Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – TWO WELLS BAKERY TROTTERS HANDICAP -  2070SS

MAGICAL TRIX (W Hill) underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as had not raced since September 2022 and was passed fit to race.

A warning was placed on WHITE STAR WHIZZ (S Pascoe) which commenced poorly and checked TROTTENEM OKAY (K Hryhorec).

VINAIGRETTE (K Wilson) and ALGORITHM (N Brown) locked sulkies momentarily shortly after the start.

Reinsperson Michael Smith (STAR OF PATRICK) was advised to ensure he places his right foot back into footrest in a timely manner after the start of a race.

Reinsperson Terry Brown (SAMMY BARBARO) was reminded of his obligation to report to the all clear Steward when placed in a race.

RACE 2 –  PODIATRY CARE GAWLER TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609MS

ALLEYES (S Pascoe) which galloped in the back straight final occasion will be stood down until completes a satisfactory trial.

BEWARE THE FURY (S Forby) which galloped in the front straight first occasion will be stood down until it completes a satisfactory trial.

A post race veterinary examination of MASTER COMBATANT (B Loades) revealed it had suffered a bleeding attack. The gelding will be stood down three months under R101(2), a veterinary clearance and must complete a satisfactory trial before being accepted to race.

Reinsperson Samantha Pascoe (ALLEYES) was fined $100 under R156 (iii) for using whip with overt force.

ATOUT (D Hill) will be reinstated in the draw for future mobile barrier races.

RACE 3 – MUSCLE M UP USA @ TRUMP BLOODSTOCK EMERGING STARS TROTTERS SERIES (HEAT 3) – 2070MS

The weather condition was changed to showery.

PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN (D Hill) which was commencing to give ground near the 400 metres galloped and a warning was issued.

TRANQUIL BILL (M Harding) was inclined to lay in under pressure near the 100 metres.

THE CLIPPER (J Kittel) was reinstated in the draw for future mobile barrier races.

RACE 4 – LADBROKES EASY FORM PACE - 1609MS

LAYLAS PRINCESS (S Pascoe) was unable to obtain clear running over the concluding stages.

Reinsperson Ben Loades (MIDNIGHT SPORT) was reminded of his obligation to complete a warm down lap unless given permission not to do so.

MAJORHOLENMYPOCKET (D Hill) was reinstated in the draw for future mobile barrier races.

RACE 5 -CLUSE BROS TYREPOWER PACE – 1609MS

Reinsperson Bernadette Page (THE LADYBIRD) was reprimanded under R162(1)(ww) for allowing her drive to shift ground up the track over the concluding stages.

Stewards directed that splash sheets and mud guards be fitted.

RACE 6 – DF & E KEMP & SON PACE – 1609MS

When questioned as to why he had left a favourable trailing position to race without cover Michael Smith (BARNEY FELLA) stated that when CELESTIAL ZODIAC (K Weidenbach) was unable to cross AMMICCHI (S Newman) it restrained and he felt the position outside the leader would be suitable for BARNEY FELLA. In his opinion with the run it had thereafter it had been disappointing

The reinsperson licence of Tony Pullicino (GIANT JACKSON) was suspended under R256(2)(a) for 10 days after pleading guilty to using his whip in more than a flicking motion.

RACE 7 – ANGLE VALE HARDWARE FODDER & LANDSCAPING PACE – 1609MS

RACE 9 – LYNDOCH MOTORS PACE – 2070MS

MIKI STEAMED HOME (M Smith) which broke gait shortly after the start will be excluded from the draw in future mobile barrier starts.

MIKI STEAMED HOME was tightened for room between TREACHEROUS ROCK (D Girardi) and DANCING FINN (J Holberton) who both shifted ground near the 150 metres and raced roughly. Dean Girardi and Joshua Holberton were both reminded of their obligations.

A post race veterinary examination of PERFECT CUT (M Borg) which was beaten 95 metres indicated it may be incubating a virus. Trainer Mario Borg is to advise Stewards of post race outcome.

Trainer Mario Borg advised Stewards that post race PERFECT CUT had nasal discharge and has been treated.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT FROM PORT PIRIE 13TH JULY 2024

Trainer Dale Afford advised post race blood tests from MISS IDAHO had revealed no significant findings, however the filly was going to be spelled.
