RACE 1 – COASTAL ENGINEERING AND BELTING PACE– 2180m Mobile
SOHO UNDERTAKER – Momentarily raced rough racing into the final turn, shifting out slightly.
MAJOR IDEAL – Checked on the home turn when ALL ABOUT IVY broke gait.
ALL ABOUT IVY – Hung in entering the final turn and raced rough, resulting in the mare contacting the sulky wheel of SOHO UNDERTAKER and break gait. A warning was issued. Stewards in considering the matter were mindful that although ALL ABOUT IVY did hang in, the movement of SOHO UNDERTAKER, albeit minor, did contribute to the incident.
JILLIBY SORRENTO – Tightened on the final turn resulting in its sulky racing inside markers.
SUNSHINE SAINT – Having its first registered race start in over 10 months, performed poorly, beaten in excess of 60 metres. Trainer B Parish was at a loss to explain the sub-standard performance. SUNSHINE SAINT was subsequently stood down from racing until satisfactorily completing one(1) qualifying trial.
ORAVOIR – Checked on the home turn when ALL ABOUT IVY broke gait.
General: The “all-clear” was delayed allowing Stewards to review the final turn where JILLIBY SORRENTO’s sulky wheel raced inside markers. On review it was confirmed that JILLIBY SORRENTO had been tightened down over the markers due the movement of other runners, and as such the “all-clear” was given on the judge’s numbers 1-6-2-4-3.
RACE 2 – LADBROKES RACING CLUB PACE– 2180m Mobile
MIKIYOURSOFINE – Hung in when entering the turns.
FLO JO CARVALHO – Broke in the early stages of the score-up, appearing to jump a shadow, however, was in position at the start.
MEMPHIS – Will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events after breaking gait mid score-up, which resulted in the gelding failing to fill its allotted position at the start.
CEE TEE CHELSEA– Failed to secure clear running over the concluding stages.
RACE 3 – HARVEY NORMAN ELECTRICAL - BURNIE PACE– 2180m Mobile
SCRUB BASHER – Hung out under pressure over the final stages.
CLIFFHANGER – Will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events after breaking gait, free of interference shortly after the start was effected.
MODERN JIVE – Shifted in entering the turn after receiving the bell. This resulted in its sulky wheel brushing a marker. Subjected to a post-race Veterinary Inspection after blood was detected in the gelding’s mouth after the race. On inspection it was confirmed MODERN JIVE had bitten its tongue.
VELOCITY STRIDE – Checked after the start when CLIFFHANGER broke gait.
RACE 4 – TASSIE WASTE SERVICES PACE– 2180m Stand
I WANT IT ALL NZ – Placed on its last chance in the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start conditions after galloping out when the start was effected.
LALIBELA NZ – Hung out leaving the 1400 and when corrected by its driver, shifted in resulting in its sulky wheel brushing a marker.
RANIERI NZ – Placed on its last chance in the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start conditions after galloping out when the start was effected.
SMOOTH DEAL NZ – Stepped away well to lead, tended to over-race and pull hard. Hung in under pressure in the latter stages of the home turn resulting in its sulky racing inside markers.
RACE 5 – STATEWIDE LINEMARKING (TAS) PACE– 2180m Stand
SNEAKY PEAK – Failed to begin in the required manner for which a warning was issued.
Held up for clear running until well into the home straight in the run to the finish.
GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE – Stepped away well to lead.
ROCKS ROY – Had difficulty in securing clear running over the concluding stages.
CAPTAIN DAN NZ – Placed on its last chance in the draw after being fractious prior to the start. Inconvenienced after the start when SAPPHIRE GAMBLER swung sideways.
SAPPHIRE GAMBLER – Swung sideways after the strands were released.
General: Driver T Ford was fined $50 for failing to report to the “all-clear” Steward after being placed 5th [AHR Rule 52(4)].
RACE 6 – RIDGLEY RASCALS - RELAY FOR LIFE PACE– 2500m Stand
JUST FOLLOW ME – Failed to begin in the required manner for which a warning was issued.
