A late driving change on Flo Ryda NZ in Race 9. from Grant Dixon to Jack Chapple was approved.
Race 1 - LEADING EDGE SECURITY TROTTERS 0 TO 4 WIN HANDICAP 2138M
ALDEBARAN FONZ stepped and led before surrendering the lead in the back straight at approximately 1600 metres.
DOLLYS DUKE slow to begin.
MIRA SATURN broke gait on the turn out of the front straight in the final lap. A warning was issued.
WHIRLWIND WILBUR re-included in the standing start draw after two (2) satisfactory consecutive starts,
AGENT BLACK three (3) wide after the start before progressing forward to lead the event.
SNOWVANDOVA galloped out losing considerable ground, A warning was issued.
NORTHERN HEIGHTS raced wide in the front straight with approximately 1250 metres remaining before working to lead the one (1) wide line.
MORE SURPRISES raced three wide at approximately 1100 metres before securing a two wide trail at approximately 850 metres.
GRACIAS NZ swung sideways at the start resulting in the gelding being slow to begin.
Race 2 – RACING & SPORTS.COM TROTTERS RATING HANDICAP 2138M
VOLTAIN galloped out as the start was affected and will continue out of the draw in standing start events.
MAJESTIC SUNDAY NZ stood flat footed losing considerable ground. The gelding will continue to be drawn wide in future standing start events.
MY RUMOUR HAS IT NZ broke gait losing considerable ground approaching the turn into the back straight after the start. A last chance to race truly was placed on the mare.
BENJI HALL raced roughly entering the front straight in the run to the finish.
GOOD HEART galloped out at the start and will continue to be drawn wide in future standing start events.
General: Driver Matt Crone (Benji Hall) was fined $400 for using the whip with overt force in the front straight in the run to the finish. (AHRR 156(2)(b)(iii))
Race 3 - BURWOOD STUD 2YO MAIDEN PACE 1660M
SAVAGE STORM broke gait on the turn out of the back straight after the start. A last chance to race truly was placed on the filly.
IMA BALLERINA tightened and checked on the turn into the front straight in the run for the finish.
SUN WUKONG raced greenly and hung in on the turn into the front straight tightening the ground of Ima Ballerina which was checked. A warning was issued.
General: Got The Glow (Jack Chapple) swung sideways and fell in the score up. The start was aborted as a result. Acting on advice of the Veterinarian the filly was declared a late scratching at 2.55 p.m. Got The Glow will be required to perform a satisfactory mobile trial and will be drawn wide in future mobile events.
Race 4 - CATCH THE FIRE AT SOMERSET FARMS BAND HANDICAP 2138M
MIRACLE MOOSE NZ galloped out as the start was affected and a last chance draw in standing starts was placed on the gelding.
DESPONDENT re-included in the draw for standing starts as two (2) satisfactory consecutive starts have been completed.
GLOVER NZ re-included in the draw for standing starts as two (2) satisfactory consecutive starts have been completed.
ARODA NZ after gaining cover forth horse on the pegs raced forward to lead the one (1) wide line at approximately 1600 metres.
Race 5 – STANCE EQUITEC PACE 2138M
HEAVENLY WISDOM repelled a challenge to maintain the lead in the early stages of the event.
ARE YOU WITH ME unsuccessful challenge for the lead before yielding ground over the final 500 metres to be beaten 73.8 metres. A last chance to race competitively was placed on the gelding.
GOODTIME CRACKER broke in the score up and out of position start. The gelding will be drawn wide in future mobile events.
SPORTS BOUNTY caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to a mid-field trailing position at 1600 metres approximately.
HIGHVIEW SADLER NZ due to QRIC aged horse policy the gelding was inspected by the Veterinarian and passed fit to start.
JUSTROLLINGAROUND raced wide in the back straight in the first lap to work forward to the lead at approximately 1300 metres.
Race 6 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE 1660M
GINA DEL RAY caught three (3) wide in the early stages until working forward to lead at approximately 950 metres.
IDEAL DESIREchecked and raced roughly at the top of the home straight in the run to the finish.
General: Driver Ryan Veivers (Rocknroll Max NZ was fined $200 for checking Ideal Desire (Layne Dwyer) at the top of the front straight in the run to the finish.
Trainer Richard Hutchinson (Pocket Book) was fined $100 for failing to secure the near side bandage on that horse. (AHRR 273(2)e)
Race 7 – LADBROKES BLACKBOOK PACE 1660M
MIKIBEQUICK beaten for speed in the early stages of the event.
SHACKOUTTHEBACK beaten for speed in the early sages of the event. Held up for a clear run approaching the turn into the front straight when Cougar Express NZ gave ground,
Race 8 - BOOK YOUR TABLE @ PACERS & CHASERS NR70-99 VETERANS PACE 2138M
FIRESTORM RED caught wide early before receiving cover at 1600 metres when Tairlaw Toll (Pete McMullen) crossed to lead the one (1) wide line at approximately 1600 metres.
TAIRLAW TOLL NZ caught four (4) wide initially before obtaining a three (3) wide trail behind Firestorm Red (Mathew Neilson) before working forward again to lead the one (1) wide line at 1600 metres approximately.
Race 9 - PRYDE'S EASIFEED STAMINA PACE 2138M
MAJIC MOMENT NZ tightened and checked on the turn out of the front straight after the start.
JACCKA COOPER NZ raced roughly in the back straight in the final lap. A last chance to race truly was placed on the gelding.
ROCKIN IN PARADISE Raced three (3) wide in the front straight with 1100 metres remaining.
General: The drivers licence of Brent Livingstone (Jaccka Cooper) was suspended for a period of fourteen (14) days for tightening the ground of Majic Moment NZ (Lane Dwyer) resulting in interference on the turn out of the front straight after the start when his sulky wheel was inside the parameters of the rule. Mr. Livingstone pleaded guilty to the offence. Stewards took into account his plea and recent driving history. (AHRR 165(1)b). The suspension will commence at midnight Tuesday 1st October 2024.
