Form Analysis by Luke Humphreys
Race 1:
OVERVIEW: BARACK ENOBRAC (1) is rising in grade but gets the draw to race prominently and was a good second last week over the course and distance after being three wide midrace to the death in fast time. He won over the course and distance from this barrier five runs ago in 1:57.0 so he can give a big sight. KATHYS FREE (11) is the class runner and may very well win but it won’t be easy from the draw. Just the same she won a higher rating race four back and competed in a metropolitan maiden last start. SIANGDI (7) has been racing well and maps to enjoy an economical run. CEE CEE IN AMERICA (9) is the next best.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader?), 3, 4, 5
SELECTIONS: BARACK ENOBRAC (1), KATHYS FREE (11), SIANGDI (7), CEE CEE IN AMERICA (9)
RATINGS: 1 / 11 / 7 / 9 / 8 / 5 / 10 / 3 / 2 / 4
SUGGESTED BET: BARACK ENOBRAC (1) Each-Way
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (8) is a smart type who stormed home to win his maiden first-up and has been second on three successive occasions since but has run very well each time. NOBLE TRICK (10) is the class runner of the field and has been racing respectfully in better races so he will appreciate the drop back in grade but just the same has a tough barrier to overcome. AMERICAN BOXER (9) was two places behind TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (8) at his last run at this venue and has subsequently been over to Globe Derby twice finishing second beaten a nose before leading throughout to win easily. SUPER CODE (2) was narrowly beaten last start and must be given respect.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader?) 3? 4? 5? 6?
SELECTIONS: TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (8), NOBLE TRICK (10), AMERICAN BOXER (9), SUPER CODE (2)
RATINGS: 8 / 10 / 9 / 2 / 7 / 6 / 11 / 1 / 5 / 4 / 3
SUGGESTED BET: TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (8) Each-Way
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: DAYLIGHT (7) finished second last week after trailing the leader and should enjoy a similar run in this and is dropping in grade also. She had little luck two and three runs back whilst her last run at this level was a second to the impressive Rostova when she didn’t get out until too late from the same barrier as what she draws here. ALLSOPP (1) hasn’t run for a couple of weeks but has ability on his day and his last win was in a higher rating race. SPRING DELIGHT (10) recorded his most recent victory in his most recent run at this level and is next best over CARLY PEREZ (9).
EARLY SPEED: 1 (Leader?), 2? 3, 4, 5
SELECTIONS: DAYLIGHT (7), ALLSOPP (1), SPRING DELIGHT (10), CARLY PEREZ (9)
RATINGS: 7 / 1 / 10 / 9 / 3 / 6 / 4 / 8 / 2 / 5
SUGGESTED BET: DAYLIGHT (7) Each-Way
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: KEAYANG CRIPPA (8) had put the writing on the wall on a couple of occasions prior to his very impressive victory from the death last week in a race at this level. He romped in by roughly 17 metres and that would have done his confidence the world of good so there is no reason why he can’t win again. SOAR (2) brings different form lines to effectively the remainder of the field and his best is good enough. His second to Into The Harkness three back is great form for this. TO THE NINES (1) broke through for his maiden victory three back and hasn’t been far away subsequently and draws well. CHEERS POVERTY (6) continues to race consistently.
EARLY SPEED: 1, 3, 4, 5? 6 (Likely Leader)
SELECTIONS: KEAYANG CRIPPA (8), SOAR (2), TO THE NINES (1), CHEERS POVERTY (6)
RATINGS: 8 / 2 / 1 / 6 / 7 / 9 / 3 / 5 / 10 / 4
SUGGESTED BET: KEAYANG CRIPPA (8) Each-Way
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: OUR VINCENT CAN GOGH (8) was seventh in two Melton Free For All’s three and four runs back prior to a second place to Powersofpersuasion at this level over 1790 metres and a victory over the course, distance and grade last week. He drops back to the second row for this, but he looked very good last week. MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (4) was a course, distance and grade winner last start and prior to that competed in the Stawell Cup series. His stablemate HOT DEAL (9) is the choice of Ryan Backhouse, and his best is obviously good enough a la his course and distance victory three back. IMPERIALS REASON (7) is racing well and can finish close-up again.
EARLY SPEED: 1, 2, 3 (Early Leader?), 5
SELECTIONS: OUR VINCENT CAN GOGH (8), MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (4), HOT DEAL (9), IMPERIALS REASON (7)
RATINGS: 8 / 4 / 9 / 7 / 6 / 3 / 2 / 1 / 5
SUGGESTED BET: Boxed Trifecta 4, 8, 9
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: BETA THAN LOVE (7) never saw clear air from inside the second line last week and maybe it might be a similar tale here considering he has the same barrier again but if he has a bit of luck, he is the probably the safest bet in the race from an each-way perspective. PRIORITISE (4) has been over to Globe Derby for his last two starts and has recorded comfortable victories on each occasion. FENG SHUI STAR (6) was left alone when winning last week and now faces a grade rise but has come a long way in a short space of time. GO AWAY AGAIN (5) is inconsistent and was disappointing last week, but the week prior was impressive.
