Peter Pins Faith in Sweet Lou
Lot 372 - Sire: Sweet Lou USA | Dam: Front Paige Adda.
A former dual world record holder and Breeders Crown champion, Sweet Lou is undoubtedly the most in-demand stallion in the Commonwealth. He was the leading stakemoney sire in both North America and Australia last year and has regularly topped the two and three-year-old sires’ list in New Zealand.
Albany businessman Peter Capararo, the son of legendary Western Australian breeder-owner the late Harry Capararo, has put his faith in the champion outcross stallion at the 2026 Australian Pacing Gold Perth Yearling Sale at Magic Millions on Sunday, March 1.
Peter’s Adda Equine Stud is offering six superbly bred youngsters – three colts and three fillies – and three were sired by Sweet Lou.
The draft is being prepared by leading horsewoman Debbie Lewis at Hollywood Park, Hopelands.
“You can’t fault any of the colts and they’re all nice looking fillies,” Debbie said.
The first of the Sweet Lou trio is Lot 362, a half-brother to five sub 2:00 performers including the WA Derby placegetter Thenu Came Along and the $120,000 earner Adda Spoilt Major.
The other Sweet Lou colt is Lot 372, a half-brother to the Westbred Classic placegetter Heez Good As Gold and a member of a top American family which produced horses the calibre of the Group 2 The Binshaw winner Alta Intrigue, the Vicbred Final placegetter Getya Wings Out and the NZ Listed winner Coney Island Lou.
Lot 375 is a Sweet Lou filly out of the Dainty’s Daughter Classic and Virgil Queen winner Gota Good Lookadda ($146,000), one of the richest daughters of Harry Capararo’s pin-up pacer Rich And Spoilt.
The Adda Equine draft also includes a colt and a filly by the emerging, young siring force Captain Crunch.
Lot 409, a strongly built Captain Crunch colt out of the Bettor’s Delight mare My West End Girl NZ, figures as a half-brother to the Group 2 placegetters Ima Socialite and Louie Vee and belongs to the same tribe as the great King Of Swing and the Group 1 winners Twist And Twirl and Braeview Kelly.
The Captain Crunch filly, Lot 311, is a half-sister to the former crack racemare Babyface Adda, the winner of 17 races and $255,000 including the Westsired 2YO Classic, Northam Cup and an APG heat. Their dam, the Art Major mare Sonatina NZ, is a sibling to the darling of NZ trotsgoers in the 2000’s One Dream.
Lot 432, a filly by the world champion racehorse and sire American Ideal from the successful Somebeachsomewhere mare Farawayeyes, completes the Adda Equine offering. Bred on the identical cross as last year’s outstanding WA juvenile Ideal Beach, the bay filly is from a half-sister to the prolific Gloucester Park and Albion Park winner Western Arterra.
