Supplementary Report:

Stewards approved the following late driver changes for tonight’s meeting after Angus Garrard advised of his intention to commence the suspension, he incurred on April 19th immediately:

Race 2;    FUNNILY ENOUGH  -  Zac Chappenden

Race 4;    BATMAN BART  -  Pete McMullen

Race 7;    BUCKLEUP  -  Mathew Neilson

Race 8;    HEAVENS BABY  -  Leonard Cain

Race 1 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE     1780M  MS

Diego Delgado (Zac Chappenden) Inclined to pull hard during the score-up. Raced in a one-out one-back trailing position for the majority of the event prior to weakening over the concluding stages. Completed the event with a cast off-hind shoe.  

Glenledi Commander NZ (Jordan Topping) Overraced and pulled hard during the early and middle stages of the event whilst racing in the position outside the leader. Reinstated in the barrier draw for races conducted under mobile start conditions after satisfying QRIC requirements with completion of two(2) successful consecutive mobile starts.

Tactfilly Miracle (Leonard Cain) Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

Race 2 – LADBROKES EASY FORM PACE     1780M  MS

The Harris Hawk (Layne Dwyer) Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

Skippers Swan Song (Leonard Cain) Commenced a trailing three-wide run late from the rear of the field leaving the 800metres.

Western Showgirl (Pete McMullen) Gate speed to race outside the leader for the entirety.

Music Moth (Nathan Rothwell) Inclined to pull hard during the score-up. Overraced and pulled exceedingly hard during the early and middle stages of the event whilst racing in a rearward trailing position prior to commencing a three-wide run late with no cover leaving the 800metres however, yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.  

Race 3 - HUSTLER FASTRAK PACE     1780M  MS

Our Dolly (Brendan Barnes) Yielded ground over the final 400metres of the event.

Sals Last Blast (Mathew Neilson) Gate speed however, raced three-wide in the early stages, progressing forward to obtain the position outside the leader near the 1350metres. Shifted-in under pressure and recorrected by driver before racing roughly after contacting the sulky of the runner to the immediate outside EPIC ORION (Bryse McElhinney) leaving the 250metres whilst racing in restricted racing room.

Sunny Cove (Andrew Millard) Caught-wide in the early stages and after failing to obtain a more forward position in the event, the gelding was restrained to the rear of the field. Commenced a trailing three-wide run late from the rear of the field leaving the winning post with a lap remaining. Held up for clear running over the latter stages of the home straight in the run to the finish and was not fully tested to the line.         

So Bobs Your Uncle NZ (Nathan Rothwell) Overraced through the middle stages of the event before commencing a trailing three-wide run shortly after entering the home straight with a lap remaining.   

Beef City Starzzz (Leonard Cain) Contacted marker pegs whilst racing in a midfield marker-line position rounding the final bend when placed in restricted racing room to the inside of SALS LAST BLAST (Mathew Neilson) prior to utilizing the sprint lane in the run to the finish.  

Epic Orion (Bryse McElhinney) Commenced a three-wide run with no cover shortly after entering the home straight with a lap remaining, racing three-wide for the remainder. Hung-in marginally and sulky was contacted by SALS LAST BLAST (Mathew Neilson) leaving the 250metres when that runner was placed in restricted racing room.    

General:

Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred leaving the 250metres in which SALS LAST BLAST raced roughly. After taking evidence from Mathew Neilson, driver of SALS LAST BLAST and Bryse McElhinney, driver of EPIC ORIONand viewing the official Stewards patrol footage, it was established that EPIC ORION was inclined to hang-in marginally leaving the 250metres whilst racing in a three-wide position, simultaneously SALS LAST BLAST whom was racing to EPIC ORION immediate inside had inclined to shift-in under pressure and when recorrected by driver Mathew Neilson, contacted the sulky of EPIC ORION with the mare’s off-side hind leg resulting in SALS LAST BLAST momentarily racing roughly. Stewards could not apportion blame solely on to any one driver or horse and noted the incident as a racing incident and no further action was required.

Race 4 - REDCLIFFE LEAGUES CLUB PACE     1780M  MS

Sporty Azz (Brendan Barnes) Hung-in and sulky was contacted by Fortyfive Rock (Layne Dwyer) on the turn out of the back straight on the final occasion and connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for hanging.

Fortyfive Rock (Layne Dwyer) Surrendered the lead approaching the 1300metres when BATMAN BART (Pete McMullen) worked forward to obtain the lead position. Hung-out marginally under pressure on the turn out of the back straight on the final occasion and contacted the sulky of the runner to the outside SPORTY AZZ (Brendan Barnes) and broke gait as a result. Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.  

Three Machs (Leonard Cain) Severely checked by the galloping FORTYFIVE ROCK (Layne Dwyer) near the 450metres and broke gait as a result.

Highly Respected (Chloe Butler) Reinstated in the barrier draw for races conducted under mobile start conditions after satisfying QRIC requirements with completion of two(2) successful consecutive mobile starts.

Gabbys Ideal (Jordan Topping) Failed to take part in the pre-race circle. 

