Race 1 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND BAND 4 / BAND 2 PACE 2138M
Aphorism (Shane Graham) inclined to hang out particular on the final turn.
It Aint The Money NZ (Cameron Hart) broke gait when challenging for the lead at the 1600 metres and lost valuable ground. Paced roughly on entrance to the front straight and galloped shortly after losing further ground before being retired from the race. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off side hind leg. The Stewards adopted the veterinary surgeon’s recommendation that It Aint The Money NZ not be permitted to race until a veterinary clearance is tendered by connections.
Sam Is Perfection (Brendan Barnes) held up for clear running in the latter stages of the race.
Race 2 - TAB CONSTELLATIONS BAND 5 PACE 2138M
Courageous Saint (Adam Sanderson) checked at the 600 metres when held up behind the tiring Pelosi.
Delightful Dude NZ (Will Rixon) hung in at the 800 metres and contacted marker pegs before being corrected by its driver.
Pelosi (Alan Donohoe) gave ground in the concluding stages. A veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
General
Stewards questioned Alan Donohoe (Pelosi) into the driving tactics adopted. After settling in a position one out two back, Alan Donohoe moved the mare out three wide at the 1600 metres and gained the position without cover at the 1400 metres. Pelosi remained in that position until commencing to yield ground rapidly in the back straight and finished in last position beaten 67.9 metres. Alan Donohoe explained the mare had been racing well and recording fast final sectionals without luck in its previous starts. He said the connections gave instructions to race the mare more forward. Mr Donohoe further explained he anticipated Crime Writer to move forward at some stage and race without cover and thus provide him with a trail. Trainer Anna Woodmansey was disappointed with the mare’s performance and intends to have bloods analysed from Pelosi during the next week. Stewards requested Ms Woodmansey report any adverse findings in this regard.
Race 3 - CANADIAN CLUB QUALIFYING PACE 1660M
General Montana NZ (Adam Sanderson) raced roughly at the 1400 metres but quickly settled by its driver.
Cala Jane (Doug Hewitt) hung in at the 1400 metres and contacted marker pegs.

Brendan Barnes (Perfect Cut NZ) was fined $200 under AHR 156 (3) for applying the whip in a continuous manner in the concluding stages.
Race 4 - 2022 STALLIONS AUSTRALASIA DARRELL ALEXANDER TROTTING CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL (G1) 2647M
Riley Moment NZ (Pete McMullen) galloped out at the start and lost considerable ground. After considering a good record in this regard, a warning only was issued.
Sobomba (Matt Elkins) galloped out at the start and lost ground. In view of previous offe3nces in this regard, Stewards advised connections Sobomba will be excluded from the barrier draw in future standing starts.
Justabitnoisy (Leonard Cain) inconvenienced for clear running at the 300 metres when held up behind the tiring Melpark Magic
Race 5 - KELATO ANIMAL HEALTH NR60-75 FEATURE 2138M
Twentyeightblack (Chris Geary) bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of AHR rule 101, Twentyeightblack will be barred from racing for 3 months and a veterinary clearance will be required from connections. Twentyeightblack will be required to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards at the conclusion of this embargo before racing again.
Teddy Feels Good (Shane Graham) inclined to race roughly on the first turn when positioned outside the leader.
Race 6 - 2022 GOLD COAST TURF CLUB MR FEELGOOD OPEN (G3) 2138M
Deus Ex NZ (Brendan Barnes) gave ground appreciably from the 400 metres and finished in last position beaten 68.6 metres. Connections advised the gelding worked hard in the early stages of the race to gain a forward position and when beaten at the 400 metres was allowed to drop out.
L L Cool J NZ (Adam Sanderson) held up for clear running in the concluding stages of the race.
Rockin Marty (Brad Hewitt) broke gear during the initial score up causing a false start to be declared. This was verified by officials and further action was taken.
Race 7 - 2022 COBBITTY EQUINE FLEUR DE LIL LADYSHIP STAKES (G3) 1660M
Town Echo NZ (Cameron Hart) checked at the 300 metres when The Honey Queen NZ broke gait.
The Honey Queen NZ (Luke McCarthy) galloped free of interference at the 300 metres and lost all chance. After considering a previous offence in this regard, the mare was barred from competing at licence meetings until such time it can requalify.
Race 8 - 2022 AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS THE RISING SUN (G1) 2138M
Ripp (Doug Hewitt) pulled hard when racing behind the leader and tired badly in the concluding stages to finish in last position beaten 100 metres. Trainer Bernie Hewitt advised the gelding pulled very hard which contributed to the poor performance. A veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Beyond Delight (Jack Callaghan) sustained an offside flat tyre at the winning post with a lap remaining when the pace in the one wide line eased.
Ideal Dan (Cameron Hart) inconvenienced at the winning post with a lap remaining when the pace of the one wide line eased.
Manila Playboy (Angus Garrard) severely checked from the 400 metres when taken back through the field by the tiring Ripp.
General
Michelle Phillips (Sebs Choice) was fined $400 under AHR rule 156(2) for engaging the shoulder and elbow when applying the whip. Michelle Phillips was reprimanded under AHR rule 162(1)(u) for the manner in which she eased the pace in the one wide line at the winning post with a lap remaining.

General
Rhys Nicholson (Alby Two Chains) was fined $400 under AHR rule 156 (2) for applying the whip with shoulder and elbow action in the concluding stages.
