Race 1 – PRYDE'S EASIFEED BIOMARE TROTTERS MOBILE 1660M
DARCYS FIREBALL – Gate speed to lead then tendered to over-race for the majority of the race
GAZ MAN NZ - Broke gait losing considerable ground as the start was affected. The gelding will be drawn wide in future mobile events for a minimum of two (2) consecutive successful starts.
SON OF A SUN NZ – Failed to pre-race circle. Broke gait after the start and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile events.
KODA DA MODA –Shifted out in the front straight in the run to the finish. Re-included in the mobile draw after successfully attaining the minimum Q.R.I.C. policy standards.
CALL ME TROUBLE NZ - Out of position candy pole and will continue out of the draw in future mobile events.
Race 2 – BURWOOD STUD 2YO MAIDEN PACE 1660M
SURPRISE BABY– Beaten for early speed.
CHEETAH CHICK – Gave ground over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten in excess of 29 metres.
STAY DREAMY – Fractious when leaving the pre-race circle prior to the start.
Race 3 – WOLF SIGNS TROTTERS RATING HANDICAP 2138M
JUSTABITLIKESULLY – Raced roughly on multiple occasions during the run before yielding ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 50 metres. Based on previous disclosed form a last chance to race competitively was placed on the gelding. A post – race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
NATTY PAGGER– Fractious and reared at the start.
CASCATA – Broke gait at approximately 350 metres. A warning was issued.
LOOK FOR TASCOTT – Severe check at 350 metres when Cascata broke gait.
Race 4 – VALE PAM HOPPER PACE 1660M
OUR ULTIMATE LUKA– Hung out in the front straight in the run to the finish.
ROLLYARRRZ NZ - Broke gait losing all competitive chance prior to the dispatch point. The gelding will be drawn wide in future mobile events for a minimum of two (2) consecutive successful starts.
STUDLEIGH MARK - Caught wide early then restrained to the rear of the field.
CANADIAN LASS NZ – Worked forward from a mid-field trailing position to lead the one (1) wide line in the front straight with a lap remaining.
Race 5 – NUTRIEN EQUINE PACE 2138M
MIGHTY IDEAL – Hung out momentarily in the back straight resulting in a momentary locking of stays.
CAPTAIN DAN NZ – Caught wide early before working forward to lead the one (1) wide line approaching the 1500 metres.
MONOPOLLIE – Momentarily inconvenienced in the back straight in the final lap when Mighty Deal hung out despite the driver’s efforts.
Race 6 – I H CAPITAL PACE 1660M
SPLASHNDASH – Caught wide early stages worked forward to lead the one (1) wide line then secured cover in the front straight when Buddy Perfect worked forward to lead the one (1) wide line
POCKET BOOK NZ – Caught wide in the early stages and restrained to the rear of the field.
MACS A DUDE– Had difficulties obtaining clear running in the front straight in the run to the finish.
BUDDY PERFECT – Left a mid-field trailing position approaching the turn into the front straight with a lap remaining to progress to lead the one (1) wide line with approximately 1100 metres remaining.
General: Driver Matthew Elkins (Buddy Perfect) was reprimanded for allowing his body to protrude outside the sulky in the final lap of the event (AHRR 170(2))
Race 7 – RACING & SPORTS.COM PACE 1660M
STUDLEIGH ANNE– Led the one (1) wide line early before securing cover when Captain Nemo worked forward to lead the one (1) wide line
EPIC ERNIE– Over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
SHES IN LINE NZ– Caught wide early and restrained to rear of the field.
CAPTAIN NEMO NZ – Raced wide middle stages to lead the one (1) wide line at approximately 950 metres
Race 8 – GARRARDS & HOUND PACERS BAND HANDICAP 2138M
GO THE RED– held up on the home turn when endeavouring to attain an inside run before gaining clear running in the later stages of the front straight.
BANGKOK DEEJAY – Galloped out as the start was affected losing considerable ground. The gelding was placed on last chance standing start draw.
OUR MAJOR DAY – Galloped out as the start was affected and will be drawn on the extreme outside in future standing start events.
SO SIRIUS NZ - Galloped out at the start and placed on last chance draw.
AMAMI– Galloped out at the start and a warning was issued.
FRANKIE FEROCIOUS - Commenced a forward move in the back straight in the first lap in an endevour to search for the lead however Shane Graham (Might Jolt) increased the tempo which obliged Frankie Ferocious to race without cover thereafter. The gelding gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 35 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer Ben Crosby (Frankie Ferocious) acknowledged that the gelding was disappointing even considering the run. Mr. Crosby advised that in similar circumstances the gelding will be driven with cover and it will be intention to advise drivers that this in his opinion best moving forward. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery and trainer Mr. Crosby was advised to monitor the gelding and advise stewards of any abnormalities in the ensuing days.
Race 9 – LADBROKES BIG BETS PACE 1660M
HOT ROD HARRY– Broke gait at approximately 400 metres for no apparent reason and will be placed on a last chance to race truly
O B LEGAL NZ - Shifted out marginally on the turn into the front straight in the first lap.
COMMODORE JUJON – Led the one (1) wide line early Sustained a flat near side tyre on the turn out of the front straight after the bell which placed the gelding at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
POST PAINTER NZ – Caught three (3) wide early then locked stays momentarily with Commodore Jujon through from Post Paine shifting in and leader O B Legal NZ shifting out marginally. Shifted out significantly on the turn into the back straight and hung out in the back straight for the majority thereof before shifting out under pressure in the run to the finish. Connections were advised to consider gear adjustments and the mare was stood down to trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before racing again.
LAST TIME JOE– Fractious in the score-up by circling again in the initial stages before fulfilling the correct barrier allocation.
General: Driver Luke Sutherland (Post Painter) was questioned regarding his driving tactics in the event in particular in the front straight to get the bell when persisting to challenge three (3) wide for the lead. Mr. Sutherland explained that in his opinion he was committed to a forward position and was caught unawares when challenging Commodore Jujon which was endeavouring to cross O B Legal NZ before the near side sulky wheel Commodore Jujon being punctured placing that runner at a disadvantage. Stewards whilst acknowledging Mr. Sutherland is inexperienced, this being his fifth race drive was advised to give more room in similar circumstances and take further endeavours correcting the mare in the back straight and again in the front straight in the run to the finish when the mare shifted ground. Post Painter was barred from racing until a satisfactory trial is performed with connections advised to make necessary adjustments to the gear to prevent a repetition.
