Enormous Interest for TAB Eureka Slots

SUBMISSIONS for slots in the world’s richest harness race, the $2.1 The TAB Eureka, have closed with enormous interest.

As expected, the race is over-subscribed, and Harness Racing Australia’s independent panel will now finalise the 10 inaugural slot holders

“The panel has extensive experience in: industry regulation; legal; and, commercial functions,” HRA CEO Andrew Kelly said. “It will consider the applicant submissions, undertake appropriate due diligence and provide recommendations back to HRA.”

“We are thrilled with the overwhelming interest in the race, which has been underlined by the number of submissions for slots.

“The interest is from right around Australia and from a broad cross-section of the industry.”

Kelly said the final 10 slot holders, one of which will be Tabcorp as the naming rights sponsor, will be announced on September 2 – 12 months out from the inaugural running of The TAB Eureka at Club Menangle.

Successful slot holders will be required to pay $300,000 up front to secure their slot for the first three years of the race.
