Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: TOORAM CEE CEE (3) had no luck whatsoever when seventh at Melton last outing. His form prior was sound and he is much better drawn so he must be respected. CAPTAIN BARNATO (10) is resuming since March but he was racing in great form at the end of his last campaign so he cannot be left out of calculations. THE STATESMAN (4) has performed below expectations at his two starts back from a spell but he is a very smart horse when racing at his peak form and he possesses early speed so he is worth another chance. MADAM REACTOR (1) is perfectly drawn to suit her racing pattern so she is worth a ticket each way.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely early leader), 4,7

SELECTIONS: TOORAM CEE CEE (3), CAPTAIN BARNATO (10), THE STATESMAN (4), MADAM REACTOR (1)

RATINGS: 3/ 4,10/ 1,7

SUGGESTED BET: TOORAM CEE CEE (3) to win

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: ROYAL CHARLOTTE (5) is a swift beginner and appears to be well placed against this line up. She couldn’t lead early and was left without cover when a creditable fourth last outing. WISH UPONA DREAM (12) is a very honest mare, which broke through for a deserved victory after commencing from the handicap of 30m at Hamilton last outing and is worth thought again. RAPID RETURN (11) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and finished off well for third behind the smart mare Sequence at Metropolitan level last outing so she must be respected. FOCUS (3) is stepping up in class from her first up victory but she is a talented mare that is capable of winning through the grades so she warrants respect.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 2,4,7

SELECTIONS: ROYAL CHARLOTTE (5), WISH UPONA DREAM (12), RAPID RETURN (11), FOCUS (3)

RATINGS: 5,12/ 11/ 2,3,8/ 10

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: NELLS ALL BLISS (1) was resuming since May 2022 when she finished off boldly from midfield to finish third behind I’m Easy On The Eye at Bendigo. She should have derived a lot of benefit from the run and is perfectly drawn so she must be respected. MUSSEL SHOALS (4) has been promising a win for some time and is drawn to be prominent throughout. She led out then took cover when a close up second behind Foxyontherun at her latest attempt. BALTIC HALO (3) battled on strongly after enduring a tough run when third at Ballarat and should give another bold showing. I’VE AN IDEA (5) and REINDER (6) are both capable of showing up without surprising.

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: DALEY WATERS (5) has been racing well against strong opposition and should prove hard to beat. She led throughout when a comfortable winner on June 12 and she was in a striking position but broke stride on the home turn at her latest unplaced run. JOHNNY SIX KIDS (9) has performed well at his two starts since resuming and is capable of going one better here. He overcame a slow beginning when a game second behind Aldebaran Campbell last outing. LINK IN BIO (8) will appreciate a significant drop back in class for this assignment and is worth following. JACK SPRATT (6) is a nicely bred gelding, which has performed well in two starts since resuming so he must be considered as a winning chance.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (likely leader), 1

SELECTIONS: DALEY WATERS (5), JOHNNY SIX KIDS (9), LINK IN BIO (8), JACK SPRATT (6)

RATINGS: 5/ 8,9/ 6/ 2

SUGGESTED BET: DALEY WATERS (5) to win

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: LILS NIGHTMARE (8) is racing consistently and has the perfect trailing draw behind the fast beginner ANIMADO (1) so she gets her chance to break through for a win. She attempted to lead throughout when a creditable third at Shepparton last time out. ANIMADO (1) competed against much stronger opposition when sixth behind Komodo at Melton last outing. His form prior was solid so he is worth another chance. BETTORSWEETVICTORY (11) galloped away and lost her chance when ninth at Kilmore last outing. She has been placed in two of her past four starts and should go well again. HIDALGO (9) dashed home in a slick final half to win at his first up win and is worth thought again.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely leader), 3

SELECTIONS: LILS NIGHTMARE (8), ANIMADO (1), BETTORSWEETVICTORY (11), HIDALGO (9)

