Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: GIVE DAVE A WAVE (8) is awkwardly drawn but he took on the Metropolitan class pacers at Melton on Friday night and he is likely to find this assignment to be much easier. He raced without cover and recorded a slick mile rate of 1.56.6 when he scored at Melton on September 26. IM A DENNY TOO (10) has been racing well and has been promising a win for some time. He moved up without cover when a game second at Kilmore two starts ago so he is worth a ticket each way. SHAQ (6) ran a sharper race at his second run back from a spell, where he pushed forward to race without cover and went down narrowly. He has claims along with MISTER JIMARINGLE (3), MARTHA LAVINIA (4) and SASSYOLA (11).

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 3,4,5,7

SELECTIONS: GIVE DAVE A WAVE (8), IM A DENNY TOO (10), SHAQ (6), MARTHA LAVINIA (4)

RATINGS: 8/ 6,10/ 4,11/ 3,5

SUGGESTED BET: GIVE DAVE A WAVE (8) each way

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: FINAL BOW (4) led throughout in a career best mile rate of 1.56.4 at Shepparton then finished off well at her next two attempts. This race is no harder and she should prove hard to beat again. KEAYANG OMAR (3) was very unlucky at his two starts leading up to his latest fourth, where he attempted to lead throughout. He is racing in good form and deserves to break through for a win. SOAR (11) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and followed successive victories at Mildura and Ararat with a creditable fourth behind Torque Power at Maryborough. He will be suited if there is a genuine tempo throughout. NAI HARN BAY (5) and FULLOFFIGHT (9) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 2,3,5

SELECTIONS: FINAL BOW (4), KEAYANG OMAR (3), SOAR (11), NAI HARN BAY (5)

RATINGS: 4/ 3/ 5,9,11/ 2,6

SUGGESTED BET: KEAYANG OMAR (3) each way

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: TERROROAN (8) raced without cover throughout and battled on well for third behind Love To Deal at Mildura last outing. He led throughout to win at Kilmore on September 12 and he looms as one of the leading chances again. SALSBOY (7) was held up for a run at a vital stage and stormed home to win at Shepparton then worked forward to find the lead when third at Charlton. He is a speedy pacer and warrants consideration. PLAYNICE (11) broke stride at the start and lost his chance when eighth at Yarra Valley. His form prior was sound so he is worth another chance. SHEZABLUECHIP (4), MYNAMEISRUBY (5), ICANMOTOR (9) and NOBLE JULIA (10) all have claims in an open race.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 4,6

SELECTIONS: TERROROAN (8), SALSBOY (7), PLAYNICE (11), SHEZABLUECHIP (4)

RATINGS: 8/ 7/ 3,5,11/ 4,9,10/ FIELD

SUGGESTED BET: TERROROAN (8) each way

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: SISTER EVARISTA (9) beat a strong field at Melton in July and hasn’t had much luck in four starts since. She finished off well when fourth behind Star Down Under last outing and she will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment. IM ABOVE THE LAW (6) is a fast beginner and appears to be well placed against this field. He commenced from the inside of the second line and had little luck when fifth behind Del’s Destiny at Kilmore last outing. THE CHOOK (5) gained the perfect trip and finished off best to win at Shepparton last outing. She is meeting a field of similar quality here and looms as one of the leading chances again. BULLAPARK BENO (3) is a smart trotter when he is able to put it altogether and is a winning chance if he delivers a fool proof display.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible early leader), 4,6

SELECTIONS: SISTA EVARISTA (9), IM ABOVE THE LAW (6), THE CHOOK (5), BULLAPARK BENO (3)

RATINGS: 9/ 5,6/ 3/ 1,2,4/ 8

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: RABADA (8) was resuming since December when he moved up without cover and battled on strongly for second at Charlton behind Another Nien. He has had three wins and two seconds from his five starts to date and should be competitive again. EYE SEE PHILTRA (6) led out then took cover and finished a close second behind Therockgod in a slick mile rate of 1.55.2 at Shepparton last outing. He is racing in fine form and looms as one of the leading chances again. KATHYS FREE (4) is stepping up in class but is racing in career best form and is worth an investment. She missed out narrowly behind Asmileandawinx at Bendigo on Wednesday. CHIRRIPO (5) won the Heidi George Classic two starts ago and has claims along with VALIENTE (7), which is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible early leader), 1,6

