Mudguards and splashsheets were in use throughout the program.

Race 1 - LADBROKES ODDS SURGE PACE    2040M

Kyronta finished second after leading throughout. Driver tactics were queried regarding the fast pace set.  Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. When questioned driver Paige Bevan told the Stewards that she urged the gelding forward at the start which resulted in a very fast early stages. She added that as the race progressed further she was reluctant to take too much of a hold as she was confident Kyronta could run out the trip in good time taking into account its recent runs. Perusual of its form by the Stewards confirmed Ms Bevan’s contention. As it turned out Kyronta was run down late in the home straight to finish second in an own mile rate of 1:57.5. Trainer Peter Grieg told the Stewards that he had also asked Ms Bevan about her tactics subsequent to the race. Stewards noted the evidence thus far however, adjourned the inquiry to have the QRIC Betting Analyst complete a comprehensive analysis of the betting in the race.

My Ultimate Rudi hung in, contacted and dislodged a marker peg near the 550 metres – a warning was issued.

Major Mondo gave ground from the 450 metres after leading the one wide line ultimately being beaten in excess of 60 metres – no action taken due the fast mile rate for the class with mudguards and splashsheets added. 

Born To Write NZ broke free of interference near the 1000 metres – placed on its last chance to race truly.

Glenledi Commander NZ hung out and raced roughly in the score up and was well out of position when the start was effected – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races.

Race 2 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE           1780M

No racing incidents

Race 3 - COMFORT INN & SUITES NORTHGATE PACE           1780M

Lara Bay surrendered the lead entering the back straight on the first occasion.

Mister Cole worked forward to the lead entering the back straight on the first occasion. Had a tendency to race a little roughly on the final turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Ocean Lane raced three wide for the first 450 metres whilst being restrained to the rear of the field.

Teachers Pet was held up for clear running on the final turn then finished strongly wide out for third place. 

Specialandiknowit was held up for clear running on the final turn then utilised the sprint lane to finish in fifth place.

Deecee Rockin was held up for clear running until deep stretch then finish very strongly once clear.

Race 4 - REDCLIFFE LEAGUES CLUB PACE   1780M

After Darn - the right side mudguard became detached near the 250 metres subsequent to the unsuccessful efforts of the driver to reposition it when it became loose.

Night Shadow led the one wide prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 1250 metres.

Three Machs is placed back in the mobile barrier draw having satisfied QRIC requirements. 

Melton Xmas Girl had difficulty obtaining a clear run to the finish – not fully tested.

Batman Bart commenced a three wide run from a rearward trailing position near the 1400 metres to work forward and take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1250 metres. 

Race 5 – GATE SPEED & SWOOPER RATINGS AT SULKY.APP PACE            1780M

Aroona was unable to hold the lead, losing that position after 200

Crime Boss worked forward to the lead after 250 metres then surrendered the lead entering the back straight on the first occasion. Held up behind the tiring leader on the final turn however, finished only moderately once clear.

Feel The Thrill worked forward to the lead entering the back straight on the first occasion. 

Floorless worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1300 metres. Driver Aaron Smith was fined $100, Mr Smith having pleaded guilty to a charge issued under the provisions of AHRR163(1)(c)(ii) for carelessly contacting and dislodging a marker peg entering the home straight. In determining the penalty Stewards were cognisant that Mr Smith had been reprimanded only recently for the same offence.

Race 6 - STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL 2 WINS PACE    2040M

Left To Rocknroll gave ground over the concluding stages. 

Tuffy broke stride as the start was effected – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races. The gelding was left leading the one wide line near the 1300 metres. Gave ground from the 500 metres to be beaten in excess of 52 metres – no action taken for the beaten margin due to the early break.

Shezamaterialgirl surrendered the lead near the 1300 metres.

Happy Snap led the one wide line prior to working forward to take over the lead near the 1300 metres.

Vikander broke shortly after the start was effected losing much ground – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races. 

Race 7 - ELDERS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT PACE  1780M

Chang was held up behind the tiring leader from the 550 metres then finished moderately once clear.  

Montana One withstood an early challenge for the lead then gave ground from the 550 metres.

Mollidor mounted an unsuccessful challenge for the lead and was obliged to lead the one wide line thereafter. 

The Casual Goose worked forward at the start prior to dropping in to a widening one out one back position as the preceding runners contested the lead.

The Blue Wren was held up for clear running until utilising the sprint lane to finish strongly for third.

Hurricane Kingpulled extremely hard early resisting its driver’s effort to restrain to the rear with driver Angus Garrard ultimately successful after 450 metres.
