Trainers with multiple runners in a race advised Stewards of intended tactics.
RACE 1 – LIZA STORM - 2180M MS
JUST LIKA DREAM (L. Older) which galloped shortly after start excluded from draw mobile barrier start races.
A warning placed on VINCENTS RAINBOW (D. Ford) which paced roughly in score up.
A post-race veterinary examination of MAJOR POPPI (J. Duggan) which was beaten 161 Metres revealed no abnormality. Trainer B. Heenan advised mare stood down until completes a satisfactory trial.
RACE 2 –SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN PACE - 2180M MS
MIKIYOURSOFINE (H. Van Dongen) caught wide early and obliged to restrain to rear of field when caught wide early. In front straight on completion of lap the gelding contacted driver J. Duggan (KENYA) despite efforts of H. Van Dongen.
A post-race veterinary examination of DREAM MELODY (A. Collins) revealed hopple chaff to near hind leg and will be stood down pending veterinary clearance.
A post-race veterinary examination of THE GANG (D. Ford) revealed elevated heart rate and slow post- race recovery. Trainer to advise should anything arise subsequent to race.
RACE 3 – NORTH WEST PLATE HEAT ONE – 2180M SS
CAN FEEL THE FURY (L. Older) and DAZZLE ME (A. Collins) slow to step away, then DAZZLE ME galloped and took no competitive part and will continue to be drawn ODS.
CAMBRO FLASH (B. Miller) galloped shortly after start and again on completion of a lap before being retired from race. Trainer reported it had dropped both knee boots in running. Stood down until completes a satisfactory trial.
MAJOR DAVVIN (B. Davis) over raced early stages and contacted sulky of JILLIBY JAY SEA (D. Ford).
RACE 4 –BESSER ENGINEERING PACE – 1892M SS
ROCKS ROY (A. Collins) late scratching on veterinary advice at 6.50pm after it had thrown itself down on the track and was unable to regain its feet for a considerable period. A further veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
A warning placed on ASHANTE QUEEN (J. Duggan) which commenced poorly and raced roughly home turn final occasion.
With late scratching of ROCKS ROY, the following betting deductions ordered. All monies on ROCKS ROY refunded with win and place bets less 5C in Dollar Win and Place on face value of the ticket.
Stewards spoke to Adrian Collins regarding his actions when leaving the track in running the reins across his drive and reminded him of his obligations.
RACE 5 –NORTH WEST PLATE HEAT TWO – 2180M SS
A warning placed on ARMA ROLLING STONE (B. Miller) which commenced poorly.
PERFECT CUT (Kayleb Williams) raced roughly shortly after start.
RACE 6 –VINCENT FUNERALS PACE – 2180M SS
The front barrier tape contacted ONLINE MODEL (J. Chibnall) upon release.
RACE 7 –LADBROKES QUICK MUTI PACE – 2180M MS
LAID BACK KENNY (Kayleb Williams) fell to the track as start was called. Trainer G. Smith advised gelding will be excluded from draw and required to complete a satisfactory trial before being eligible to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to near side eye and shoulder which required treatment from veterinary officer.
Reins person K. Williams examined by Medical Edge officers and passed fit to fulfill driving engagements.
The lugging pole on LALIBELA (A. Collins) became detached in early stages of race. Gear inspected and found to be of reasonable quality.
A post-race veterinary examination of SOULWRITER (H. Szczypka) which was beaten 161 Metres revealed it has suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer advised stood down three months, veterinary clearance and a satisfactory trial before eligible to race. R 101 (3) (a).
RACE 8 – COASTAL ENGINEERING & BELTING PACE – 2180M MS
OUTBACK ROCK (B. Davis) which galloped after start will be excluded from draw mobile barrier start races.
