Race 1 - LADBROKES EASY FORM BAND 5 PACE 2138M
SAINT VERAN – shifted in and contacted a marker peg at the 800 metres. |
MAJOR PERRY NZ – failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested. |
KICKATINALONGPONY – inclined to hang out throughout the race when racing three back on the marker pegs. |
Race 2 - HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY RACHEL BEATON QUALIFYING PACE 1660M
ROCK OF DELIGHT – Slow to muster speed at the start and was slightly out of position when the start was affected. |
Race 3 - WOLF SIGNS MARES BAND 5 PACE 1660M
MERGE RIGHT – Held up for clear running in the concluding stages. |
JUNGLE BABY – out of position at the start and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile starts. |
SHES FULLOFSPIRIT NZ – broke during the score up and was out of position when the start was affected. Connections were advised the mare will be placed outside of the draw in future mobile racing. |
Race 4 - RACING & SPORTS.COM DIVIDED OPEN PACE 2138M
DEUS EX NZ – failed to run on in the concluding stages of the race and finished in 6th position beaten 35.7 metres. Connections explained the gelding had a short let up and hadn’t raced for a month and will derive benefit from the run. It was further explained Deus Ex NZ is better suited over the mile. |
Race 5 – CHANGEOVER @ BURWOOD STUD MARES QUALIFYING PACE 1660M
NYOTA – broke gait free of interference at the 1100 metres when the pace in the one wide line slackened to a minor degree. Connections were advised the mare will be placed on its last chance to race truly. |
MIKI MAGIC – off side sulky wheel struck by Robyn X at the 200 metres. |
ROBYN X NZ – contacted the off side sulky wheel of Miki Magic when that mare shifted wider at the 200 metres which resulted in Robyn X NZ galloping for a short distance. General Stewards inquired into an incident at the 200 metres in which Robyn X NZ broke stride momentarily. After taking evidence from drivers Adam Sanderson (Miki Magic) and Chantal Turpin (Robyn X NZ), Adam Sanderson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving under AHR rule 168(1)(a) and a $200 fine was imposed. In assessing the matter of penalty, Stewards took into account the adverse track conditions which hindered visibility, and the good driving record of Adam Sanderson. |
Race 6 - PRYDE'S EASIFEED EASIPERFORMANCE TROTTERS MOBILE 2138M
GAZ MAN NZ – broke under pressure at the 300 metres losing considerable ground. Connections were advised a warning will be placed on the gelding’s race behaviour. |
TOP OF THE MOMENT NZ – broke stride leaving the 400 metres when trailing three wide behind Ultimate Eddie NZ. Top Of The Moment NZ was placed on its last chance to race truly. |
VICTREE HILL – checked at the 300 metres when Top Of The Moment NZ galloped. |
ADELLE NZ – out of position at the start. General Mudguards and splashsheets were affixed to all sulkies as a result of the deteriorating wet track conditions. Nathan Dawson (Adelle NZ) was reprimanded under AHR rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain position behind the starting gate until reaching the start. |
Race 7 – STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE BAND 5 PACE (B DIV) 2138M
CONGO LINE – held up for clear running in the concluding stages of the race. |
General Stewards inquired into an incident just past the winning post at the conclusion of the race in which Nurburgring NZ was contacted by Congo Line which shifted out. After taking evidence from drivers Chloe Butler and Matt Elkins, it was established Congo Line was held up for clear running in the concluding stages and driver Matt Elkins stated he was preparing to clear his vision after the finish when the gelding ran out. Stewards reminded Matt Elkins of the importance of safety at any stage of the race and to show more care in similar circumstances. |

No racing incidents. |
Race 9 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MARES OPEN PACE 1660M
BETTOR ROMANCE – failed to run on in the concluding stages and finished last in last position beaten 75.6 metres. A veterinary inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities. Connections advised the mare did not handle the adverse track conditions. |
