Agriculture Victoria investigating sudden horse deaths

Harness Racing Australia (HRA) is aware of an ongoing investigation into the sudden deaths of horses in Victoria and is in constant communication with Agriculture Victoria as this situation progresses. HRA will continue to keep industry informed as updates come to hand.

HRA stresses that only officlal information sources should be shared and encourages all participants to continue to monitor their horses for any unusual signs, paying particular attention to any horse that displays an elevated temperature, lethargy or are off their feed.

Participants should report any sudden deaths or onset of illness in their horses immediately to their local vet, Agriculture Victoria or via the emergency animal disease hotline on 1800 675 888.
