SOME of South Australia's most promising pacers will clash at Globe Derby on Saturday night.

Each building impressive records, the crew will fittingly match strides in the Emerging Stars Final over 1800 metres.

Collectively, the top six have a tally of 24 wins, 12 seconds and five thirds from 56 starts, with Santa Casa Lane and Quick Dip boasting the best numbers.

Fly The Banner, Buzz Bomb, Tonkawaikon and Apology Accepted round out the six leading lights.

Making a winning debut at the venue last month, Santa Casa Lane has won three of his four subsequent outings for trainer Jeremy Seal.

The three-year-old's only blemish came at his second start when he over raced in Mildura before finishing at the tail of the field as a $1.95 favourite.

To be driven by Michael Smith, Santa Casa Lane has drawn barrier three.

"He just got over excited that night and choked down," Seal said. "He charged the gate and was fired up which led to his downfall.

"I've changed a bit of gear since then and he has been a lot better."

Prepared by astute horseman Tyson Linke, Quick Dip's six starts have netted four wins and a pair of seconds.

The daughter of Downbytheseaside will come from gate nine with Wayne Hill in the cart.

The most experienced of the above-mentioned group, Buzz Bomb had had 18 starts for five wins and seven seconds.

A member of the successful Paul Cavallaro team, Buzz Bomb has three wins and two seconds from five outings this campaign.

Cavallaro will take the reins behind the three-year-old son of Art Major, which has drawn four.

Not to be overshadowed by his stablemate, Apology Accepted has registered three wins and a third from six starts for Seal.

"Apology Accepted is a handy type in his own right," Seal said. "I'm very happy with his progress...just wish I was as happy with his draw!

"He'll need some luck from there, but if he gets it, he'll be right in the finish."