RATINGS: 8/ 1,11/ 9/ 6/ 3

SUGGESTED BET: LILS NIGHTMARE (8) each way

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: DESIGNER VICI (5) was resuming since March when he scored at Melton then followed with a solid second behind Kyvalley Michael (won again since) so he should be competitive again. MAJESTIC TOOTH (7) progressed forward to move up without cover and battled on strongly for third behind Black and Gold last outing. She is widely drawn but is working up to a win. THAT’S YOUR OPINION (10) is trotting consistently and gets into this race with a concession claim so he must be considered as one of the leading chances. CABIN CREW (11) has returned from a spell in peak form and is worth thought again despite rising in class.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely leader), 2,5,7

SELECTIONS: DESIGNER VICI (5), MAJESTIC TOOTH (7), THAT’S YOUR OPINION (10), CABIN CREW (11)

RATINGS: 5/ 7,10/ 11/ 2,6,9

SUGGESTED BET: DESIGNER VICI (5) to win

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: ATEGO DAWN (5) was first past the post but was relegated to third for going underneath marker pegs in the straight at her latest Kilmore third. She has been first past the post in three of her past five starts so she must be respected. BOUTIKA (2) was a runaway winner under the standing start conditions at Charlton last outing. This race is no harder and she looms as one of the leading chances again. JUST ABIT DUSTY (9) was resuming since July 2023 when he chased boldly for second behind Baltic Spirit at Hamilton. He should be fitter and looms as one of the leading chances again. SUGA DADDY (3) and MY HIGH PEAK (6) are both racing well enough feature prominently.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 3,5,6

SELECTIONS: ATEGO DAWN (5), BOUTIKA (2), JUST ABIT DUSTY (9), SUGA DADDY (3)

RATINGS: 2,5/ 9/ 3,6

SUGGESTED BET: ATEGO DAWN (5) to win

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: OVER THE LINE (1) has performed consistently since resuming from a spell and should prove hard to beat from the pole position. She was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well at her latest Charlton fourth. BET SHEZA LADY (4) scored at Shepparton four starts ago and ran a good race when coming from midfield at her latest fourth so she looms as one of the leading chances. LETHAL LOVER (9) has had no luck whatsoever at her latest performances and is much better than her form reads. She has a nicely trailing draw and should be finishing off strongly. FINAL BOW (5) and FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (6) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 1,3,6

SELECTIONS: OVER THE LINE (1), BET SHEZA LADY (4), LETHAL LOVER (9), FINAL BOW (5)

RATINGS: 1/ 4,9/ 5,6/ 2/ 8

SUGGESTED BET: OVER THE LINE (1) each way

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: HELLO SWEETHEART (6) produced a career best performance when she sprinted sharply from a rearward position at her latest close second behind the handy type in Ta Kalche. She is a maiden from seventeen starts but is ready to break through for a win. MISS MAGIK (1) finished fourth in the same race last week after dropping back from a wide draw and finishing off well. She is likely to end up being behind the leader from the pole position so she should go well. ALAMO (2) is a fast beginner and attempted to lead throughout when fifth at Kilmore last outing. He has been runner up in two of his past four starts and appears to be the likely leader again so he is worth another chance. JAPANESE MIKI (3) has been placed in three of his past four starts and is versatile so he must be included amongst the leading chances.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,7

SELECTIONS: HELLO SWEETHEART (6), MISS MAGIK (1), ALAMO (2), JAPANESE MIKI (3)

RATINGS: 6/ 1,2,3/ 5,8

SUGGESTED BET: HELLO SWEETHEART (6) to win

Race 10:

OVERVIEW: CALYPSO MISTRESS (2) was first past the post but she lost on protest at her latest second placed effort. She has been promising a victory for some time and should take beating from her good draw. FAKE CULLECTION (8) should gain a nice trail through being the lone runner commencing from the second line and she finished off well for second behind Treacheroustimes last outing so she is worth consideration. KYLOAN QUEEN (1) is a fast beginner and is racing better than her form reads so she is not without a chance. SHAWAMI LASS (6) recorded fast time when she scored two starts ago and she is suited to competing over the sprint distance so she must be respected.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,6

SELECTIONS: CALYPSO MISTRESS (2), FAKE CULLECTION (8), KYLOAN QUEEN (1), SHAWAMI LASS (6)

RATINGS: 2/ 1,8/ 6,7
