After taking evidence from both drivers and viewing the official race replays Stewards were satisfied that Blue Chipped was being eased by driver Charlie Borg at that stage which had contributed to the contact and as such deemed that Mr. Ainsworth was not blameworthy.
Irishmurphy, Officially Shady and Asharah were all held up for clear racing rounding the home turn in the early part of the home straight.
Stewards inquired into the reasons for Asharah being checked and breaking halfway up the home straight on the final occasion. After taking evidence from drivers Ashley Ainsworth (Asharah), Charlie Borg (Blue Chipped) and Rod Barker (Irishmurphy) Mr. Barker pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, for attempting to activated removable gear as his drive commenced to shift out, resulting in Irishmurphy shifting out further resulting in Asharah being contacted and breaking. In assessing penalties Stewards considered Mr. Barkers immediate guilty plea, his excellent driving record with no interference related offences for a period of seven years and the extent of the carelessness which was deemed mid-level. His licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 7 days which will commence at midnight on the 11th of November.

A warning was placed on the racing manners of Malibu Jack.

Stewards questioned drivers David Murphy (Be The One), and James Herbertson (Machavelli) as to the circumstances around Machavelli being placed to the inside of Be The One towards the 450m mark. After taking evidence from both drivers and viewing the official replays were satisfied that Be The One had shifted outwards when driver David Murphy activated gear towards the 500 metres and that driver James Herbertson had directed his drive down to the inside of Be The One simultaneously to that runner being corrected back down the track by its driver. Driver David Murphy was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted back down the pegs which briefly inconvenienced Machavelli. Be The One then shifted out under pressure despite the efforts of driver David Murphy in the home straight and a warning was placed on the mare’s racing manners.

Emer was held up for clear racing room rounding the home turn.
Steward’s questioned drivers John Caldow (Our True Colours) and Ryan Duffy (Amoldo), as to Our True Colours contacting marker pegs rounding the final turn. After taking the evidence of both drivers and viewing the official race replays, it was established that Our True Colours had been placed by its driver to the inside of Amoldo from the 400 metres, with Amoldo then commencing to hang in as it gave ground resulting in Our True Colours being tightened and racing inside marker pegs, at which point driver John Caldow was obliged to restrain his filly. Mr Duffy explained that the gelding had struck the sulky wheel on 2 occasions just prior to release point and then pulled hard thereafter and proved difficult to control. A post-race veterinary examination of Amoldo revealed no apparent abnormalities. Giving the geldings racing manners, Amoldo was placed on its last change to race truly.
