Well known harness racing breeder-owner, administrator and benefactor Kevin Seymour has been appointed as Patron of the South Australian Harness Racing Club.
It is in recognition of the Seymour Group’s role as project manager of the revamped Globe Derby Park racetrack and the injection of additional prizemoney into races at the Adelaide headquarters’ track.
Seymour said: “It is great recognition and I am very humbled. It will make me more determined to strive to ‘make harness racing in South Australia great again’.
“It’s amazing, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of helping Globe Derby grow to reach its potential.”
Anne Mowday, the president of the SA Harness Racing Club, said: “Kevin Seymour has supported this Club through the rough times and it is a credit to him that we have achieved what we have. As you know all racing codes go through rough patches, we are privileged to have this man in Harness Racing. Kevin is now an honoured patron of the South Australian Harness Racing Club.”
Seymour has been chairman of the Albion Park Harness Racing Club, a board member of Harness Racing Australia, chairman of Australian Pacing Gold, founder of the Egmont Park stud and one of the sport’s most successful breeders and owners.
He is a Patron of both the Albion Park and Globe Derby Park clubs.
