Stewards collected out of competition samples and conducted stable inspections throughout the week at the premises of trainers with horses engaged in tonight’s race meeting.
Race 1 - LADBROKE IT! QUALIFYING PACE 1660M
Jewel Melody (Bernie Hewitt)inconvenienced in the run to the finish when Kash Tin was checked and shifted out.
Sweet Agenda (Seaton Grima)hung in during the score up. Shifted out on entrance to the home straight when leading. A warning was issued to connections in relation to the mares racing behaviour.
Luvareschs (Shane Graham)held up in the early stages of the home straight.
Kash Tin (Brendan Barnes) checked in the run to the finish when racing to the outside of Luvareschs which shifted out.
Jungle Baby (Doug Hewitt)inconvenienced in the run to the finish when Kash Tin was checked and shifted out.
Itzmineontheline (Cameron Hart)inconvenienced in the run to the finish when Kash Tin was checked and shifted out.
General
Shane Graham (Luvareschs) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving under AHR rule 168 (1) (a) for shifting out in the run to the finish when insufficiently clear of Kash Tin which caused that gelding to be momentarily inconvenienced. A fine of $200 was imposed and in assessing the matter of penalty Stewards took into account Shane Graham’s guilty plea and good driving record under this rule.
Race 2 – 2024 THE JC MCMULLEN 1660M
Iron Clad (Grant Dixon)raced roughly after the start was effected. Failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested
Always Locksley (Luke McCarthy) failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
Duke Of Scotland NZ (Pete McMullen) held up for clear running on the home turn before shifting in to the sprint lane. Contacted the near side sulky wheel of Kalasa NZ when shifting down.
Kalasa NZ (Narissa McMullen)sustained a near side flat tyre on entrance to the home straight when Duke of Scotland NZ shifted down to the sprint lane.
Nicks Pick (Angus Garrard)failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
General
Chantal Turpin (Alta Magacian NZ) was fined $400 under AHR rule 156 (2) (a) for engaging the elbow and shoulder when applying the whip in the concluding stages.
Pete McMullen (Duke of Scotland NZ)was fined $200 under AHR rule 168 (1) (a) for careless driving in that when shifting his gelding down to the sprint lane he contacted the near side sulky wheel of Kalasa NZ which may have placed that gelding at some disadvantage in the run to the finish.
Race 3 - 2024 GARRARDS SUNSHINE SPRINT CONSOLATION 1660M
Jimartee (Ricky Thurlow)inclined to shift away from the marker pegs when leading.
Send It (Shane Graham)inconvenienced in the run to the finish when Blazing Home NZ shifted out from a position to the inside.
Targaryen NZ (Chloe Butler) held up for clear running on the final turn and galloped at the 200 metres when racing in restricted room to the inside Kanena Provlima which had shifted down in advance at the same time. Stewards placed no blame on horse or driver and noted the matter as a racing incident.
Classie Washington NZ (Angus Garrard)caught three wide in the early stages and was unsuccessful in obtaining a forward position which resulted in the gelding being restrained to the rear of the field.
General
Cameron Hart (Blazing Home NZ) was fined $200 under AHR rule 168 (1) (a) for careless driving for shifting out abruptly in the run to the finish which caused inconvenience to Send It and Loyalist NZ.
Race 4 - ATLAS COPCO FASHIONS ON THE FIELD 3YO FEATURE 2138M
Gem Punter Pete (Trista Dixon)hung in on the final turn and contacted marker pegs and a warning was issued.
Race 5 – 2024 THE HAYDEN (G2) 2138M
Charge Ahead (Adam Sanderson)raced roughly after the start was inclined to race ungenerously at various stages of the race. Connections were advised to take corrective measures.
Ellis Street (Nathan Dawson)failed to run on as anticipated after leading the race and finished in last position beaten 16.5 metres.
Cheer Leader (Grant Dixon)held up in the concluding stages of the event.
Apollo Dreamz (Mathew Neilson)out of position at the start.
General
Hot Rod Harry was declared a late scratching at 6:50 PM when it was established the gelding was lame in the near side foreleg. The stewards adopted the veterinary officer's recommendation that the gelding not be permitted to race until a veterinary clearance is provided by connections.
Matthew Neilson (Apollo Dreamz) was fined $200 under AHR rule 162 (1) (j) for failing to maintain position until reaching the starting point.
Race 6 - 2024 GARRARDS THE GOLDEN GIRL (G1) 1660M
Ladies In Red (David Moran)locked sulky stays momentarily in the run to the finish with Aardies Express.
Aardies Express NZ (Cameron Hart)locked sulky stays momentarily in the run to the finish with Ladies In Red.
Its Ebonynivory (Ricky Thurlow)failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
Tay Tay (Jack Callaghan)steadied at the 200 metres when Its Ebonynivory shifted in momentarily before being corrected by its driver. Failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

Trainer Jason Grimson was fined $100 under AHR rule 273 (6) (b) for presenting Illavabubbles NZ to race in incorrect gear. Jason Grimson was fined a further $100 under AHR rule 273 (6) (b) for presenting Aardies Express NZ to race in incorrect gear.
Race 7 – 2024 BETAVET WAYNE WILSON PALEFACE ADIOS CLASSIC (G3) 1660M
Forty Love (Aaron Dunn)cast a plate during the running of the race which may have placed the colt at some disadvantage.
Race 8 - 2024 GARRARDS SUNSHINE SPRINT (G1) 1660M
Don Lou (Seaton Grima)completed the event with a near side flat tyre which deflated from the home straight with a lap remaining which may have placed the gelding at some disadvantage.
Nerano NZ (Leonard Cain)hung in on entrance to the home straight which placed driver Leonard Cain at a disadvantage when attempting to shift the gelding wider to clear running.
Taipo NZ (Brad Hewitt)failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

Adelle NZ (Nathan Dawson)held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
Defensive Guy (Angus Garrard)broke after the start was effected and will be excluded from the draw in future mobile starts.
Race 10 - RQ NAIDOC CELEBRATION 2024 BAND 5 PACE 2138M
Hay There Joe (Nathan Dawson)raced three wide for the first 600 metres before working forward to obtain the position outside the leader.
Amami (Brendan Barnes)out of position at the start. Raced in restricted room on the final turn when avoiding the tiring Hay There Joe resulting in the gelding contacting marker pegs.
Rock Supreme (Byyce McElhinney)pulled hard when racing in a rearward marker peg position. Inconvenienced on the final turn when shifting wider on the track and improved onto the back of the tiring Hay There Joe
