Horticulturist - Full Time - Club Menangle

Club Menangle is Australia’s premier harness racing and events complex boasting some of the largest and most versatile facilities in Sydney’s southwest. The club operates both Trackside at Menangle Park Paceway and the Menangle Country Club.

We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on horticulturist to join our team. The successful candidate will make their mark delivering outstanding gardening maintenance and landscaping at both our Country Club and Trackside venues for our guests to enjoy.

About the role:

• Landscape maintenance, restoration, and design for the precinct
• Install and cultivate functional and ornamental plants
• Transplant and prune shrubs and small trees
• Weed landscape beds and assist with mulching
• Identify and treat potential pests or diseases
• Provides professional advice on the selection, ordering, planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs, ground covers and turf grasses
• Provide plant care advice to other team members
• Report on WHS issues or risks

About you:

• Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions
• High attention to detail and organisation skills
• Have the physical ability to perform manual handling and heavy lifting
• Demonstrate ability to work independently, efficiently follow instructions and adhere to all safety directions

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree/Certificate in horticulture or a related field (desired but not essential)
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in landscaping or working in horticultural environment
• Valid drivers’ licence and reliable transportation
