STEWARDS REPORT

RACE 1  –  LET ME PLAN IT EVENTS PACE  –  2500m  Stand

BEAST MODE – Placed on its last chance in the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start conditions after being fractious behind the barrier stands, backing away as the start was being effected and swinging sideways after the start.

GOBSMACKED– Excluded from the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start conditions after failing to begin in the required manner on two consecutive occasions.

CRACK THE VAULT– Inconvenienced after the start due to BEAST MODE’s waywardness and galloped away for a short distance. The circumstances were noted.

General: Driver M Ford was reprimanded for the inappropriate manner he spoke to Race Starter Mr Adam Emery [AHR Rule 162(1)(c)].

RACE 2  –  BESSER ENGINEERING PACE  –  2180m  Mobile

KOZACZYNSKI – Placed on its last chance to race truly after breaking gait free of interference midway through the back straight on the final occasion.

ILLTELLYOUSUMTHING– Excluded from the barrier draw in races conducted under mobile start conditions after breaking gait free of interference shortly after the start was effected.

OBLER– Excluded from the barrier draw in races conducted under mobile start conditions after the gelding jibbed in the early stages of the score-up and then galloped when urged forward to chase the mobile, these two incidents resulting in OBLER being out of position at the start.

RACE 3  –  GREG RAWLINGS BULLDOZING PACE  –  2180m  Mobile

TIGERLICIOUS – Failed to secure clear running over the concluding stages.

RACE 4  –  MA & LJ BATES PLUMBING PACE  –  2180m  Mobile

KELLYS DELIGHT – Surrendered the early lead after beginning well. Severely checked entering the home straight for the run to the finish when OOPSWILLREV blundered and broke gait.

OOPSWILLREV– Tended to hang out. Shifted out on the final turn and when corrected by its driver blundered and broke gait. A subsequent Veterinary Examination could find no obvious issues with the filly. On questioning trainer C Hayes informed Stewards that he would be having his private Veterinary Surgeon assess the filly and more than likely give her a short let up. Stewards deemed the performance of OOPSWILLREV below the required standard and subsequently stood the filly down from racing until satisfactorily completing one(1) requalifying trial.

CHEETAH LODGE– Placed on its last chance to race truly after breaking gait free of interference near the 1500 when eased by its driver. It was noted CHEETAH LODGE tended to race rough, particularly on entering turns.

RACE 5  –  LEIGH PINNER FARM PACE  –  2180m  Stand

ARTS CLASSIC – First registered Standing Start Race. Placed on its last chance in the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start condition after galloping away when the strands were released.

RACE 6  –  NWTLHA  –  2500m  Stand

JUST TIGER – Slow to muster speed after the strands were released.

WE SALUTE YOU– Caught leading the one-out line. Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead mid-race when the pace of the race slackened.

JIMMY THE IRISHMAN NZ– Excluded from the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start conditions after failing to begin in the required manner on two consecutive occasions.

BOLD CENTURIAN– Stepped away quickly to lead the event. Withstood mid-race challenge from WE SALUTE YOU.

ROYAL APPOINTMENT– Placed on its last chance in the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start condition after galloping away when the strands were released.

RACE 7  –  VINCENT FUNERAL SERVICES PACE  –  1892m  Stand

LALIBELA NZ– Placed on its last chance in the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start condition after galloping shortly after the strands were released.

ALAPHILIPPE – Will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw for races conducted under standing start condition after galloping away when the strands were released.

RACE 8  –  CHOICES FLOORING PACE  –  2180m  Mobile

MIKIYOURSOFINE – Excluded from the barrier draw in races conducted under mobile start conditions after the gelding shifted out, mid-way through the score-up, severely checking other runners, thereby obliging the starter to declare a false start.

FORSAKEN ME– Completed the event with a flat near-side sulky tyre. Driver G Rattray confirmed the tyre had deflated mid-race on its own accord.
