General

Stewards questioned Scott Hewitt driver of Mikibequick, Narissa McMullen driver of Aphrodite, and Paula Sapio driver of Sargeant, regarding Mikibequick commencing a three wide run from the rear of the field near the 800 metres then racing four wide, shortly thereafter, into the back straight on the final occasion. After taking evidence from the drivers, viewing the official race videos and giving regard to their own observations, Stewards established that as Mr Hewitt commenced to shift three wide near the 800 metres Mikibequick dropped the bit at which time Mr Hewitt offered the gelding some encouragement. Simultaneous to this Narissa McMullen had commenced to shift three wide two runners ahead of him.
