The driver’s licence of Noel Parrish, driver of Kiwi Royalty, was suspended for 14 days Mr Parrish having pleaded guilty to a charge issued under the provisions of AHRR163(1)(iii) in that, leaving the front straight on the first occasion, he allowed or failed to take sufficient action to prevent Kiwi Royalty from shifting in which resulted in Shemozzle to his inside contacting the inside sulky wheel of Kiwi Royalty and being severely checked with other runners being inconvenienced or checked. In determining penalty Stewards took into account that the incident occurred into the first turn. Also taken into account was Mr Parrish’s excellent record under the rule, his early guilty plea, penalty precedents and penalty guidelines. The suspension is to commence midnight 28th March 2024 to expire midnight 11th April 2024.

The all clear was delayed in order for the Stewards to view the official race videos and also question Angus Garrard, the driver of Heavens Baby, as to whether the mare received a fair start.
