Race 1 - CATCH THE FIRE AT SOMERSET FARMS MAIDEN PACE 1660M
TRANQUIL TRYSH – Hung out after start. Broke gait near the 400m. Gave ground badly over the final 500m to be beaten in excess of 130metres. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory and declared the filly ineligible until it trials satisfactorily,
IMA BALLERINA – Hung in and contacted marker posts when leading leaving the 400m. A warning was issued.
Race 2 - BOOK YOUR TABLE @ PACERS & CHASERS PACE 1660M
WESTERN ACTION – Locked sulky stays with Man Of Action NZ from the 400m.
MY ULTIMATE LOUIE – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
HATTIES JEWEL – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.
THREE CHORD RIFF – Held up for a clear run at a vital stage in the straight.
MAN OF ACTION NZ – Locked sulky stays with Western Action from the 400m.
SPELLMAKERS CHARM – Raced roughly for a short distance when racing wide rounding the home turn.
Race 3 - RQ SUPPORTS RACING INDUSTRY SAFETY PACE 1660M
FILLY THIRTEEN – Driver fined unapproved whip use.
ACE LOMBO – Broke gait near the 300m. Given the horse's previous record in this regard the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
FOR NO REASON – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward initially to the position outside of the leader.
ROYAL STUDLEIGH – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
NASHVILLE BART - Broke gait near the 1300m. Given the horse's previous record in this regard the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
General: Layne Dwyer (Filly Thirteen) was fined $400 in accordance with Q.R.I.C. penalty guidelines for applying the whip in an unapproved manner over the final 100m by using the whip in a continuous manner. AHR.156(3)
Race 4 - LEADING EDGE SECURITY PACE 2138M
GOODTIME CRACKER – Broke in the score checking runners on the 2nd row necessitating a false start. Again broke in the score up at the second attempt to start the race. The gelding will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events. Driver fined improper actions.
PINK RIVER DIAMOND – Inconvenienced when caught behind tiring Treacherous Gabby leaving the 400m.
SPECIALANDIKNOWIT – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.
TREACHEROUS GABBY – Gave ground from the 400m after racing outside of the leader.
General: A false start was declared on the first occasion after runners on the second row were checked when Goodtime Cracker (Nathan Rothwell) which was drawn at barrier two (2) galloped. A false start was again declared at the second attempt to start. Starter reported that he inadvertently activated the false start button.
Nathan Rothwell was fined $300 for acting in an improper manner by striking Goodtime Cracker with the whip during the second score up whilst the gelding was in a gallop and out of position. AHR. 168(1)(e).
Race 5 – PSP FRIDAY FRENZY PACE 2138M
OCTOBER RACKETEER – Driver questioned re tactics and performance. Explanation noted.
FLO RYDA NZ – Held up for a clear run to the finish.
JUDITH GWENDA NZ – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
SHACKOUTTHEBACK – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.
JOANS RISING STAR NZ – Hung in when racing wide leaving the 400m.
B MAC C NZ – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.
General: Adam Richardson was questioned regarding the tactics on October Racketeer which saw the gelding set a substantial lead when leading. Mr Richardson advised that although no pressure was applied to the gelding to obtain the lead from barrier one it failed to settle and overraced. He further advised that subsequent to the race in discussions with the trainer it would be the intention to make gear changes to an endeavour to get October Racketeer to settle in future races. Stewards noted this undertaking.
Race 6 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE 1660M
HES SWEET – Inconvenienced on the home turn.
KERBANG – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
BRETTS RED – Checked on the home turn when Lonestar Lad galloped.
IM BOO NZ – Was obliged to race wide for the majority of the event.
FRANCO MACHO NZ Inconvenienced on the home turn.
LONESTAR LAD – Broke on the home turn after initially becoming unbalanced when steadied as the gelding was endeavouring to be moved wider to the inside of Blue Suede Rocka. Given the horse's previous record in this regard the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
Race 7 – LADBROKES COMMUNITIES UP TO NR75 PACE 1660M
BETTING ORIGIN – Raced wide in the early stages before working forward to the lead approaching the 1000m.
ART JESTER – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.
