OUR UNCLE LES– Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Driver Anthony Frisby was questioned in relation to the overall performance and seemingly below market expectations of the gelding having started $1.85 favourite and failing to run on in the home straight to be beaten 9.4 metres.  Mr Frisby stated his preferred option in tonight’s event was to drive the gelding with cover however found himself in the position outside the leader.  When progressing into the back straight on the final occasion OUR UNCLE LES began to over race and Mr Frisby was of the opinion it was his best option to let the gelding stride forward at that stage while still under a hold.  Mr Frisby also stated that once the gelding found the front and was racing on his own he believed the gelding then switched off over the concluding stages of the event.  Stewards noted the comments of Mr Frisby.

TREACHEROUS KISS– Post-race swab sample was obtained.

RACE 3 – NATIONAL TROTGUIDE PACE – 1730 metres

MOREARTSTHANCLASS– Commenced to tire passing the 600 metres to be beaten 68.2 metres.  In view of the mare’s recent record MOREARTSTHANCLASS will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
