STEWARDS REPORT FOR BALLARAT

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted. 

 

RACE 1 – 2CONSTRUCT PACE (1710 MS)

SWEET REVENGE NZ – Held up making the turn into the home straight.

BEST BACK BRUCE– Gave ground in the final lap.

TUPELO BEACH- Held up making the turn into the home straight.

NOSWEETSFORYOU- Withdrawn at 4.24pm on Vets advice and will now be stood down for 28 days.

MAJOR ANNIE– Out of position after breaking gait in the score up and will now continue to be placed out of the draw at its future mobile starts.

 

RACE 2 – ACCURACO PACE (1710 MS)

ETIZ AMODEL – Inconvenienced and held up making the turn into the home straight.

CALYPSO MISTRESS– Raced three in the early stages. Held up making the turn into the home straight.

HOME AND DRY NZ– Held up making the turn into the home straight,

SELF EXCLUSION– Raced three wide in the middle stages.

 

 

RACE 3 – BAM STONE TROT (2200 MS)

BROOKIES BABE– Inconvenienced on the first turn.

MAORI FRANKLIN– The undercheck on the gelding became detached during the race.

FLYING FLYNN– Broke gait on the first turn. Broke gait again during the running of the race and a warning issued.

KARAS DREAM– Raced roughly under pressure in the home straight.

WHATS THE TEA– Out of position in the score up and will continue to be placed outside the draw. Raced wide in the early stages.

XIAOBO– As the gelding had raced the previous day, in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy it underwent pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

TUBS NOW SLIM– Out of position after being fractious in the score up. The gelding will continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

RACE 4 – CAMLEX ELECTRICAL TROT (2200 MS)

AGAINST THE BRIDLE– Broke gait in the score up and a warning issued.

TINEY– Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

LAIR OF THE EAGLE– Pulled hard in running.

NORTHOLT– Broke gait in the final lap and will now be required to trial satisfactorily before being permitted to race again.

RYMES– Broke gait in the score up and will now be placed right outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Broke under pressure and will now be required to trial satisfactorily before being permitted to race again.

 

RACE 5 – VICPOUR 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN TROT (2200 MS)

TAKEN BY WINE– Broke gait in the second score up and caused a false start. No action taken. Checked near the 400m.

MYSTERIOUS PRINCE– Began badly in the third score up and no action taken.

STAROFTHEWIND- As the gelding had raced the previous day, in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy it underwent pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities. Broke gait in the score up and will continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

MISS AVENGER– Pulled hard in running. Checked and broke gait near the 400. When questioned as to challenging the lead passing the bell, Driver Lauren White stated that after pulling hard in running she allowed it to stride forward, and it then settled and raced better whilst racing outside the leader.

KEYANG SADIE– Hung in and sulky contacted near the 500m.

BACARDI LOVER– Out of position in the score up and no action taken. Contacted sulky checked and broke. This resulted in it locking wheels and dislodging its driver.

PRETTY PENNY MAORI– Broke gait in the score up, locked wheels resulting in its sulky being significantly damaged. This resulted in the mare being withdrawn at 8.13pm by order of the Stewards. The mare will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

BLITZER I HOPE– Checked and broke gait near the 500m.

SALUTE TO SUNNY– Checked and broke after the start.

PROSPEROUS– Broke gait near the 1500m.

 

 

 

 

 

RACE 6 – WOODLANDS STUD PACE (2200 MS)

JOHN VINCENT – Tired beaten 74m and a warning issued. Driver Ben Xiriha was fined $200 under AHRR 156(2)(a) for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion shortly after the start.

REINDER– Contacted sulky, checked and broke after the start.

WINGATE GUY– Shifted in after the start, sulky contacted, and a warning issued. Jostled in the home straight and an inquiry adjourned to a date to be fixed.

MARTHA LAVINIA – Tightened shortly after the bell. Jostled in the home straight and an inquiry adjourned to a date to be fixed.

ADMIRALOFTHEFLEET– Out of position after hanging in during the score up and a warning issued.

AMERICAN VICTORY– Raced three wide in the middle stages. Driver Allan McDon ough was cautioned for tightening shortly after passing the bell.

ZU HOFFEN– Tired, beaten 68m and a warning issued.

 

 

 

 

RACE 7 – DELRE NATIONAL FOODS 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN TROT (2200 MS)

NEY DEAN– Broke gait in the score up, caused a false start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Began Badly and trailed the field.

LENNON GRAE– Broke gait in the final lap and a warning issued.

COLUMBIAS GONZALES– Broke gait under pressure and a warning issued.

THE NIGHT QUEEN– Withdrawn at 9.10am on Vets advice and will now be stood down for 28 days.

ALDEBARANSPARTACUS– Raced three wide in the early stages.

ALDEBARAN BRUTUS– Broke gait in running and will now be stood down for a period of 14 days and two satisfactory trials before racing again.

 

RACE 8 – 7PLUS TROTTERS HANDICAP (2200 SS)

CONSTANT - Held up making the turn and obtained an inside run in the home straight.

ARISTOTLE– Shifted out under pressure and a warning issued.

PARIS KAY– Broke gait under pressure. Trainer Kari Males was cautioned for not advising the tactics of her multiple runners in this race.

MITCHELL WRAP– Raced three wide in the middle stages.

 

 

RACE 9 – SOUTHERN CROSS BUSINESS MACHINES TROT (1710 MS)

KEAYANG GYPSY – Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Broke gait in the final lap and a warning issued.

MY HIGH PEAK– Broke gait in the final lap.

 

 

Race 10 – INTERPATH 0-2 LTW PACE (1710MS)

ORCH– Held up over the concluding stages.

FREAK OUT– Tighten, contacted marker pegs and raced roughly after the start.

WRITTENINTHESKY– Hung in on the first turn and a warning issued. Held up making the turn into the home straight.
