Australian Pacing Gold’s upcoming online National Mixed Sale has received a boost with a quality packed reduction sale from Tumby Park.

The 29 horse reduction will comprise weanlings, two-year-olds, racehorses and broodmares - many of which are in foal to the country's leading stallions.

They will go under the hammer at the online sale which runs from August 2 to 4.

“I have got about 90 horses on the books from broodmares, weanlings, yearlings to this year’s two-year-olds,” Tumby Park principal Scott Whitton said.

“At some point you have got to have a genuine reduction in numbers and the unfortunate thing for me is the only way to reduce numbers is to sell the horses that people may want.

“I have put some nice horses up for sale. People are going to buy affordable horses and they’ll have horses at the races next week and horses that can genuinely race and can feature and be competitive in Group 1 races.”

The racehorse section of the Tumby Park reduction includes the Art Major two-year-old filly Our Ultimate Jessy, who finished runner-up in this year’s $150,000 Bathurst Gold Tiara.

“She’s a progressive filly who will measure up to the Oaks and NSW Breeders Challenge,” Whitton said.

Talented three-year filly Our Ultimate Luka, who was placed in the $150,000 final of the APG Gold Bullion at Melton and ran fourth in the $200,000 NSW Oaks, is also part of the offering.

“She will target the Queensland Oaks at the end of the month. She’s just behind the best fillies in the country,” Whitton stated.

Among others are the last start Menangle winner My Ultimate Carter, My Ultimate Snowy, a winner of five races at Menangle and a dual Group 1 finalist, My Ultimate Mario NZ, who finished a neck second on debut, and the old warhorse Escalera NZ.

“My Ultimate Carter and My Ultimate Snowy are genuine Saturday night metropolitan horses and Escalera is very sound and loves racing. He has won over $240,000 in prizemoney,” Whitton said.

Tumby Park has also listed six two-year-olds for sale.

“There’s a couple of two-year-olds that Jarrod Alchin has a huge opinion of including Our Ultimate Freddie. He’s back ready to trial,” Scott said.

The line-up of well bred mares in the reduction are by sires including Bettor’s Delight, Rocknroll Hanover, Sweet Lou, Christian Cullen, Always A Virgin and Four Starzzz Shark.