EARLY SPEED: 1, 2, 4, 5 (Leader?), 6
SELECTIONS: BETA THAN LOVE (7), PRIORITISE (4), FENG SHUI STAR (6), GO AWAY AGAIN (5)
RATINGS: 7 / 4 / 6 / 5 / 3 / 2 / 1 / 8
SUGGESTED BET: BETA THAN LOVE (7) Each-Way
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: COURTNEY KATARINA (5) has been racing well and hit the line well for third over the course, distance and grade last week after locking wheels with 400 metres remaining. Prior to that she went down to Bendigo and finished fourth which is arguably the best piece of form on offer in this. GLITZY ALL OVER (7) draws economically and is down in grade on her last two and won over the course, distance and grade four runs back. OUR ULTIMATE BONNY (2) draws nicely, and the Stingray has her going well. EGBERT (1) won from this barrier at this level last week whilst ROBERT CROCKA (10) and STONEBRIDGE STAR (9) just need a bit of luck from their high barriers.
EARLY SPEED: 1? 2 (Likely Leader), 3? 4? 5? 6
SELECTIONS: COURTNEY KATARINA (5), GLITZY ALL OVER (7), OUR ULTIMATE BONNY (2), EGBERT (1)
RATINGS: 5 / 7 / 2 / 1 / 10 / 9 / 6 / 3 / 4 / 8
SUGGESTED BET: COURTNEY KATARINA (5) Each-Way
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: DARK SANDS (5) has recorded two victories which were back to back on September 27 and October 4 and he led throughout on each occasion so it may well be a necessity for him to lead but even so whilst he has been racing at this level this race is easier compared to recent runs and if able to find a decent spot from the wide draw is a chance of returning to the winners list. APACHE WIND (1) only beat two home last week when first-up for a month but draws well and won when drawing on the pegs on Swan Hill Cup night. STEAL SOME TIME (9) rates next with OUTA CONTROL (6) despite their poor barrier draws.
EARLY SPEED: 1, 2, 3? 4, 5 (Leader?)
SELECTIONS: DARK SANDS (5), APACHE WIND (1), STEAL SOME TIME (9), OUTA CONTROL (6)
RATINGS: 5 / 1 / 9 / 6 / 2 / 3 / 8 / 4 / 10 / 7
SUGGESTED BET: DARK SANDS (5) Each-Way
Race 9:
OVERVIEW: RONZEL RAFA (4) was an eye-catching second on debut behind Mad Punta prior to two runs at the two meetings last week where he once again finished close-up with a third and a narrow second. He has shown to have ability and is a good chance of breaking through on this occasion. YOUNG GUN LOU (7) has been behind RONZEL RAFA (4) in each of those three races but just the same has run well himself and must be given a big chance. NANNA HELEN (8) was down the track last week but some of her better runs would give her a chance. HELENS BOY (2) joins Andrew Vozlic whilst CAPTAINS DREAM (9) was a career best effort last start.
EARLY SPEED: 1, 2 (Leader), 4, 5
SELECTIONS: RONZEL RAFA (4), YOUNG GUN LOU (7), NANNA HELEN (8), HELENS BOY (2)
RATINGS: 4 / 7 / 8 / 2 / 9 / 6 / 1 / 5 / 3 / 10
SUGGESTED BET: Boxed First 4 2, 4, 7, 8, 9
Race 10:
OVERVIEW: WHATS GLENDA GOT (2) has been very well placed in this contest by Sally Hardy as she could have gone around in the two and three-year-old maiden however takes on her elders in this race but in a much easier contest. Her two runs this preparation have been full of merit as she pulled way too hard when first-up prior to a second last week after sitting parked throughout and there is no doubt she would have gotten closer if not for lugging up the track down the home straight. MAISIELOUISA (1) maps to get the lovely sit behind the favourite and has been just behind the placegetters of late. HEADLIKETEZZA (6) and OUR BIG DRAMAQUEEN (4) are next best.
EARLY SPEED: 2 (Leader?), 3, 6
SELECTIONS: WHATS GLENDA GOT (2), MAISIELOUISA (1), HEADLIKETEZZA (6), OUR BIG DRAMAQUEEN (4)
RATINGS: 2 / 1 / 6 / 4 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 5 / 3 / 10
SUGGESTED BET: WHATS GLENDA GOT (2) to Win