SELECTIONS: RABADA (8), EYE SEE PHILTRA (6), KATHYS FREE (4), CHIRRIPO (5)

RATINGS: 8/ 6/ 4,5/ 7/ 2

SUGGESTED BET: RABADA (8) to win

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: TOBYS SHOUT (5) showed good gate speed to lead, took cover and battled on well for second behind Carramar Titmus last outing. He is likely to find the markers in the early stages again and is capable of going one better here. WILLIAMS (3) is a first starter for trainer Alex Ashwood, which led throughout and trounced his rivals at a Bendigo trial victory on Monday night. He strikes a suitable field for his debut and must be rated highly. MAJOR CRUNCH (1) was placed in a mile of 1.57.2 at Geelong two starts ago then broke stride when in a striking position at Yarra Valley. She is perfectly drawn and is not without a chance. HURRICANE HOOLY (4) and MCWIZARD (6) are both capable of figuring in the finish if they receive the right luck in running.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (likely leader), 3

SELECTIONS: TOBYS SHOUT (5), WILLIAMS (3), MAJOR CRUNCH (1), MCWIZARD (6)

RATINGS: 3,5/ 1/ 6/ 4

SUGGESTED BET: TOBYS SHOUT (5) to win

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: ULTIMATE MIKI (4) was performing extremely well at the trials prior to a big second behind Carramar Titmus at Bendigo last week, where he was out very wide from the quarter pole and finished determinedly. He is a handy type and it won’t be long before he breaks through for his maiden success. NUGGET ROGERS (2) finished third at Mildura last outing and backed up with a trial victory at Shepparton on Thursday, where he led throughout. He is a good chance of finding the lead again from his handy draw so he warrants respect. CMON SHARKY (1) was runner up behind We Dealin Diamonds at his latest trial performance and is resuming since contesting the Sapling Stakes. He has ability and is drawn to go well. ARCHIE MOTH (7) progressed forward to race without cover and battled on strongly for second at Yarra Valley last outing. He has been runner up at his past four starts and deserves to break through for a win.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,7

SELECTIONS: ULTIMATE MIKI (4), NUGGET ROGERS (2), CMON SHARKY (1), ARCHIE MOTH (7)

RATINGS: 4/ 1,2,7/ 5,8

SUGGESTED BET: ULTIMATE MIKI (4) to win

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: PROHIBITED BID (8) commenced from the handicap of 20m, worked around the field mid-race and battled on well for third behind Astro last outing. She has been placed in three of her past five starts and should be competitive against this line up. SERTORIUS (6) gets into this race nicely with the aid of a concession claim and must be included amongst the leading chances. He has been placed in two of his four starts since resuming from a break and battled on well for fourth behind Astro at his latest attempt. LIZZIES SON (4) raced without cover throughout and missed out narrowly two starts ago then was heavily supported but broke stride at the start last week. He has ability and is a winning chance if he delivers a fool proof display. SUNNYCOAST SECRET (7) was able to win at Maryborough two starts ago then made an early error at Bendigo last time. She is widely drawn but cannot be left out of calculations.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (likely leader), 1,2

SELECTIONS: PROHIBITED BID (8), SERTORIUS (6), LIZZIES SON (4), SUNNYCOAST SECRET (7)

RATINGS: 8/ 4,6/ 7/ 2,5

SUGGESTED BET: PROHIBITED BID (8) each way

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: IM SHADOW BOXER (4) settled three back on the markers and finished off strongly when a game second behind Pablo Rocks at Melton last outing. This race is no harder and he should be competitive again. ALBY TWO CHAINS (6) attempted to lead throughout when a close second behind Dhaulagiri at Geelong last outing. He is working back to his best form and should be competitive again. CAN FEEL THE FURY (3) settled in a rearward position and couldn’t work into the race, where the leaders got away with a very slow early tempo at Melton last week. His two efforts prior were sound so he is worth another chance. ROCK PHONE (5) and CEMETERY BAY (7) are both capable of featuring prominently in a strong race to end the card.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 6

SELECTIONS: IM SHADOW BOXER (4), ALBY TWO CHAINS (6), CAN FEEL THE FURY (3), ROCK PHONE (5)

RATINGS: 4,6/ 3/ 5,7/ 2/ 1
