed any abnormality. Tightened on the first turn by Larr Dees Son.
LARR DEES SON– Driver Dennis Paton cautioned for tightening the racing room of Sonnyboy on the first turn.
DESIGNER VICI– Raced roughly over the concluding stages.
SILENT REVERIE– Raced roughly after the start and placed on last chance in mobile draw.
THATS DUDLEY– Held up for clear running on the final turn and in the home straight.
CABIN CREW – Refused to score up and was out of position at the start. The gelding trailed the field and will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.
RYMES- Out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.
RACE 7 – HARAS DES TROTTEURS TROT (2150 MS)
SUGA DADDY – Driver Connor Clarke was reminded of his obligations when activating gear.
ATEGO DAWN – ($6.50) Driver Rodney Petroff was queried regarding the overall performance of the mare which finished in 7th position beaten 23m. Mr.Petroff could offer no explanation for the performance, however stated the mare would derive benefit from its second start following a let-up.
MY HIGH PEAK– Pulled hard outside the lead.
LIZZIES SON– Hung in throughout the score up and out of position at the start. The gelding will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events. Hung in under pressure on the final turn, inconveniencing Azalea Mae.
AZALEA MAE– Gave ground from the 300m to be beaten 40m into last placing. Inconvenienced on the final turn by Lizzies Son.
RACE 8 – GOLD CENTRAL VICTORIA MARES PACE (1650 MS)
OVER THE LINE – ($2.10fav) Driver James Herbertson was queried regarding the overall performance of the mare which finished in 8th position beaten 12m. Mr.Herbertson could offer no explanation for the performance, however did state the mare proved difficult to drive when attempting to drive down to the sprint lane in the home straight when a run presented to the inside of Spun Silver.
SPUN SILVER– Driver Josh Duggan was cautioned for racing inside the line of the final marker peg prior to utilising the sprint lane.
RACE 9 – PRYDES EASIFEED MAIDEN PACE (1650 MS)
JAPANESE MIKI– Driver Stephen Boyington cautioned for shifting ground in the home straight.
REMI MAGIC– Broke under pressure in the home straight and placed on last chanc to race truly.
CINCINNATI– Inconvenienced in the home straight by Japanese Miki.
ATOMIC GLORY– Utilised the sprint lane in the home straight.
RACE 10 – SIMONDS HOMES BENDIGO MARES PACE (1650 MS)
KYLOAN QUEEN – (Raced yesterday 23/7) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy. Neither check revealed any abnormality.
CALYPSO MISTRESS – Broke gait when clear of interference at the 400m and placed on last chance to race truly.
SHES GOING PLACES– Tired to be beaten 52m into 6th placing.
BOND GIRL– Gave ground to be beaten 48m into 5th position.
