NIGHT two of the Inter Dominion can often make or break a horse's chances of being a serious player or even qualifying for the finals.

If you don't fare as well as you hope on opening night, the heat is on to deliver and earn serious points in round two.

ADAM HAMILTON takes a look at some of the higher profile pacers and trotters in the spotlight on night two at Albion Park tomorrow (Tuesday).

PACERS

SPEAK THE TRUTH (R3, No.2): Exciting local who needs to make the most of gate two with at least a top-three finish to keep his final hopes alive.

Trainer Shannon Price thinks he's right on target.

ROCK N ROLL DOO (R3, No.7): Star Victorian plagued by bad draws. Well-held night one when he didn't look comfortable out wide from a bad draw. He must find a way to be right in the finish despite another awful draw (gate seven).

SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (R4, No.2) Proven topliner. Ran on fairly night one, but must take advantage of barrier two tonight to stay in the mix. He has the gate speed to use his draw and needs to run at least top three.

BETTERZIPPIT (R4, No.7): Solid fourth on opening night and sure to be fitter, but drawn wide this time and needs at least another top-four finish to stay alive. Jason Grimson is making some gear changes so he won't hang like he did last Friday.

TROTTERS

QUEEN ELIDA (R5, No.3): Superstar trotting mare who was rundown in the biggest shock of night one. Trainer Brent Lilley suspects she tied up a little and is tipping improvement. Drawn to make amends.

MAORI LAW (R5, No.8): The 2021 Inter Dominion champ is on the comeback trail from his latest injury. Has had his third run back from more than a year out when he did some work and tired late for seventh on night one. He must fire tonight to have any hope of making the final.

PLYMOUTH CHUBB (R6, No.2): Ok, he's not in the danger zone, but round two is more about confirming he is a huge player for the final. Upset Queen Elida opening night to emerge as a serious force in the series. Can he beat the champ Just Believe this time?
