Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
BROWN EYED KATE – Gave ground over the concluding stages.
CASTLES IN THE SKY – Gave ground over the concluding stages.
CHAMPAGNES – Broke shortly after the start. Placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Broke approaching the home turn on the second last occasion.
NOBLE COUNT NZ – Broke in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
R2 - GREG DALMAYER ARARAT RSL PACE (1ST HEAT)
SMOKIN STREPO – Post-race samples were taken.
JOHNNY REDCOAT – Underwent a veterinary examination in accordance with HRV’s aged horse and lifetime starts policies.
KEMPSEYS DELIGHT – Pre-race samples were taken. Underwent a veterinary examination in accordance with HRV’s aged horse, lifetime starts, and consecutive day racing policies. Broke after the start. Placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
FREAK OUT – Inconvenienced after the start.
IM MOLLY MALONE – Tired over the concluding stages. A warning was issued.
SEA HUNTER – Checked after the start.
WINDGATE GUY – Underwent a veterinary examination in accordance with HRV’s lifetime starts policy. Checked after the start.
DOCTOR GO JOH – Inconvenienced after the start. Pulled hard in the middle stages of the event.
R3 - RAY SULLIVAN ARARAT RSL MAIDEN TROT
MAORIS AVENGER – Broke after the start. Placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Paced and broke passing the winning post on the first occasion.
KENTUCKY JIM – Underwent a veterinary examination before and after the event as it was returning from a long spell. Broke in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Inconvenienced passing the winning post on the first occasion. Paced and broke leaving the back straight on the final occasion.
CHILLHUNNYBUNNY – Post-race samples were taken.
APACHEVALLEY – Checked after the start.
TROTTENEM MAGIC – Broke in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. Will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile barrier events. Inconvenienced passing the winning post on the first occasion.
R4 - CLAYTON HOLCOMBE ARARAT RSL STAWELL PACING CUP (1ST HEAT)
TEST OF FIRE – Broke in the score up at the first attempt of a start which caused interference to runners on the second row. A false start was declared as a result. Placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Had a tendency to pull hard during the middle stages of the event.
THE SPORTZ STAR – Inconvenienced behind tiring runners, racing in the back straight on the final occasion.
PRIORITISE – Driver Ryan Backhouse was fined $100 under rule 156(3) for using his whip in an unapproved manner over the final 200m.
R5 - GERRY HIRST ARARAT RSL MAIDEN PACE
BLACK OPAL JACK – Tightened and contacted a marker peg approaching the home turn on the second last occasion. Hung in and contacted several marker pegs in the back straight on the final occasion. Post-race samples were taken.
ALWAYS BE TECHY – Broke twice in the score up before filling its position at the start. Placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Raced roughly at various stages of the event and again under pressure in the run to the finish. A warning was issued.
DE BEAU ROCK – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Broke entering the home straight on the final occasion. Placed on its last chance to race truly.
THELONGROADOFHOPE – Hung in throughout the event. A warning was issued. Tired over the concluding stages. A warning was issued.
KEAYANG KAUNA – Tightened in the back straight on the final occasion and contacted several marker pegs.
THE ULTIMATUM – Finished the race with a flat offside tyre.
R6 - BRAD HUNT ARARAT RSL VICBRED VOUCHER PACE
CHAMPAGNE WALSH – Hung out, contacted a sulky and broke gait, leaving the back straight on the final occasion. A warning was issued.
SWISS LIGHTNING – Severely checked and broke gait leaving the back straight on the final occasion.
WE FAVOUR ROSIE – Had its near side sulky wheel contacted leaving the back straight on the final occasion.
TELLMEBOUTIT – Hung in during the score up. Placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Driver Kerryn Manning fined $100 under rule 156(3) for unapproved whip use over the final 200m of the event.
MAXY BOMBER – Shied entering the home straight on the first occasion. A warning was issued.
STEAM MACHINE – Hung in at various stages of the event and contacted several marker pegs. Placed on its last chance to race truly.
