Race 1 - LADBROKES EASY FORM BAND 5 PACE     1660M

O B Legal NZ – Held up for a clear run at a vital stage in the straight.

Three Rivers NZ – Held up for a clear run at a vital stage in the straight.

So Sirius NZ – Left a one-wide trailing position near the 1300 m and worked forward to the position outside of the leader near the 1000 m.

Tiger By The Tail – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.

Overraced and pulled hard during the event.

R Eleven Art NZ - Hung out during the score and continued to hang out during the event which resulted in the gelding not availing the use of the sprint lane in the run to the finish. Driver advised the gelding resented the near-side burr as a result of racing on the marker posts and it would the intention to remove the burr if the gelding was again drawn on the inside. Stewards noted this undertaking. Contacted a marker post when racing in restricted room to the inside of Muscle Bart near the 1300 m.

Amami –Held up for a clear run at a vital stage in the straight.

Race 2 – A ROCKNROLL DANCE AT SOMERSET FARMS BAND 4 / BAND 2 PACE  2138M

Art Jester – Held up for clear running in the later stages of the straight.

Targaryen NZ – Held for clear running to the finish.

Big Shadow – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward initially to the position outside of the leader.

Scotch En Ice – Raced three-wide with cover over the final 800 m.

Pacifico Dream – Raced wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader near the 1300 m.

Ok Boomer NZ – Raced wide over the final 800 m.

Race 3 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY DI REILLY QUALIFYING PACE            2138M

Rocknpenny – Hung in and contacted a marker post near the 400 m.

Luvbite – Contacted a marker post near the 300. Driver fined.

Collect A Dime – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.

Bobby Waterhouse NZ – Raced three-wide from the 1000 m.

Midnight Calm – Contacted marker posts when racing in restricted room near the 300 m.

Alta Equus – Held up for a clear run to the finish.

We Always Have Faith NZ - Held up for a clear to the finish.

General: Lane Dwyer (Luvbite) was fined $100 for allowing the sulky to contact marker a post when leading leaving the 400 m. In determining penalty Stewards noted Mr Dwyer’s previous record regarding this rule. (AHR.163(1)(c)).

Race 4 - PELICAN WATERS RESORT QUALIFYING PACE (B DIV)            2138M

Promising – Raced outside the leader before giving ground badly over the final 400 finishing in last position beaten 48.5 metres. An examination by the veterinarian subsequent to the race found a slow post-race recovery.  Inquiry adjourned into driving tactics.

My Ultimate Victor – Inconvenienced when caught behind the tiring Promising leaving the 400 m.

Racing Time – Caught racing wide in the early stages before working forward but after an unsuccessful challenge for the position outside of the leader was restrained to the rear of the field.

General: Stewards opened an inquiry into the driving tactics and overall performance of Promising. The gelding was urged forward by Brendan Barnes from the start to race outside of the leader but was under pressure from the 500 m. Mr Barnes was also questioned regarding his decision to not take a trail when Racing Time moved forward three-wide near the 1300 m. After taking initial evidence from Brendan Barnes and the trainer Gemma Hewitt Stewards adjourned the inquiry to undertake a review of betting activities on the race and the previous racing record of Promising.

Race 5 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MARES BAND 5 PACE            1660M

Captain Of Speed – Hung in and contacted a marker post near the 300 m.

Lady Digby – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.

Race 6 - AUSTRALIAN PACING GOLD GOLD BULLION 3YO FILLIES FINAL  1660M

Majorita Jujon – Inconvenienced when held up behind the tiring Merry Jewel leaving the 300 m.

Merry Jewel – Gave ground badly over the final 400m after racing outside of the leader.

Synchronizer – Gave ground badly over the final 400m after working hard to establish to lead.

Shackouttheback – Broke gait near the 1300 m and again near the 450 m. The filly was stood down pending a satisfactory barrier trial.

Tamarah – Raced three-wide from the 1000 m.

Soap Opera - Raced three-wide over the final 1000 m.

Race 7 - AUSTRALIAN PACING GOLD GOLD BULLION 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS FINAL        1660M

Hot Rod Harry – Hung out after the start. Inconvenienced when Dele Row broke gait resulting in the gelding striking and puncturing a sulky tyre of Dele Row near the 1300 m

Lets Go Bailey – Hung out and broke gait during the score. The gelding will be placed on its last chance in the draw.

Chicago Bart – Trainer reprimanded for failing to notify the registered gear for the colt. (AHR273(6)(b).

Bronski Zulu – Inconvenienced when Dele Row galloped near the 1300m. Raced wide until working forward to the position outside of the leader near the 1000 m.

Dele Row – Broke gait when being manoeuvred into restricted racing room near the 1300 m. Driver fined careless driving.

General: Pete McMullen was fined $200 for being careless when manoeuvring Dele Row wider on the track near the 1300 m where limited racing room existed which resulted in Dele Row becoming unbalanced and breaking gait resulting in its near side sulky tyre being struck and punctured inconveniencing both Hot Rod Harry and Bronski Zulu. (AHR. 168(1)(a))

Race 8 – CHANGEOVER @ BURWOOD STUD MARES QUALIFYING PACE   1660M

Torque Like Motion – Broke gait after the start. The mare will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events until Stewards are satisfied it can perform in the desired manner. Hung in and contacted a marker post near the 200 m.

Our Ultimate Ivy NZ – Fractious leaving the pre-race circle.

Madam Maggie – Left a one-wide trailing position near the 1200m and worked forward to the lead near the 900 m.

Race 9 – WOLF SIGNS TROTTERS BAND HANDICAP      2138M

Tumult – Broke gait on the turn out of the front straight on the first occasion and galloped for a considerable distance taking no competitive part in the race. After review of the mare’s recent record a warning was issued on this occasion

King City NZ – Broke gait near the 1800m and galloped for a considerable distance taking no competitive part in the race. After review of the gelding’s recent record a warning was issued on this occasion

Tam Oshanter – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position in the lead.

Zealous Spur NZ – Fractious when called to the tapes delaying the start of the race.

Funny Face NZ  - Fractious when called to the tapes before galloping at the start. The mare will continue to be drawn wide in standing start events.

 

Race 10 – CHANGEOVER @ BURWOOD STUD MARES OPEN PACE            1660M

Elouisa Dale NZ – Broke gait in the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued.
