Gawler Harness – Sunday 20th October 2024 -

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – 2024 1800-GOT-JUNK? LEGENDS TROT (HEAT 1)  – 2070SS

SPOTLIGHT (Symon Kittel) which commenced poorly will be excluded from draw in future standing start events.

Warnings placed on BUCKLES (David Smith) and RIOTERRA (Gaita Pullicino) which commenced poorly.

Warning on SAMMY BARBARO (Terry Brown) which galloped approaching home turn final occasion

RACE 2 – 2024 LOWE FARMS FARMGATE FODDER LEGENDS TROT (HEAT 2)  – 2070SS

LORD CHANCELLOR (Nicholas Brown) late scratching at 3:19pm on veterinary advice as lame off hind leg. Stood down 7 days and veterinary clearance required.

A warning placed on QUICK QUAKER (Mark Norman) which reared and delayed the start.

The 10 Metre tape contacted OUR SPITFIRE (Terry Brown) but had no detrimental effect.

A warning placed on SAINT SEBASTIAN (Wayne Hill) which galloped after the start.

RACE 3 –HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY TOBY GIRARDI PACE  – 1609MS

Leaving front straight final occasion TREACHEROUS ROCK (Dean Girardi) checked and broke when contacted the rear of sulky on HESTON BLUE STREAK (Katie Wilson) who had been inconvenienced when MIXED MESSAGES (Mathew Harding) racing in one out line paced roughly. A post-race veterinary examination of MIXED MESSAGES revealed no abnormalities. Trainer to advise should anything arise post-race

RACE 4 –LYNDOCH MOTORS PACE  – 2070MS

A post-race veterinary examination of LOVE TO DEAL (Lochie Cook) which led before commencing to give ground from 400 Metres revealed no abnormalities. Trainer to advise should anything arise post-race. Trainer felt the mare not suited to race tempo.

RACE 5 –   ANGLE VALE HARDWARE FODDER & LANDSCAPING PACE -1609MS

BEARTASTIC WRITER (Jason Kittel) which galloped at start will be excluded from draw in future mobile barrier start races.

Reinsperson Lochie Cook (ROSTOVA) fined $100 under R162(1)(www)(b) for allowing his horse to shift ground up the track after entering home straight final occasion and hinder WHITE STAR VILLAGE (Ryan Hryhorec) .

Whitestar Village had been applying pressure to move EMRITES (Wayne Hill) up the track and when wheels cleared shifted into running of EMRITES,

RACE 6 – 2024 DF & E KEMP & SON GAWLER PLATINUM CUP (FINAL) – 2070MS

A post-race veterinary examination of COCO MIA (Wayne Hill) $1:55 Favourite which gave ground near 450 metres to be beaten 211 metres revealed elevated heart rate. Trainer to advise should anything arise post-race.

RACE 7 –  LADBROKES SA CONCESSION DRIVERS SERIES PACE – 1800MS

IMA WORKINCLASSMAN reinstated in draw future mobile barrier start races.

RACE 8 –  CLUSE BROS TYREPOWER PACE – 2070MS

No claims lodged.

RACE 9 –  2024 PHIL HOUSTON MEMORIAL TROT– 2070SS

MAJESTIC LEGEND (Mathew Harding) commenced slowly.

EFFICIENTLY (Des Nolan) galloped from barrier.

MAGICAL TRIX (Kevin Weidenbach) which galloped on two occasions stood down until completes a satisfactory trial.

Adjourned inquiry Globe Derby Park 14th October 2024 Race 5.

Stewards after taking evidence from David Smith (JANES GEM) and Danielle Hill (ANDOVERLOV) viewing films of the incident in front straight final occasion where ANDOVERLOV contacted and punctured offside sulky tyre on GEORGY GIRL (Ryan Hryhorec) issued a fine of $200 under R168 (1) (a) against Danielle Hill. It was noted JANES GEM was checked when the contact occurred as ANDOVERLOV shifted up the track.
