Jordan Chibnall has been selected as the Tasmanian representative at the Australasian Young Drivers Championship in Victoria next month.

Chibnall, 20, was an automatic selection after winning the 2021 Tasmanian Junior Drivers Premiership with 38 wins.

At the time of writing she has driven 72 winners, of which 32 have been in 2022, 22 of those have been in Tasmania.

Chibnall arrived in Tasmania to take up an opportunity with the Ben Yole stable in March 2021, and returned back to her home state of Victoria in June this year, with her life partner Conor Crook.

She recently drove her first metropolitan winner on the Lisa Bartley trained Just Ralph at Melton in late October.

The nine-race Australasian Young Drivers Championship will see heats conducted from 6 December at Melton before moving to Ballarat, Maryborough and Bendigo before the final heat on Inter Dominion Grand Final night at Melton on 10 December.

The last Tasmanian to win the series was Gareth Rattray in 2010 when held in New South Wales.
