A number of drivers were randomly sampled for prohibited substances at this meeting.

Race 1 - BURWOOD STUD 2YO MAIDEN PACE           1660M

BOLD PERSONALITY Commenced to tire and yield ground over the concluding stages of the event.

SUN WUKONG Raced wide without cover over the early stages of the event working forward to the position outside of the leader nearing the 1000 metre point of the event.

Race 2 – TESKI CLEANING SERVICES TROTTERS RATING HANDICAP            2138M

SUPPLANTER Yielded ground over the concluding stages. The rear of the sulky was contacted by Panda Fooey leaving the final turn.

MILLY AN EYRE NZ Fractious before the start.

MY RUMOUR HAS IT NZ Stepped and led the event.

PANDA FOOEY Broke gait leaving the 400 metre point of the event and then again when leaving the final turn when improving up onto the sulky of Supplanter. Connections where advised the Gelding will be required to complete one satisfactory requalifying trial prior to resuming racing.

TUMULT Led the one wide line without cover throughout.

Race 3 - CATCH THE FIRE AT SOMERSET FARMS TROTTERS 0 TO 4 WIN HANDICAP            2138M

MIRA SATURN Galloped out at the start.

DOLLYS DUKE Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

JUSTABITLIKESULLY Stepped and led the event Broke gait leaving the 1800metre point of the event and a warning was issued.

THE EMULATOR Galloped out at the start and broke gait free of interference leaving the 1400 metre point. A warning will be placed on the mare for both galloping out and breaking gait.  

TRIAGE Fractious before the start.

GRACIAS NZ Underwent a pre race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer. The Gelding was clear to start.

General

The all clear on this race was delayed when the second placegetter driver B.Barnes requested to view the footage over the concluding stages of the event. After viewing the patrol footage elected not to proceed with a protest and the all clear was declared on the judges numbers.

Race 4 - SELECTIVE MOTORS ALBION PACE 1660M

BATMAN BART Raced wide without cover working forward, after being unsuccessful in obtaining a forward position nearing the 1000 metre point, was restrained to a rearward trailing position.

WESTERN ACTION Broke free of interference leaving the home turn, connections were advised the Gelding will be placed on it’s last chance to race truly.

General

Driver D.Watson license to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days commencing midnight 13th of October 2024 Under AHR Rule 156 (2) for utilizing his whip in an unapproved manner in particular more than a flicking motion and with overt force being applied. The penalty was determined under the QRIC whip policy with more than 6 penalties in relation to this rule in 12 months prior.  

Race 5 – LEADING EDGE SECURITY PACE     1660M

GRUBSCREW NZ Momentarily held up for clear running entering the sprint lane.

POCKET BOOK NZ Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

IDEAL DESIRE Broke gait at the start of the event and will now be drawn to the outside for future mobile starts.

JIMMY BLING Unable to secure clear running over the concluding stages of the event.

Race 6 - WOLF SIGNS UP TO NR90 PACE  2138M

ATTACHMENT Underwent a post race veterinary examination due to the gelding having blood in its mouth post race the examination revealed the gelding to have a loose incisor tooth.

ARODA NZ Held up for clear running leaving the home turn.

General

Stewards questioned the tactics adopted on Aroda NZ by driver G. Dixion in particular the decision to restrain into a 3 fence position and remain there until shifting wider entering the home straight to improve. After taking evidence from G. Dixion he put forward that after being unable to secure the lead after Mr Mclaren begun exceptionally well to lead and attachment who was drawn to the inside of Aroda NZ also beginning well he was unable to secure the position behind the leader over the early stages he had to then restrain and obtain cover on the pegline behind Attachment. He then elected to remain in that position throughout until shifting wider leaving the home turn to improve. When questioned as to why he remained in and did not elect to shift wider he outlined after using the horse at the start he wanted conserve the horse and with the quick pace over the final half would not have made ground and elected to stay on the peg line. He also put forward he was happy with the stallions performance in todays event and as he is second up from a spell will take benefit from the race today.

Stewards noted the explanation tendered and took the matter no further.

Race 7 – PRYDE'S EASIFEED RACING CUBE PACE  1660M

CALF PEN NZ Raced wide over the early stages of the event before being restrained to a rearward trailing position.

ASCOT ANNIE Restrained at the start to a rearward trailing position.

ELEGANT GROOVES Raced wide over the early stages of the event working forward to the position outside of the leader nearing the 1000 metre point. Commenced to race roughly when the number 3 carrying strap became detached over the latter stages of the event.   

JUDITH GWENDA NZ Commenced to over race when racing with cover.

Race 8 - LUNCHBOX LODGE SPELLING FARM NR70-99 VETERANS PACE 1660M

PARAMA NZ Withstood a challenge for the lead over the early stages of the event to lead throughout.

LACEYS LAD NZ Raced wide over the early stages of the event working forward to the position outside of the leader before obtaining cover from Tairlaw Toll NZ nearing the 1000 metre point.

TAIRLAW TOLL NZ Raced wide with cover trailing Laceys Lad NZ three wide over the early stages then obtained the position outside of the leader nearing the 1000 metre.

ROCKTAGONAL Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

BOMBADIER JUJON Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

Race 9 - LADBROKES SAME RACE MULTI UP TO NR70 PACE  1660M

ROCKIN IN PARADISE Surrendered the lead over the early stages of the event.

LAURIE DEE Worked forward from the start to race in the position outside of the leader.

MY ROCKY ROMANCE NZ Caught wide over the early stages of the event and was unable to secure a forward position resulting in the Gelding having to be restrained to a rearward trailing position.

BETTER SHUSH Restrained at the start to a rearward trailing position.

LANAI Restrained at the start to a rearward trailing position.

KASH US BACK Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.