SWEET AS LOU – Fractious when called forward by the starter. Slow to muster speed after the start.
BOLD CENTURIAN – Failed to begin in the required manner for which a warning was issued. Raced rough on the final turn. This resulted in BOLD CENTURIAN shifting in and its sulky wheel striking markers.
CRACK THE VAULT – Failed to begin in the required manner for which a warning was issued.
FLEETWOOD ROCK – Fractious when called forward by the starter, as such will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw in future standing start events.
DAZZLE ME NZ – Reinstated in the barrier draw for standing start events after satisfying reinclusion requirements.
RACE 7 – RED GLOVER LEGAL PACE– 2180m Mobile
ARTS CLASSIC – Inconvenienced passing the 600 as CE PE THREE gave ground.
CE PE THREE – Raced wide early progressing to be positioned leading the one-out line. Over-raced and pulled hard, particularly after KIAVINO STRIDE challenged mid-race. Gave ground over the concluding stages, beaten in excess of 50 metres. CE PE THREE was placed on its last chance to race truly.
HORRIE OTARA – Shifted in and contacted markers when held up for clear running on the final turn.
KIAVINO STRIDE – Raced wide from the 1600 when the pace of the race eased. Caught wide when unsuccessful attempting to secure a forward position, subsequently eased to the rear of the field.
General: Stewards questioned the driving tactics adopted on KIAVINO STRIDE, in particular driver N Ford’s decision to race wide from, at or about, the 1600. Driver Ford informed Stewards that he believed the best opportunity for KIAVINO STRIDE to secure its best finishing placing after starting from the second row was to find a forward position, as early as possible. Driver Ford continued, once the pace of the race eased he elected to race wide in search of a more favourable forward position, and looking forward he did not see CE PE THREE, which was racing outside the leader, over-racing. Once approaching CE PE THREE, although clear that the gelding was indeed over-racing, he did apply some pressure, but only for a short distance, as it became obvious that he could not clear CE PE THREE, so with this the case Driver Ford elected to ease KIAVINO STRIDE to the rear of the field. Further, Stewards questioned driver B Davis who confirmed that CE PE THREE had pulled hard and over-raced particularly after KIAVINO STRIDE raced up beside him, and when asked if he would have taken a trail, driver Davis said it would not have been his first preference, however if KIAVINO STRIDE had come quicker, and more pertinently if CE PE THREE had not grabbed the bit the way it had, he may have considered it, but in the end, it was not a possibility. Stewards on considering all put before them, took no action other than to note the circumstances and the evidence of both drivers.
RACE 8 – JACKSONS SECURITY PACE– 1892m Stand
TIGERLICIOUS – Will be excluded from the barrier draw in future standing start events after galloping away, and continuing to do so for some time, which resulted in the mare taking no real competitive part in the event.
WHATTA GOOD REASON – Failed to begin in the required manner for which a warning was issued.
KENS CHIPS – Inconvenienced after the start by the galloping TIGERLICIOUS.
LOU LOUS ALLGOLD – Checked after the start by the galloping TIGERLICIOUS.
TAXI METER – Placed on its last chance in the draw in standing start events after galloping away when the strands were released.
QUEENOFDANCE NZ – Held up for clear running until in the home straight for the run to the finish
ROCK ON PLAYBOY – Inconvenienced after the start due the sideways movement of other runners when TIGERLICIOUS and TAXIMETER galloped.

Supplementary: Multiple trainers were reminded of the obligations in having their registered gear up to date on their horses.
Supplementary: DAZZLE ME NZ, on review was found to be incorrectly drawn in race 6 at the Burnie meeting held on Friday October 11, 2024, when drawn to start from barrier 3. AHR Rule 132(1) states that subject to sub rules (2) and (3) the “draw shall remain unchanged”, and since the error was not found until after the event, barrier positions could not be changed as suggested as possible in AHR Rules 132 (2) and (3). As such no further action was taken, with the result to stand, note the circumstances and remind all responsible for the need to take the required care to prevent any reoccurrence.