General:

Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred on the turn out of the back straight on the final occasion in which FORTYFIVE ROCK broke gait. After taking evidence from Layne Dwyer, driver of FORTYFIVE ROCK and Brendan Barnes, driver of SPORTY AZZand viewing of the official Stewards patrol footage, it was established that on the turn out of the back straight on the final occasion SPORTY AZZ which was racing to the outside of FORTYFIVE ROCK was inclined to hang-in despite the drivers efforts, simultaneously FORTYFIVE ROCK was inclined to hang-out marginally when placed under pressure which resulted in FORTYFIVE ROCK contacting the near-side sulky wheel of SPORTY AZZ and broke gait. Stewards could not place culpability on any one particular driver and noted the incident as a racing incident however connections of SPORTY AZZ and FORTYFIVE ROCK were advised a warning would be placed on their respected runners for hanging.

Race 5 – DARREN EBERT & CO PACE     1780M  MS

Whata Reactor (Zac Chappenden) Failed to take part in the pre-race circle. Overraced and pulled hard through the middle stages of the event when racing in the position behind the leader.

Baby Ginnie (Amanda Payne) Caught-wide in the early stages and was restrained to the rear of the field. Hung-in and contacted two(2) marker pegs on the turn out of the back straight on the final occasion when racing at the rear of the field in a marker line position and connections were advised a warning would be issued against the mare for hanging.        

Call Me Trish (Brendan Barnes) Hung-in rounding the final turn and in the home straight in the run to the finish before breaking gait under pressure free of interference near the 30metre point, galloping over the finish line. After considering a good record in this regard, connections were advised CALL ME TRISH would be placed on its last chance to race truly.    

Downtown Manhattan (Gary Litzow) Driver reprimanded for allowing sulky to shift inside a marker peg on the home turn in the run to the finish [AHRR163(1)(c)(i)].

Chakana (Mathew Neilson) Hung-in and momentarily paced roughly approaching the 500metres when racing in a one-out one-back trailing position.

General:

Stewards delayed the all clear following the running of the event to peruse the official race patrol films of the final stages of the home straight in the run to the finish to ascertain whether CALL ME TRISH (Brendan Barnes) gained an unfair advantage when galloping over the concluding stages of the event. After viewing the Stewards official race patrol footage, Stewards were satisfied that all effort was taken by driver Brendan Barnes to attempt to restrain the mare CALL ME TRISH after breaking gait and did not gain an unfair advantage whilst galloping over the final 30metres and declared all clear on the judge’s placing’s 3-8-2-5-9.

Driver Gary Litzow (Downtown Manhattan) was reprimanded under the provisions of AHR Rule 163(1)(c)(i) for carelessly allowing his near-side sulky wheel to shift inside a marker peg on turning into the home straight in the run to the finish.

Race 6 - HYGAIN FEEDS 2 WINS PACE     1780M  MS

Deanothedinosaur (Bryse McElhinney) Completed the event with an off-side flat tyre which may have placed the gelding at a disadvantage in the event.

Singer Snap (Noel Parrish) Yielded ground over the final 500metres after leading the one-wide line for the majority of the event.

Lochinvar Jewells (Mathew Neilson) Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

Tinsel Tiara (Pete McMullen) Worked forward from the mare’s second row draw after the start, racing three-wide in the early stages to the position outside the leader initially before progressing forward to attain the lead shortly after turning into the back straight on the first occasion.

Race 7 - WOLF SIGNS MAIDEN PACE     1780M  MS

Snip Of Beauty (Jonah Hutchinson) Broke gait in the early stages of the score-up and was out of position when the start was effected. Connections were advised Snip Of Beauty would be placed out of the barrier draw in future mobile starts until Stewards are satisfied the filly can perform in the desired manner.

Ebony Belle (Gary Litzow) Failed to take part in the pre-race circle. Unable to hold the lead when challenge by SUWALI (Phoebe Betts) in the back straight on the first occasion. 

Notta Louczar (Layne Dwyer) Inclined to hang-out when placed under pressure leaving the 600metres and whilst yielding ground over the concluding stages of the event and connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for hanging.

Justcallmenitro (Leonard Cain) Inclined to pull hard in the score-up.

Suwali (Phoebe Betts) Successful in challenging for the lead in the back straight on the first occasion after initially leading the one-wide line in the early stages.

Race 8 – REDCLIFFE - THE BETTER BET PACE     1780M  MS

Smoking Zak (Anna Payne) Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

Sarie Marais (Mathew Neilson) Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

Vermont (Brendan Barnes) Commenced a three-wide run with no cover from the rear of the field leaving the winning post with a lap remaining up until gaining three-wide cover late from WAR CLUB (Jonah Hutchinson) turning into the back straight on the final occasion.

Convair Hustler NZ (Hannah Anforth) Gate speed however, raced three-wide in the early stages, working forward to obtain the position outside the leader turning into the back straight on the first occasion, where raced for the remainder.

Heavens Baby (Leonard Cain) Held-up and inconvenienced behind the tiring SMOKING ZAK leaving the 300metres before utilizing the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

War Club (Jonah Hutchinson) Commenced a three-wide run late with no cover from a rearward trailing position turning into the back straight on the final occasion.  

Cobbler Lane (Zac Chappenden) Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.
